Korg kronos part 1: How to Sequence

My friend bought a kronos...but don't know how to sequence with it. So this is a step by step Video we made to help him get started. The tune is something I made up as we were going. Parts 2 and 3 are more of the process and more stuff added...watch them for more ideas.

Gotta give it to you, Keith: It was pretty informative, comprehensible, & presented in a "working man's" watch-&-learn fashion. The manual's written by Japanese technicians with dual majors in computer science & audio engineering or something, & Korg really should bring a working musician on board with average tech skills who's looking to get up & running in a reasonable amount of time without throwing the Kronos against the wall. I think you just gave me the courage to sit down for the 100th time & try to get some leverage with this glorious, amazing, over-built machine from Hell & NOT start smoking again! Thanks! This is the long way to sequence on the Kronos..but it works..checking out some other vids on utube, you can find many short cuts,and learn to loop. Great sequencing, just in much less time.And the Kronos 2 is still the baddest beast keyboard out today. This vid is a good way to get started.

Just bought a kronos...this video has taught me more about building a song than any other ive watched.. Including the ones from korg themselves. Thanks alot for sharing👍

@@Nemobread ive tried that but it automatically chains the effect to all the midi tracks! ..not worked out how to transfer from prog to seq and just keep the transfered effect to the one track. Hoping to fully understand the Kronos by my 80th birthday😂

ALEX'S SONGWRITING JOURNAL when importing it only check the box IFX-all used that way it only transfer the effects it needs and it doesn’t overwrite the other ones, although for your main track you need to get use the TFX’s and MFX’s only the main

Great demo and working explanation of the sequencer. Kind of shows what Korg is too polite to say: workstations are for players.

I have the Korg Krome but I think that the foundation of sequencing is the same just a different interface …I’m from Delaware, would love to link up with someone to learn more about DAW sequencing …

A word of advice you shouldn’t smoke around the keyboard the residue gets underneath the keys and then it makes the keyboard go out of tune trust me it cost me $250 to have them clean it out

Most keyboards have 73 sounds that make up the drum kit. Does the Kronos have an octive feature so you can play the other drum keys? I know I do this on my Motif XF6.

yes....like with my Triton studio....on the 61 note...some stuff is missing.....but on my 76 note one, there are more sounds...i would bet the 88 even has more

@@leapest Ok. My XF is a 61 key and all I have to do is go down one octive to access the other drum sounds that you would be able to play on an 88 key. When I had a 61 key M3 I had to go through a few menus to bring it down an octive to play the other drum sounds.

nice video keith. however a lot of your explanations are not quite accurate. for example, when you explained what OVERWRITE does. not quite right. OVERWRITE will only overwrite everything you recorded til the end of the song from the place where you START to record. not the notes you recorded BEFORE THAT POINT.
