Korg Nautilus: Looping in the Sequencer (Individual Tracks or the Entire Sequence)

The Korg sequencer doesn't loop like that (to my knowledge). Not like loop pedals at least. You can't change anything while the sequencer is running. I don't know what you mean by hold delay. The only thing you can do is layer different drum parts while it's looping (without stopping) but that's ONLY Because there are so many different drum instruments/sounds within a drum program. ... It doesn't work the same within a melodic instrument. I don't understand what you mean by "why don't the drums get picked up"

Ok done that. probably wont be longer then a month but i must say i already saw a lot more where i can built on then other vids and especially comments i saw before. It is all a little intensive to perform but it is there. I would recommend nautilus users to have a look at your member section.

No. There is a blue button in the bottom right corner of the screen. It says ENT.

@@JuliusDeBerryJr Oh wow...ok, yeah I did see that one but got confused with the other way of entering on the recording set up where there's not an enter feature. Anyway, my seq skills (stop & start) are off I guess because I'm not having luck with syncing it. I chose to go another route with more keyboard songs & will come back to focus more! And btw, I'm playing my 1st gig tonight in 2 hours. CRAMMING as they say! Thanks again & will keep you posted on this!

@@JuliusDeBerryJr the kronos just has a wealth of videos already online, patches, guides, more controls aftertouch etc. If I can get a good deal, I'll get a kronos :)

Alot of the Kronos concepts and methods are compatible with the Nautilus as well. Maybe a slightly different approach to get it done, but still very similar.

Hi Brodie. If I remember correctly, you have to do it in the sequencer, and it's more so copying the measures vs just a loop so many times type of situation. I hope this helps. I really am trying to get started with the sequencer content. Huge variance in where people are on the whole concept though.

@@JuliusDeBerryJr thanks so much. I agree as it seems the only way I could achieve what I wanted was by using the sequencer. I wish Korg had provided an "end" option in Loops as this would have saved a lot of time. E.g loop bars 1 to 4 four times.

That's not how the intro feature works. The sequencer is going to start from the point you place the locate measure setting or from the measure that you set it at. The intro simply means it's going to play the measures before it gets to the loop point then start looping. I hope that makes sense.

Thank you too! I just tried again and now everything works like it should. No idea what was wrong last time. There's still a lot more to figure out and it's really important to publish videos like yours because especially the Nautilus is a totally unterrated device and deserves much more attention. Currently I'm in contact with the Korg Support due to the crashes I explored when recording arppegios.

Yeah that doesn't make sense. Just a shot in the dark... But did you loop measures in preferences or loop via individual track?

@@JuliusDeBerryJr I selected "loop all tracks" like you did when you added the 64 measures @ 2:25 in your video here. Shouldn't this be just for this particular seq / drum loop only and not send that selection to all those other tracks?. Maybe I'm supposed to save it another way possibly. I freaked out when I clicked other songs in my set list (about 35 tracks) where they all looped at that 4th measure. At 1st I thought I lost all my work. So I'm thinking I'm not saving something here. Is preferences the other possibility for doing it correctly. If so, what are my steps? THX for all of this! ((((PS...I could do what I've been doing with the 3 to 4 min songs & just let the drum run recording audio, but I'm trying to save my memory storage with looping instead)...these are drum sounds & beats I like from my Ensoniq btw...after this, I will get into the Naut drums! THX MAN!

That screen may be preference settings for the entire sequencer (songs sharing settings)... I'm not sure because I've never left those settings after recording. I'd just always loop them for the amount of measures I needed them for specific to while I was recording. For individual tracks, you should follow the instructions given earlier in the video. (Per track)

@@JuliusDeBerryJr I guess that does connect with the entire seq.....I did see that section & tried that but unfortunately, it's the midi tracks which mine is audio track 1 & don't appear on the screen (if that's what you're referring to). I'll look back at that section if you're talking about something else. Still scratching my head. If all else fails, Ill just record full-length loops on about 5 to 8 of my best of drums (sounds and beats) and move on. Thanks man or if you think of anything else.

Maybe try just looping the audio itself in the sample. I'm not sure, I don't use audio in keyboard sequencers.. I have before just for testing but it's been a while.

@@JuliusDeBerryJr Thank you for your quick reply! When looping a track I can only seem to loop to whole seconds eg 8 seconds.. not 8.5 or 8.3 or anything that’s in between a second. Is it possible to loop more specifically down to milliseconds or can you only loop to whole seconds

I've only looped to measures. Not to time at all.
