Rack models, as cool as they are.. are truly a thing of the past when you have something like your smart phone or tablet that can process similar samples!

I seen it too and it was the same deal for me but I was lucky enough to get a new Fantom G7 with my Gear Card. Even used now the Oasys is still pretty pricey.

I'm looking at one for 1600... trying to decide between oasys or nautilus...

i had same sticky fader caps , easily replaced with similar caps for mixers , cheap buy on the internet.Stil a great synth indeed.

Yes mine are sticky as well but I don`t mind and as far as comparing the Oasys (I have an 88) to the Kronos ( I have two 61`s) the Oasys sounds are rich where as the Kronos sounds are thin and don`t come close the quality of the Oasys.

I replaced the knobs with Yamaha knobs and they look great and work great as well. I don't remember the part number - you'll have to research. Great synth!

You mean the 1990 (or was it 1991) fake presentation of Oasis? ;-) And yes, I was there and fooled by Korg like everybody else. After the M1 fake demo, you should have been warned. But Oasis was a completely new level of scam.

@chief tp By far, it is the best built synth/WS/keyboard I have ever laid my fingers on. This machine is stunning in all aspects, and the sounds....ahhh, nothing comes close even today. The keybed is superb, the only problem comes when you load the patches into sequencer. It loses it's original sound structure. Some less, some more. But that can bypassed with today's DAWs. Worth every penny. Total monster.

@chief tp so your last few words means this: everything "old" is old and useless and everything new is better than old. Not necessarily.

It better be a better build quality than the Kronos, it was 2.5 times the price. Unfortunately, Korg went way too far reducing the build quality of the Kronos. It's by far the worst built Korg synth I know. Oasis vs Kronos is like Maybach vs Lada.

i have oasys full sounds loaded wit ADAT 8 output plus sdif for sale in thailand mind conditions with extra new screen available, but HD needs contact cleaning (not broken) it needs its start disk (have it) to start HD and here...not easy to explain how to access HD fo cleaning !

Mine is still the centerpiece of my gear, and I think it will stay that way for foreseable future. Not only that thing never stops surprising you with how great it sounds but it has an incredibly high quality keybed that no other keyboard can match. It's simply amazing machine for people who like to play. I have 5 other synths (well, OASYS is officially a workstation but it's synth engine is still a monster), none of their keybeds come even close - even as they all are high quality instruments, not some cheap duds. Another thing, although it has relatively little to do with music itself, is that of all the gear that I now have, OASYS looks very impressive and dominating to not just me but it gets plenty of admiration from my occasional guests, both musicians and non-musicians alike. It dominates the room. Your eyes get drawn to it once you're in the room with it. It's simply impressive inside out. You never get bored by it's looks and that alone makes you want to play it. No offense to KRONOS because it became one of their biggest sellers ever - but the machine itself is poorly done when compared with the tank that OASYS is. I tried to play it somewhere in Guitar Center when I already had my OASYS and I wasn't pleased at all. I think it was one of the first models of KRONOS. If I'm not mistaken, they did some improvements eventually, but when you compare the two, it's night and day. I had mine also beefed up with extra RAM memory, with about 100 custom made patches that replaced those I didn't have any use for. (and there were quite a few there in attempt to satisfy wider range of customers), thus making the OASYS to sound even better than the originally programmed patches. One draw back is that you have to be doing quite a bit of menu diving if you want to get into finer details of the sound, and I am not patient enough to work with those features. I am simply not a huge fan of turning knobs or clicking for extended time period just to make that one of a kind special sound color people search for all the time. I just want to sit down and play. And OASYS excells in giving you in that. You can get really simple with it and you can drive yourself crazy with the infinite possibilities this keyboard is capable of. I have now the new Obberheim OB-X8 on pre-order (always dreamt of having genuine Oberheim synth ever since my youth and hopefully my dream will come true soon). It's supposed to be a fantastic synth with great build quality, but I think my OASYS will retain it's centerpiece role in my gear. It's just a gorgeous instrument to play on.

@@Tigerex966 before Paste no synthesizer had multiple synthesis, it defines the modern music workstation after it, even the motif, montage, fantom, Kronos, krome, MODX... At last in my opinion, the OASYS was the most important

@chief tpat least "multiple modeled synthesis". In OASYS you got the option to use PCM sound generator, virtual analog modeling, FM synthesis, physical modeling synthesis... I know they are all software, but have different softwares to generate sounds in a hardware synthesizer, like vsts in a PC, was an innovation. Kronos do the same today, also Montage and Fantom, but I don't think anyone did it before

@@EduardoRohdeEras the Yamaha EX5 came out several years earlier than Oasys and had multiple synth engines. Even the Yamaha SY77 had sampling+FM modeling.

@@whisperdancer Indeed, I own a EX5. AWM2, FDSP, VL synthesis, AN and a sampler, the first true Swizz army knife of synths. Even the Synclavier II in the early 80's had several synthesis methods, Additive/FM hybrid with resynthesis and a Sampling engine. Also at around the same time as the Oasys came out, Alesis released the fusion, which is another synth I own. It has a Sampling engine, a unique FM engine, VA based of he Alesis Ion and micron and two different physical modeling engines, specs wise one could call it a budget Oasys at the time. Still, the Oasys was packed with innovative features as well, it was undoubtedly the most powerful synth of its time.

Not!los sonidos son muy actuales y muy actualizado. Produce mucha lastima que las fábricas de instrumentos no fabrican con ésa misma calidad los instrumentos de hoy día.

[Remastered] means that it is an old video released with enhanced quality. However, there’s a lot of old gear that still sounds spectacular. For example people still buys used Stradivarius.

Korg oasys uses some kind of linux os and the computers are cheaper nowadays... see open labs neko

sjcongo Yeah, I guess everything today could be done better with a powerful tablet and a good controller keyboard. But that is only half the truth, as the hardware integration, ease of use and ”instrument feel” is just as important. For me, that is even more important. For example, I’ve got an iPad with lots of fancy music apps, but still go to hardware for inspiration.

@@faruzzy Yes and no.Now you have the Kronos with SSD and oasys is with HD,wears out much faster.But still if you want a oasys still good and a good second hand one is cheaper than a Kronos and you have an iconic instrument.

I bought one for 1500 euro mint condition and I like it more as my pa4x loving the huge touchscreen that can be controlled with a stylus, and the amazing sounding patches great to jam with the touch sensitive pads and Kaos.
