I love this video since 2010 , I remember coming to the original one every time I needed a dx7 style sound inspiration. The best FM intro of all time!

Lucky me got one of these. I bought it new and still love it. DX5 sounds so warm and lush to be an FM synth.

Thanks to Chick, I consider the DX5 and most other DX models some of the most expressive instruments created.

As always, your demo's really show the best elements of the synths you are using and with the DX5 you clearly show how expressive the combination of the FM engine and the great keyboard on the DX5 can be :-)

Also not a big fan of FM (except in the Synclavier), but there is something about the DX1, including polyphonic aftertouch, that is really special. Rare as hens teeth, but maybe there are a few floating around Nippon?

Sorry dudes but this synth smashes the CS-80 to pieces. A different synt engine of course, but the variety of sounds is so much wider.

Ok, so this is the old 80's synth or a re-release? I honestly am not sure. This, even after watching the first 5 minutes of the video LOL. Is this a new release of the original or just a rehash of the old one? Unless I'm dumber than I think, it's not clear to me. Anyway, I'm not going to watch any further, though I really like both, Katsunori UJIIE, as a presenter, and the Yamaha DX line, as I've got DX sounds in the MODX-7 (love 'em) and not really interested in the complete package. If this really is a re-release, KUDO's to Yamaha as it looks exactly like the original and must have all the modern touches. That's cool! I have seen so many posts from people wanting Roland to re-release the Jupiter-8 but they have no interest in doing that (though they do offer great reproductions across a multitude of boards) so, if Yamaha actually is re-releasing their big board of the day, good stuff! It will be amazing as Yamaha knows how to do things right and not just cater to the hip, pop culture thing. Ok, now I move onto to something else without really knowing but all good. :)
