He has been deeply involved in the history of Japanese Synthesizer development and programming, particularly Yamaha. Oh, as you could see he is a fantastic musician. @@annother3350 oh, no, I'm saying the 61 is a horribly weak synth. I'd also say any 4-op FM synth is horrible except in the very narrow sense that BACK IN THE DAY they could make a wide-range of crucial sounds, albeit badly, at a good price point. I'd also say that for today any 6-op FM is equally crap, as software is effortlessly capable of doing far more. I'd also add every one- or two-oscillator mono-synth like the SH-101 and Pro-One and MS-10 to that list of keyboards so weak they're a waste of time even enumerating the weaknesses of.

そうなんですよね。ストリングスの音とかめちゃめちゃ素晴らしい。 のですが、やはり外部エフェクトでディメンジョンがめちゃめちゃ効いていると思います。 こいつをライブで使いこなそうと思えばMIDIもないため、 昔ながらの足元にコンパクトエフェクターをずらっと並べると言うことが必要になりそう。 MIDIとリングモジュレーション、オシレータシンクがあれば、 POLY-61は時代を超える名器となったと思います。

@Ken Boost まあ良し悪しよねー… 個人的には、せめてロータリーエンコーダ(Rolandで言う所のαダイヤル)、フィルターのカットオフとレゾナンス、欲を言えばADSRの其々まで付いてれば操作しやすそうなのになー、って感じ JUNO-106持ってるけど6音ともクローンチップに乗せ換えてあるｗ シンプルで分かりやすい操作系で、扱いやすいし音色も素直で良いシンセやけど、唯一そこが…ｗ

@@tnmrvc Same in Germany from what I have received from there. They also know how to very expertly package things, to avoid damage in transit!

It’s also likely he knows exactly where to get them and have them refurbished (if he wants to own it) or people seek him out directly to sell him a pristine one. Or it’s a loan from someone. Lots of ways really.

One thing is that it's nearly impossible to gig or jam in Japan--where would you do it in a country where apartments are 600 sq ft. and houses have such thin walls you can hear what your neighbor's watching on TV? So keyboards tend to just stay in the house and don't get too dirty.

I had one new in the box that I sold a few years ago.. I have two others that are in great shape as well! People hang onto the hood ones 👍

And twice the price. They are awesome though, just leave those wicked choruses on 😊

@@HotStrange basically it lacks any and all power of digital, and yet also misses out on half the appeal of analog by 1) digital-controlled oscillators. Hold two notes together and there's zero beating, zero fatness. After a while it sounds like just one note. In contrast a Polysix will always have a little detune sounding far richer when you do the same thing. 2) no cross-sync or FM ability like the Mono/Poly. 3) 6 notes polyphony isn't much either. Korg only made one more 6-voice synth, and even that, the DW-6000, was a marketing gimmick to get people to upsell into the DW-8000. Granted 6 is better than 4 or 5 like Jupiter-4 or Prophet-5, but still not much. 4) lost the Polysix's great effects 5) only 7 steps for PW, PWM 6) no sine, triangle waves 7) only 16 LFO frequencies, absolutely not enough All in I'd far rather have a Polysix.

@@lqr824 lol seems like you’re just way too picky. It’s senseless to compare synths and measure their worth based on that. You could argue that with any synth in comparison to the Moog One for instance, and none would measure up. I see a synth as it’s own instrument, and on its own, for what it is, the Poly61 is pretty cool. I’d rather have a Polysix also, but I’d also rather have a Minibrute 2 over the MicroBrute. That doesn’t make the MicroBrute bad. That’s just a bad argument.
