The korg prologue is probably the best synth on the market rightnow. I tried it out myself in a musicstore about a week before the whole virus crisis happened, and I was so so impressed by it! Great for ambient sounds and pads👌

Been using this synth live with a band for the last year or so and I can say that you're definitely getting your money's worth. It's incredibly professional sounding in a band mix and it really does feel good to play.. on rare occasion it does have some strange tuning behaviors, while not common it is jarring when it happens mid performance.

I love this synth, I have been using it for a year and I had to leave it in China in February when I left running away from COVID... I thought I would go back in a few weeks, now I miss it a lot.

I had a mini XD a few years ago when it was launched....sold it...regretted it.....always loved the prologue line....just bought a prologue 8. Cannot wait to get that sound back in my studio and it has its own world of sound!

I own a sub37 and looking now for a prologue, but I'm afraid because a lot of tuning problems people have reported... have you suffered this?

Rhizosphere well it’s my first synth and it’s more than enough for me, loads of options, arp, sequencer, built like a tank and works flawlessly within the daw using modal app, what’s not to like??

In my case that I dont have a midi keyboard yet, does this synth would replace the purpose ? I've been waiting for launchkey mk3 to release, but if the functionality of this synth as a usb/midi controller can give me good workflow in ableton, I may consider it. let me know your thoughts !! I love this synth. I have a Moog Subsequent 25 and I wanted another synth. Thinking of the Sequential Pro 3 Multi-Filter Mono Synthesizer or the Sequential Prophet Rev2 Synthesizer. I am not sure yet. What you think? I am getting tired of all these plug in's I have. I've spend so much money on plug ins for sounds but everything out there sounds the same

No, you would capture the sound as recorded audio into the DAW.

@@DjFabi Die Kombination aus Moog Subsequent 37 und Korg Prolog ist ein Match, das im Himmel gemacht wurde. Ich hatte bereits einen Sub 37 und als ich den Prolog neben einem Subsequent 37 im Laden ausprobierte, musste ich den Prolog kaufen. Ich empfehle dringend, sie zu kombinieren.

how do you record a hardware synth?

Plug the output of the synth into an input of your audio interface which is plugged into your computer via USB, fire up your chosen DAW and jam and record to your heart’s content. I think there are also some synths that can send both midi and audio through their USB port, but don’t quote me on that ...yet.

@@dannyvalentino328 with the Sub 37 you can also plug USB to your computer and record the MIDI notes as well as the audio. I just record audio but I'm sure you can do the same thing with the Prologue too.

have you thought about getting a Behringer Poly D? I have one at home and I can only say that it’s really amazing. Build quality ist surprisingly really good and the sound is just awesome. I really recommend it if you need another synth someday.

Please talk about why you chose the Proloque and what other synths you were considering. I would love to know your perspective. So many great hardware synths out there right now, it is helpful to know why different people care. I have a Novation Summit which has 3 equal functioning oscillators. All 3 can do wavetable or traditional waveforms. It is all analog from the VCA and Filter to the output. Though the oscillators are digital, you would never know. It can do FM too. I bought it because it pretty much does everything I want a synth to do (if I had to have only one). Main thing missing is no sequencer. It has an ARP, though. For "Serum in a hardware synth", I am looking at the ASM Hydrasynth.

The Summit has more modulation options and has superior filters. In some opinions the effects are also better than the Prologue's. The Prologue's VCO's give you the organic sound that's missing in digital oscillators but sometimes that precise sound is more desirable so that is just a preference. The Prologue is also a lot less expensive to buy compared to the Summit. IMO if you have a Summit already then you're good. If you have a Prologue and you don't have a Summit you're still good. If you got both just smile because you're satisfied

Got a Prologue 16 sat above my Prophet 10 (Rev 4), a great combo of japanese vs american sound. The Prologue allowed me to replace a lot of other synths and is under-rated. Junkie XL just downsized from hundreds of synths and has a handful, one of them is the Prologue 16!

the most underrated synth. i love mine. the best 16 osc's since OB6 and the unique ME SDK. lfos absolutely overrated.

Any concerns with the tuning of the prologue?

@ the tuning problem was fixed in 2018/19 with the update. the rest is optimized autotuning and reduced warming up 5~10min. nowadays a ghost discussion against prologue from release; in addition to the old F# tune issues. www.gearnews.com/korg-prologue-v1-30-fixes-the-annoying-tuning-instability/ at least one of the best synth the last decade. and the neverending sequencer discussion is annoying meanwhile, while the user OSCs/Multi-Engine offer much more flexibility

@@iosyn5896 well, even with this update, and even with the 2.1, a lot of people are still complaining.. so I was wondering if you encountered this issue in you unit. Lack of Sequencer is not a problem to me

@ i only got this tuning problems, with wrong calibration over longer play time, that's (analog) normal! just turning on with (...wrong calibration...) the autotuning will reproduce this error everytime, even with updates. -> manual calibration/tuning - some hints on net, against the userfriendly auto-tuning. so, my pro works well, and i love it.
