Korn - Blind / No Way Recorded Live: 7/23/1999 - Woodstock 99 East Stage - Rome, NY More Korn at Music Vault: www.musicvault.com Subscribe to Music Vault on RU-vid: goo.gl/DUzpUF
damn you can FEEL it when the crowd erupts screaming "WHAT IF I SHOULD DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!" all in unison. This is perhaps the most epic performance of any song ever.
Ya it did get out of control Korn made it worse. I had to Kungfu 100+ folks getting out of there 5 where raping a woman until I came along. Thanks to Bush to defuse the situation a little. I will never forget what happened
I was there. The closer you got to the stage, the more impossible it was to stay in one spot. The crowd swept you up whether you wanted to go or not. The more intense the music, the more intense the crowd reacted. I learned that if you're at a Korn show you aren't merely an observer. You're a participant. The crowd is deeply linked to, and affected by what they do on the stage.
Thank you for sharing your experience! You're beyond lucky to have gotten to experience one of the best concerts of all time, way before phones ruined live performances
if the crowd at whatever concert youre at isnt doing exactly what you just described then its a shit crowd. how you gonna be in the crowd of your favourite artists and not feel the need to go fucking insane??? standing on the sides of the pit judging people for having fun.
I'm from Argentina and I was there too and arrived at the place about 30 minutes before Korn started. It was simply amazing and an experience that I will tell my grandsons.
Yeah right. These guys were the darlings of MTV, their videos were played constantly. Too emo for me, I'm not all into my emotions like a lot of dudes are today.
I never heard this song before I heard the Woodstock version, like you know the song is gonna be good, but he comes in with that shit, than the song kicks in like a bomb and its like "whoa", this performance was epic
There was just something about KoRn when Jon, Fieldy, Munky, Head, and David were the band! Something has been amiss with KoRn since the time Head (who later returned) and David left! Hopefully one day David reconciles with the other four! 🤘
Just seen the doc too but a long time korn fan. Holy Jesus fuck when he says are you ready and the crowds atomises . Looks like the wildest moment in music history I’d reckon. I’ve never seen a crowd that intense
Documentary was complete garbage. They blame Limp Bizkit for everything lol it was the shitty event planning and insane price gouging that turned it into an absolute shit show
When " are you ready " drops with 100k or more people going absolutely NUTS is to me the best live connection a band has ever had? Just the energy alone is so insane I've watched on RU-vid 100x n it still gives me goosebumps so you can only imagine what it must have been like being there? It's truly an epic moment in music history! If I had to follow KORN here I might decide on a career change cuz no band on that Woodstock lineup had that much energy in my opinion!! 95-2004 KORN was a steaming locomotive that came off it's tracks but had no emergency brake!! Fortunately I got to see them on 1999 Korn/Rob Zombie tour which was epic! They are still going strong today mostly I think cuz of Johnathan Davis always moving forward! True legends! Rock on!
Just NOT with that shit "lineup" proposed back in 2019! A combination of performers from 69, 94 and 99 plus some big name post-2000 bands (like Slipknot, SOAD, etc) would be ideal!
Maybe you realize Korn was still relatively a new group during this time. Woodstock is a bachelor thing, and the one in 2019 should cater mostly to the young ones.
Saw Korn live in 2000. They were on tour with Metallica. Best show ever! And when Jonathan said, "Are you Ready!!" The whole crowd went wild. Just like here.
Could you imagine being in this crowd? No phones, no social media, no fucking influencers, just everyone in the moment having a great time enjoying some Korn
I was there... ask any questions you want.. Was 18 at the time... Went with a group of 15 people.. Was about right in the middle of that crowd. I saw EVERYTHING... It was one of the greatest experiences of my life. I would have gladly died after that concert and been perfectly content. Life was relatively downhill since my glorious teenage years, but the memories keep my going in this waste of a modern society.
@@ignacio-m Its mistake they made when naming this video. Its Obviously Twist and Chi. No Way wasn't even made during this time, or was in the making at maximum. It was on their 4th album Issues released in 1999, but after Woodstock 99.
And younger people talk about moshpits on rap artists like Travis Scott, Lil Uzi Vert and Post Malone. They ain't got shit on a Korn moshpit, the crowd is straight liquid.
Bruh I've been jamming to KoЯn for quite some time and I'm just 15. I even got a band together and we all like KoЯn, so I was gonna try and make the band KoЯn themed. I mean, I did learn his screaming/growling/singing technique and his "enchantment table language" as everyone calls it 😂
@@nauri8138 That sounds awesome what you are doing! And yeah I don't dissclaim everyone in the younger ages. I'm only 22 myself so. Been a fan of rock like QOTSA, Fu Manchu, Monster Magnet and Hellacopters since I was only like years old. My parents listend to that stuff so. But I got into more metal when I was around 11. Haven't appreciated Korn so much before, that has come in the last couple of years. Now I can really see their greatness, at least their earlier works!
@@hallamalla98 well I like to headbang when I'm singing/playing guitar/just jamming and KoЯn always makes that happen. I started out with Three Days Grace, Avenged Sevenfold, and Breaking Benjamin for a while and then I discovered Five Finger Death Punch, Slipknot, and KoЯn and my life was changed forever lmao
@@hallamalla98 I occasionally visit Pantera actually, Breaking Benjamin cover Walk live and Avenged Sevenfold made a full on cover of it so if I didn't know about them before then I would've afterwards lol
The amount I would pay just to go back again! Mid 90's grad looking at life since 2020 like wtf happened! But definitely 90's was unreal experience in my own life
I was there, and I can say this was the loudest, intense set that played there! This was on the Saturday night session. We decided to leave a little early and wound up just getting to our shuttle that took us to to the parking. we seen the fire starting to get out of control pretty much while loading up and getting a seat.
@@lucasmendes6735 it's kinda weird to describe it was kinda like limp bizkit was a violent performance compared to this being just a kick ass concert performance. Limp bizkit played before this, and it was still daylight, dusk. Theres no doubt in my mind that if they had closed things out for the sat night main stage performance things would have gotten FAR WORSE, and it would have ended sat night instead of Sunday night when the fires and shit started.
@@a.greene6983 Oh Man , I wish could've been there too, but I was born in 99 and I've watched the Netflix documentary and the HBO and it blows my mind , because despite of the problems the line Up with all that bands was insane .
@@lucasmendes6735 I've been meaning to watch that and haven't gotten around to it yet. I went with my girlfriend and two other friends and we were just 17 at the time, and there was a few moments I was honestly worried. We were VERY CLOSE to the big scaffolding you'll see in the middle with tv cameras at the top. MTV had been recording a few shows or something just a little on down from the top and people started ripping plywood off of it and that's where it came from when Fred durst saw them surfing on it and mentioned it. What they weren't showing though is a mad rush of security going over there and evacuating everyone off of it. It was very tall, and one point that shit was swaying and leaning BADLY!
RickGrimes41 I was there close to prob like 8th row I thought I was gonna die when that part kicked in . but it was the greatest time of my fucking life.
i was there and nearly got crushed trying to get as close as i could to the stage and i was still pretty far away. loved every moment and just saw korn last week in concert and they still bring the same energy as they did in the 90s. true living legends.
Not necessarily a bad thing to record a show with the technology we've achieved. You know, I bet a lot of closeminded classical enthusiasts from the nineteenth century wouldn't accept 90's rock lol, always some rejection within the generations on how the next is doing it
Now, February 2024, while listening and watching this video, I'm just sitting in office and thinking, how am I gonna escape from this matrix that I'm going right now. Thank you for 'KoRn', when I listen to this song, I feel freedom and positive energy flowing into my mind. What an inspiration...
xtremeone4 I'm sure you did ya crazy ass. yeah, females getting touched up you can see from just watching on youtube. And Flea from chilli peppers yelled at everyone for doing that.lol Also what were those fires like during their performance.
Saw this live at Allstate Arena in March 2000 Had no clue who the hell they were. We went with our 16 yo son. So glad. Been a diehard fan since. Mind you in 2000 we took him and a couple of his friends to Ozzfest, on my B-day, we had 6 Backstage passes! That was sweet! So who else here will be 65 years old next week???? LOL Sadly, much of the great shit from the past will not be taken into the future. sux
when the song drops, I get this feeling in my stomach that cant be replaced with anything.. watching that crowd respond together like that. Moving a crowd with music.. nothing like it in the world!
Bro I was there in the middle of that wave of people with my 15 good friends (and the woman who became my wife).. I still get chills looking at it and it is almost surreal that I was there. Greatest times of my life. No regrets.
Being there at 19 was such an unforgettable experience. Still get chills when Jonathan screams "are you ready?!" Had a disposable camera with film for 12 pics. That is what documented our Woodstock 99 weekend, and until we got home and got film developed didn't even know if there were any good pics. Fortunately, there were some good pics from that trip which got framed and hang in my home office today, 22 years later.
I have listened to a LOOOOT of music, man. But the anger and the energy that I feel with this video is unexplainable. It just turns on my whole existence every single time hahahahah
"lockdown" is the problem with modern society... Authoritarian garbage... Let me life life and take risks! I want to die doing the things I love and living life to the fullest. Id gladly take on this virus and die HAPPILY if I can just live free until the end...
Imagine standing on that stage and seeing 100,000 people absolutely lose their minds to your music. Would be one of the most satisfying feelings as a musician.
I wish back than I was the age I am now. So I could've gone to one of these! 90's FTW best concerts! PLUS.. I've been in love with korn since I was 6 yrs old. =D
Loved my youth born 89 lived through this ,was amazing. we never knew it was all gunna be part of music history Music now does not cut it ,its gone the best is behind us musically
Reminds me of Joey Jordison.😢😥 I'm still heartbroken even almost a couple of weeks after his sudden death. I will miss and love him forever. I ♥️ both Slipknot and Korn. They're like my stress-relievers and wound-healers. - A huge fan from the 🇵🇭, Philippines.🤘🤘🤘
Yes, we are in 2022...that was in 1999...I'm so fucking proud to watch that show on TV! I'm so fucking proud of you! That wave man!!! So fucking awesome! I'm proud of you god damn it!
