Hi Kevin just watched your latest video. I go to Kos every year ( just back ) and we go through to Kardamena every year but have only visited the bar once as he charged us a fortune for our drinks. Love it there tho. Lots of great bars Scala on the front is best and they do have live music. Avli is a fantastic restaurant. Hope you enjoyed it.
My partner and myself go every year to Kardamena, we're coming up to our 30th year soon. We stay close to the beach in a small family run place, we're back in September as we take my mum these days, her and my late dad used to go quite often, they used to go to Spain a lot and couldn't understand why we went to Kardamena until they went. The flat streets make it easy on older legs. In the mid 90's it was mental as 18/30 time but those people got older too, many of them go now like we do. There's sometimes live music down at Yoyo's place, on the seafront as you walk towards the mountain, he has George Theodoru playing there, George has had a number one album in Greece and has his own channel on youtube. It looks like you fell in love with the place, you'll be back. What's not to love about that view and 5 mins from the airport. Regards.
Hi Kevin, we were there in June. Lovely wee town. We sat in Buddies Bar one night. Head along towards those mountains and the last bar in town is "Banana Beach" worth a visit. If youre there tomorrow, get the ferry to Nisyros. Its around an hour away and its like going back in time 40 years.
Ferry from Kardamina port at approx 10am. Is a an active Volcanic Cauldero valley. Well worth a Visit. Also why in the sea water on Kardamina you will see bubbles coming up.
The guy that owns the crossed bar is a total gem i loved it when i was there spent time there for a week of my holidays a few year's ago with my friend and the year before with my daughter
Thank you for getting there Kevin. It has totally changed from the 70s when I went twice and had a holiday romance with a Greek lad lol! In those days tavernas along the beach and you’d choose your food by looking in the kitchen.
We were there about four years ago when the Euros were on, you could see the remains of the party crowd then- but was obviously re inventing itself and doing it well, some lovely restaurants and bars along the harbour front as well as in the centre. Probably even better four years later
great vlog kev,did you know that kardamena was a small fishing village in 1981 when i first visited, been back many times since then ,but stay in tigaki as its more laid back and lovely beach .my greek friend owns the evripedes hotel way down past the strip .he had it past down to him from his father .though he lives in boston and runs it through the holiday period .enjoy your stay in the madhouse now
Great to see your team on display and the bar being named after St Mirren...keep up the good work with the videos mate. Sorry we beat your team this afternoon.
Kev. I am a blue and I will dearly miss Goodison Park. I wish they just renovated it instead. But hey ho. Love your videos mate and your chatter too. (Even though you're a red nose)
Stayed in Kardemina back in 97 . Looks to be much busier now, a last minute booking in a converted garage next to the hotel, enjoyed it. Kos was great suprise cycled out of town passed a national service centre, really hot ! Have fun from a wet Dumbarton.
Another oldie, I was there during the World Cup 98 tournament. We watched the Argentina game in I think that Crossroads bar (looks familiar). Later in the evening, I remember looking down that narrow streetway and seeing some drunk England fans throwing chairs through windows after that defeat. Mental
That was my first trip abroad apart from Holland where my sister lived but to a resort it was over 30 yrs ago it's grown a lot since then obviously but not so much it's spoiled still looks really nice love your videos ❤
Addicted to RU-vid? Like when I search for a song at 7pm then at 3am I'm watching a documentary about street gangs in Guatemala. The algorithm owns me.
Went in 2002 was my least favourite Greek isle , vaguely remember the small runway we had to re-approach when landing !!! I remember the stone roses bar in the square that’s about it and a place called bubble beach
@@ScotsmaninTenerife agree with you about these new grounds I’m a westham fan and the running track we inherited will never touch Upton Park !!! Keep up the good work Kev , I go to Benidorm 2/3 times a year it’s my favourite place , zakynthos was my fav Greek isle laganas and kalamaki worth visiting
Back in 02 it was a small airport but it isn't now, it's been renovated and built onto, there's decent eating places in there and dedicated lounges for travellers now.
Ah brilliant kevin you eventually found real genuine buddies bar ,sorry your second favourite Scottish team beat you today as you didn't seemed too worried 😂😂 great video again
@@ScotsmaninTenerife Cool. That was the main place when I went there 8 years ago. There was one or two more, but forgot what they were called. One was full of 18 year olds
Plenty of wild cats anout to keep mice and rats under control. A tip they learnt from bubonic plagues. Also why 'witches' were most women who owned cats hence they rarely caught the plague.
I’m going to be flying back to Manchester from Kos airport next week, is there any chance you could find out how much a taxi is from Kardemena to the airport. I’ve seen some prices online saying 50euros but it’s only a 10 minute journey so I can’t see that being true.
Visit Tom and Stu at the bands or Phillipos @ Pegasus. Our favourite places in Kardamena. Everywhere is great tbh, the people are all so friendly, its our favourite holiday destination.
