As a Greek, I HAVE to suggest Mani. It's on mainland so not many know about it. the sea is so clean that you can find sea turtles. I would lose it if you did a tour there. It's a very different mix of landscapes (i suggest the Laconian side) with an amazing history and they call it the land of stone and light
Not sure if that is his style going to hard to reach places. He goes with his wife and he mixes it up with known tourist areas and visits places that surround. I like his videos as they seem to reach a broad crowd and he does it in a fun pace. Going and doing rick Steve style videos don't seem like a good idea. I think rhodes would fit the format well.
So many beautiful places in the Peloponnese. Lived here in Greece for 35+ years (hubby is Greek). For the last couple of years we have been going to Leonidio (Semeli Apartments - also has great camping site next door). It's not a touristy place but I like the relative peace and it's great for the young grandkids as it's literally right on the beach. Off there again next week for annual holiday.
@@1961Jannie totally! many nice places in the area. And because they are not touristy they maintain a natural beauty and calm that to me is more impressive than squeezing in queues in Santorini :D Enjoy the holiday!
Talk about a James Bond type rescue of the swimming trunks! And thank goodness you did rescue them as you wouldn't have been able to jump off that cliff otherwise!!!! Made me giggle! Fantastic video Tim with brilliant filming of all the places to visit, food, scenic excursions, jumping off cliffs, etc. etc.!! I think you covered just about everything including a traditional Greek night out with plates smashing and ring of fire dancing! Wow. Every video just gets more entertaining and professional.😄 x J x
i think Greece is the gem of europe.its beautiful not much expensive, friendly people, amazing food ,amazing night life ,beautiful women, heavenly landscapes, amazing weather, perfect mood. what else someone will need than that??? iam doing my vacation at this country since 1994 and i feel more greek than danish. i am not lie but greece changed my life ,it gave me will to live.
I like the Zante video do consider Skiathos I think you get it mixed up with santorini skiathos is it’s own island and it’s Europe’s St Martin you see in the Caribbean planes look like they are landing on your head
I did a similar tour here with a local turtle preservation organisation called Archelon via great local travel group Nefis. if they’re out on the water their boat captain yells over a tannoy at anyone going too fast. They’re also really hot on anyone dropping things in the water… 😂
I holidayed in Laganas over 25 years ago when it was still relatively quiet and i wasn't keen, but the rest of Zakynthos is lovely. However, I discovered it's neighbouring island of Kefalonia in 2001 and I've been obsessed with it ever since. I've just come back from a month there, but even that wasn't long enough. It's beautiful, quiet and unspoilt and if you visit the main town of Argostoli, you can't fall to see the majestic loggerhead turtles that live in the lagoon. I think the ones you saw were terrapins as loggerheads are big animals. I've been to Lesvos, Skiathos, Rhodes, Symi, Skopelos, Alonissos and many times to Corfu, but Kef is the only place for me now.
Totally agree, Argostoli is beautiful. Been a couple of times, and stayed in Fiskardo a couple of times as well, really like it there, some great restaurants and bars. Usually stayed In kef going over from staying in Ithaca for a couple of weeks. You been there?
Love Greece. Just back from Lesvos which has really suffered due to the migrant crisis. There are honestly no problems there. Such a beautiful and unspoilt island and our new favourite
Zante is absolutely lovely. I bought a pot of moisturiser from a stall along a road. I love it so much, I still buy it to this day. It comes from Crete. It take a while to get to me and it’s expensive, but so worth it. It’s only got olive oil and aloe Vera in it.
Loved this video Tim as I’ve never been to Greece. Zante looked so pretty, the sea so clear and the sky so blue. I’m amazed you managed to scoop your swim shorts from the sea whilst driving the boat! The Greek night looked good and I loved the traditional music.
I know it doesn't mean a lot to many, but when I saw that the Jasmine had a chunky Vegan section on the menu, my heart soared! That is one thing I worry about going abroad on holiday, finding any (let alone so many on here) vegan options! Awesome!
Fabulous video of a beautiful island Tim. I can’t believe how big the resort of Laganas is now, when I was last there almost 30 years ago it was a relatively small and quiet resort with no huge bars or clubs. The island across from Laganas used to be known as goat island because a billy goat lived there, we took a boat across and we were the only people there. No bars, nothing. It was so lovely seeing the island again and although I love Zante, my favourite Greek island is Skiathos.
Brilliant as usual tim keep them coming especially the foreign country's. . Said before my son put your vlogs towards the big boys you deserve to be the young Michael Palin going around and getting a contract good luck 👍
I loved this excellent vlog Tim,Could be your best ever!..We are thinking of going to one of the Greek Island next year, and Ive visited a few other Greek Islands, but I've never been to Zakynthos before,so now I am tempted to try it out, looking forward to your next vlog
Loved this Tim, looks an amazing place, that sea so clear, you did well jumping from the heights into the sea, well done you 😮,food looked good too. Very friendly people, that's what you need on hols. Thanks for sharing ,bye for now, stay safe xx😊
I spent 10 years worth of summers in Zakynthos, from 1978 to 1988. Haven't been there since. I was shocked to see how many things are still the same, and how many have dramatically changed. "Banana Beach" used to be absolutely empty. Then one year we found a small canteen that only served salads. The next year it had added eggs to the menu. Cut to what I saw in this video...
Great video Tim! I was lucky to get to visit Zante when I was about 20, staying at Kalamaki. Unbelievable place, got to see a turtle swimming with us while on a pedalo
That was brilliant thank you Tim! I went to Zante when I was about 16 and loved it. I remember going to see the shipwreck from the viewing area. I laughed so much when you lost your swimming shorts in the sea but I’m glad you got hold of them! 😂 That Greek night looked lots of fun, I feel like booking up now 😊
@@scullytawoody4852 went to kefalonia last year n was blown away. Rhodes this year. Zante next. So many islands to see. The people are superb. Basicaly paradise
I first went to Zante in 1985, Lagana was pretty quiet a few bars and a couple of small nightclubs. Understand it's become a madhouse of a town. I wouldn't go to Zakynthos now, far too busy. Kefalonia is more to my liking now.
Hi Tim. We are off to Zante in 29 days. My 6th time. I'm staying in kalamaki this time, excellent for families and couples wanting a little more peace. You did get round the island, excellent vlog, many thanks. 😊
Brilliant tour Tim, you definitely sold it to me, looks like a beautiful place to explore… and that was some good value car rental 👍 Could you walk to beach from your hotel?
i first went to Zante Tim 35 years ago, when it actually WAS really cheap. Laganas was only really one road, went back in 2019, but didnt stay in Laganas, too many pissed up kids for me mate. Lovely place though..
@@WalkWithMeTim Laganas used to be pretty much on its own, but now all the resorts are pretty much just one big sprawl , that’s why I went to Argassi, Tsilivi supposed to be nice too, remember sunbathing and feeling 2 earth tremors, the earth literally did move for me Tim, thought they was gonna have another big one like in 1953!
Absolutely love Zakynthos, been 3 times and stayed in Kalamaki next door to Laganas. Lovely little resort, nicely chilled during the day and some lovely bars and restaurants, not too lively but enough to keep you entertained. My favourite Greek islands is Ithaca. Spent many a summer there as my mum used to rep there every year. Very quiet tiny island and very Greek, off the usual tourist route. Very popular with people sailing around the islands. Vathi the capital is lovely and has many big super yachts parked up in the harbour. The locals are so welcoming and it has really great festivals in the summer
I went to Laganas two days after 9/11 . Beautiful island, would definitely recommend. Quite scary watching you on that boat maybe you should’ve worn a life vest 😬. Idiots perched on that cliff top. Loved the video though. X
I went to Zakynthos about 20 years ago and stayed in Alykes. I remember it rained almost every day and there was very little to see or do - Zante town is average. I absolutely adore Greece - Athens, Glyfada, Skiathos, Lesbos, Kos, Corfu, Crete, Saloniki...but I would never EVER return to Zante - there are so many more interesting destinations than Zante for a memorable vacation in Greece/islands.
As a Greek from Athens, I didn’t know that some our patriots charging people to see the view of the the island .I’m really embarrassed, I’m sorry on behalf of them.
I was on one of the last tourists boats to go to that beach and walk on it and see the shipwreck before they closed it last year. I was in Zante 2 weeks ago and back there very soon. My favourite holiday destination
I really liked this video, it brought back many happy memories. I LOVE the Greek islands. Least favourites probably Kefalonia and Lefkada. Hubby and I stayed in Tsilivi Zante back in late 90s, whole island was a different place then. I thought the Balsamic sauce on top of the Greek salad was sacrilege ! 🥗 Thanks Tim for a lovely video 👍👏
Brilliant vid as always Tim ❤ we stayed in Argassi, Zakynthos in 2016 & 2017 and even managed two full daytrips from resort to Kefalonia and Olympia on the mainland. You must take Gaby and Casper ❤ Love love love beautiful Greece 🇬🇷 xx
Thanks Tim, i've never seen Zante before, it has so much to offer. You did a fine job in that boat , and rescuing your trunks ! Lovely, informative video. 🎉☺️🩵
Lovely. We stayed in Kalamaki? I think, not far from Laganas. It was nice - amazing food on Zante. Ive visited Crete, Kefalonia, Corfu and Santorini. I can't pick a favourite as they all have good bits and their own style.
This was a great vlog again I loved that restaurant so nice there are still authentic restaurants in these tourist destinations would you do a Mallorca vlog? 😊
I went on a holiday to Zante when I was 18. Obviously we stayed in Laganas but still hired quads and visited most of the beaches you did. It is a beautiful island, mostly undiscovered by brits as they all think it’ll be full of 18-30 holidays
Always wanted to go to Zante but everyone said no it’s not that nice but your video has shown how beautiful it is. Just have to convince my daughter to go as she wants to go back to Minorca. Great video as always
Another great video Tim. I have been lucky enough to visit nine of the Greek Islands and I think my favorites were Crete, Poros, Rhodes and Skiathos. But saying that, each and everyone I have visited have been lovely in different ways and never had a bad holiday. The Greeks are warm and friendly and the food is delicious. The thing I really like about Greece and its islands is the chilled and relaxed way of life and I always feel content and happy when I am there.
4:50 they dont charge you insurance but they do swipe your credit card....so if you damage it to the tune of 5k and your card can take it they will charge you
I have been going to Rhodes in Greece for the past 3 years in a row this year will be my 4th in September, Zakynthos looks amazing. Hope you had a good time and safe trips onwards!
@@WalkWithMeTim If you ever do, there is an all inclusive hotel called Avra Beach Resort and I've been there constantly. Private Beach, watch planes fly past ready to land, views of Turkey in the distance, 10-15 mins away from Airport, delicious food, lovely rooms and the staff are so friendly that my whole family are friends with them that we are recognised each time we return! Restaurant very nice and modern with nice delicious foods. This hotel is on Jet2 as well. (Not an ad or anything like that for the Hotel + Jet2, just my 'review' or some detail about the Hotel!)
A lovely island Zante is! Selfies by the shipwreck etc, EVERY island has its tourist traps, rip-offs. I would love to go to Zante, a very good vlog, thanks.
Hi Tim. Never been to Greece but planning to go in the future sometime. I loved seeing the totally different beaches. I also like the Greek dancing it was amazing seeing the fire dance.
Another great vid mate! Get some cash man! I travel about Europe a few times a year and always have a few euros lying about in the drawer or wallet for when it comes in handy :)
Hi Tim how loverly this place is I'm definitely going to think about going here next year I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video and I'm so pleased you managed to get your shorts !!! Thankyou so much these videos u do are so helpful and amazing to watch 😊
Wow Tim this brings back memories I adore Greece the people and the food is awesome I’ve been to zante Athens pephkohri and halkadiki I loved halkadiki but it was all so wonderful have been to turtle island did see turtles they were huge you looked so confident in that boat glad you got your shorts an amazing video Tim thankyou ❤️😊
Zante is amazing, we had a week there last september loved it stayed just the over side of tsilivi from where you are. We also went on a day trip over the kefelonia which was beautiful as well and worth a visit.
Thanks for sharing this! I stayed in Laganas 25 years ago with my Mum and Sister and had a lovely time. It was known as the livelier part of the island back then but not as clubby as it is now.
