Kosciuszko NP - Porcupine Rocks 

A circuit walk from Perisher valley to Porcupine rocks.
Spring 2023 #4 : Perisher valley - Perisher gap - Wheatley link to Porcupine gap - Porcupine rocks - Porcupine outcrop - Return via Porcupine trail to Perisher valley.
Distance : 9 km.
Walking conditions : The Kosciuszko road, the footpad along the Wheatley link, the Porcupine trail, and general snow crossings on foot.
Notes : I had intended to walk the Rock creek snow shoe trail (begins next to Rock creek hut), but there was a giant swamp there, so instead decided to walk to Perisher gap and approach Porcupine rocks from the Wheatley link. On the return trip, I followed the upgraded track to Perisher (Porcupine trail) and found the new track head in the process. It is found by following the road behind the 'Man from Snowy River' hotel to a water reservoir. I have read that parking cars up there is very disorganised and that it is best to walk up from the main car park. (03/24)
