Can't believe you did not do a pre-install test of the grips to check everything works. With heated grips from any brand, always hook the grips up to a 12v source before final install.

Yeah, pre-flight the gear. Another guy did a hands-on video and checked them out right out of the package, but didn't to an Install video. :(

@@PasnThrou i saw that; but ya that's slways a good idea because I saw a review of the Apollo grips from somebody and they said they barely heat it up at all oh, so you never know if you might get a bad one out of a bunch of good ones so yes it's always good to pre-wire and check it out.

Aren't you supposed to connect the positive side to a wire that comes of the ignition. To avoid draining the battery?

These are designed to be connected to the battery. They have an automatic shut-off function to avoid killing the battery. I imagine you could wire them to the ignition switch if you prefer.

Working on Japanese bikes, JIS screwdrivers should be used, never a Phillips. A JIS driver will work in Phillips screws but not the other way around. Well, they will until the Phillips tears them up.

1) alcohol is great for providing lubrication and then drying out. properly fit grips don’t need glue. 2) if you need adhesive, try hair spray. Also provides lubrication at first, but then added stickiness. Both hair spray and alcohol provide much more working time than ca glue. 3) should use a relay triggered from a keyed circuit to prevent accidental battery drain

Great video, thanks for sharing. Just installed one on my GSX-S1000. I used a large socket and dead blow hammer to install them. I didn't use the glue yet, which I'll do after a trial run, but I think you're thinking of hairspray. I wouldn't trust it for aggressive use though.

@@CaliMotoTV Good to know. Are you using the supplied glue or a different one? And have you found one that has stayed put? Also, when you're removing them, are you just muscling it off or using something?

Is the tank removal the same for a 2015 fz 09 as this mt 09? I just bought these grips and I have no idea how to remove the tank to install and connect these grips

Hey Bill, I'm wanting to get those for my Pentigale V-4, do you think the throttle side will be too long like it was on the yamaha, or do you think I'll be fine. Did you see the new 2022 Pentigale V-4 has heated grips, well for over $300 it does, i found the appoles for $116.00 threw Dennis Kirk.

I am looking at these now for my r1but i was wondering if they have the low voltage sensor that turns them off automatically if left on when you walk away from the bike. I’ve used Oxford heated grips before and I really like them but I don’t like the feel of the grips anymore. Also the oxfords deteriorate after a winter of almost every day use.

I may just be blind - but what was your thoughts after using these grips for a while? I couldn't find the review anywhere. And it looks like the washer worked as I saw in a more recent vid the bar ends were back on. I just installed these on mine.. Hoping they're good. Need to get a spacer for bar ends now too.

@@CaliMotoTV good to hear. I mostly commute on mine so they should hold up. I ran mine through the switch so they turn on and off with the bike - didn't want to risk the low voltage thing. Love your videos regardless. Easy to see and well explained so easy to follow. Keep it up

Side note - did you buy or fabricate the washer? Been to three shops so far and no luck. Remember the size? Looks like 15mm but no more than 20mm outer ring... Might just fab one
