Seems like a salary cap dump by Detroit, Kostin was a healthy scratch in 8 straight games before playing against the Avs. Detroit should start to consider offloading players at this point. Detroit will get knocked out in the 1st round if they play a top team in the East. We have seen Detroit struggle against top tier teams lately. Is it better to get knocked out in the first round or trade players for prospects and picks to have prolonged playoff success in future seasons?

@rynor7132 he is a Ufa at the end of the year, and he is 35 with a body that is breaking down. The Wings are most likely not going to make the playoffs, and even if they do, they aren't going to win a game. You can get a good return for him.

@@rynor7132We absolutely should trade Kane while his value is this high. We aren't winning the cup this year and it'd be a mistake to re-sign Kane at his age considering the time when he's going to for sure be a drag on our cap in 3-4 years is when we are likely going to make legitimate playoff pushes
