Es is always so so so close to getting it exactly right. They did the muska perfectly. I really hope that proves to the brand if you simply make it just like how it was, we’ll buy it.
Yo, what wrist guards do you use? I use flexmeter d30 'double sided', they're helping a lot for me. I was feeling tendon sheathe pain on the top of my wrist and falling hurt a lot, and it feels like something kinda jutting out on my wrist, but the wrist guards keep my wrist from bending too far back. Falling doesn't immobilize my hand with pain anymore. They were designed by a wrist surgeon, for snowboarding. The cloth materials are really comfy and soft though. But they will save your wrists pretty good.
Cool, I highly recommend them!! They help me skate and heal. They should stop your wrist motion at a specific angle. After that the plastic digs into your index finger a bit rarely. Could probably smooth it out with some sandpaper (or stick some foam). Do you know what bone you broke? (oh. your thumb. saw the video lol) How long did you wear those pins? I got back into skating four months ago and I decided to avoid shove-its (without the pop) right from the start. And to not skate bulky, hard shoes. But I did both the other day, and I ended up having to learn how to massage my cuboid back into place twice. My left foot still feels like a rock kinda but I'm locking in the shove-its I think. I've always been scared of injuries to my hand especially, and carpal tunnel. Your injury happened on a skateboard? I feel like skaters damage their wrists too much to care about making sure it heals right every time you slam; and it accumulates over time for some. @@RealLifeSkater
Thanks! That’s fun glad you’re back at it! Yeah I broke it skating but I didn’t fall. Just smacked it on a rail. Even with guards I think it would have broke because that whole base of thumb is exposed with the guards, at least mine. I fall on hands a lot but never broke anything, ever. Just a really crappy random occurrence. I’m still wearing the splint with guards for now…maybe go down to just guards in couple months. I had the pins in for 5 weeks. I love pop shuvits. More comfy than ollies for me. I skated today and will drop a video of the sesh with the theme “getting back to skating after an injury (specially 35+) haha. Thanks for watching!
it would be a crime against humanity if they didnt release a navy colorway, i always thought it was the most popular colorway back in the day. btw thanks for the catalog
I’m 41 and been getting back into skating, posting videos. I usually only wear wrist guards on ramps, but maybe wouldn’t be a bad idea to wear them more until I get some general mobility back and fall without getting hurt
Most def. That's always the first place I fall. Wearing them even got me thinking I may occasionally rock some elbows too. Get that confidence to try shit. Then maybe for the clips I pop em off once I feel comfortable.
I never cared about the koston 2. I had several of the og es koston 1, even the lakai ones(disappointing). I like the 197 and probably prefer the new sole and lack of bubble
Wow, I def like the older K1 sole by far... not even close. But glad you're digging it. I kinda feel that way about the new K2 sole on the 298s. The orig was a bit too bulky for me. The K1s def were a bigger deal for me back in the day. I got two 197s. But I still remember being pumped about the K2s. It's fun collecting. I'll prob spend $$ on any throwback haha
I had them back in the day and altho iam not a huge fan of thebnew sole in the first pics it has grown on me and my buddy showed me.pics of his skate ship day ones and they are super nice from all the angles . I got the bred colorway enroute for full. Heard word it may come out a bit early . Later summer . Hope that's true
Nice! Yeah I def prefer this switch vs the Koston 1 sole they changed. Would be amazing to have the air bubble and original sole on that. This one doesn’t look too bad
6:05 _"so why can't we have 'em now, then?"_ It's because tooling for sneakers is incredibly expensive, so they have to pick and choose which to bring back, and the ones they went with are the Tribo and the Muska.
@@RealLifeSkater yeah the outsole they used doesn’t work with it but the muska & accel og outsole looks pretty good on it from the skate shoe dreams page mash ups
@user-uk3gk6rf7v I swear the two nine 8 also feels/looks a bit poofier from the top while wearing than the originals. Like the sides bow-out. I’m gonna get some shorter/slightly wider laces. The laces are tiny
@@RealLifeSkater yeah every time they do a re issue I wait cause they’re making most these off photos and memory so takes awhile to get them tooled proper I mean they seem to still be tweaking the es accel og every colorway
I like the black and red, that's what I had as a kid. Man they kind of butchered the koston 1s in my opinion. I just ordered the creagers, I always wanted those but didn't get them when they came out long time ago
With Koston on Nike it won't happen, that's why éS had to change the sole.. we need him to drop Nike or they give him the ok to collab with another shoe brand, then we'd get exact reissues... Like the creager and muska. K2s are my all time favorites I wore them for 6 years straight in 13 different color ways... BéSt. ShoéS. Ever!!
I got excited about a " koston 2 " retro , The originals were not suppoed to be like other skate shoes .. The new shape looks awful ! Plus they released it in the " koston 3 " color way .. - I had the original grey / yellow / blue in 97 and it is still one of my favourie shoes what a shame ..
Yeah they’re def dropping the ball on the midsoles. I’m sure we’d all pay at least $25 more on top of the current price to get the full original shoe of these rereleases
