Over the last Week, April 18th-25th, I transported the ONE & ONLY Kraken 52 Flybridge Power Catamaran From Pompano Bay, Florida, to the New Haven, Connecticut area, in 7 DAYS!
Built by the Howe (Michael & Geoffrey) Brothers, ‪@Howe2Live‬ the same men who also Invented the Ripsaw Tanks for the U.S Military, the Kraken 52 is THE Worlds first Quad 600 V12 Luxury Sport 4 Cabin OffShore Outboard Catamaran. It is the industry's first lightweight full size multi-cabin (4) luxury performance catamaran, designed to reach speeds of modern high performance center consoles but with the ride and efficiency of a catamaran, reaching speeds over 60+ mph.

Yeah at wide open throttle she’s thirsty, but consider if you’re in weather that you should get ahead of… speed overshadows the fuel burn. Most of the time it’s closer to 0.5mpg and if you slow cruise, you can kill two outboards, trim them up and get up to 1.6mpg at speeds up to 12-14 knots.

I really like the performance of the Kraken, but could someone post videos of the interior of the Kraken the staterooms, the head and shower and the kitchen area. Thanks

We just shot some wrap up videos this morning. The boat you see here is hull #1 proof of concept and so the interior was not fully finished out as one might expect. It is quite functional and was extremely comfortable over the seven day trip as well as the trip to the Bahamas. The next DSK #Kraken will be the coupe with the same power and a fully equipped interior!

Efficiency is the first reason. Lack of maintenance required compared to comparable diesel power available. Huge advantage in power vs weight as the two 600hp outboards per side weigh less and cost less than say one Volvo D13 making only 900hp thru a single prop without the advantage of having a two-speed gearcase for incredible holeshot performance. Doing this trip in the 52’ Sunseeker with twin diesels would have taken twice the fuel as it burns 85 gallons per hour at half the speed of the Kraken. The maintenance on the Volvos is also far more expensive as our past trips required changing fuel filters twice because diesel fuel has bio growth when sitting at marina locations. A set of filters is $2k per trip, which is quadruple the cost for four Mercury outboards. The outboards also are a fraction in cost if say a prop is damaged as an IPS set of props are $17k per side! Shaft or pod drivers could never have made it into the marina I wrapped up the trip at low tide in only two feet of water by trimming them up to 30%. I can also shut down two of the outboards, trim them up to run on only two for slow cruising, netting over 1.4mpg while in the ICW No wake zones. There’s also no generator on board… everything is powered by the outboards charging coupled with solar. Both A/C and heat were used throughout the trip. Does this help?

Because I think no one ever pays attention to No Wake signs in that area.
