Hey, you can get the pinion out easier, only thing you need to do is remove the two screws on top of the sliding motor mount, and the one under. Then you can just slide it out holding it in your hand and change it from there. Great video showing that heat is neccesary 👍
Great tutorial 👌. I managed to round off the bottom motor mount due to not applying enough heat. It was a pain to extract because its buried behind the chassis but after 1 half hours got it out. Arrma and their threadlock addiction 🤨 Anyhow this is the best pinion change tutorial I've seen. Good job.
Wanted to let anyone know who is changing the pinion on the kraton 8s there is a way easier way. I noticed I could only find a few videos online showing this done and both that I found take apart alot of things. I simply used a micro heat gun from Amazon for $20, ten seconds on the two top motor mount bolts and ten seconds on the one under chasis and simply removed the entire motor. Not necessary to remove anything else at all. Once out another ten seconds on the pinion set screw, put new one on and applied new locktite on all 4 bolts removed. Took me less than 10 minutes start to finish and I never done it before.
@rcusa201 damnnn 120 thats sick bro but yea i feel u on that luckily for me the pinion cant fall out due to thr tight spacing on the kraton but if it came loose on the infraction itd be a different story lol but i feel that i just wonder how hard its going to be removing it but worse case scenario i remove the whole motor off the mount thatll make it easier to heat up
@@MoBay876rc will i get over 50 mph??? Is a 23t pinion a good choice, and what other simple tune could I do without compromising the truck to improve speed(pls help me!!!)
@@rcusa201 my stock pinion came loose on its own so I got lucky. I just loosened the top bolts and that was it. I went with a 23t pinion. 26t I think it's too much for the stock electronics TBH.
I'm waiting for my Kraton, to be delivered in a few days. I'm trying to decide on either the 25t pinion or 26t pinion. Are there any temperature issues on the Motor and ESC with the 26t pinion installed? I want it to wheelie easily, so I'm going to up the punch to 4 or 5 & Chang the pinion.
