It looks badass and actually good. So what we need to do is stop expecting a masterpiece and just enjoy the action and performances Here. If you walk away satisfied, support and promote it.
So, and maybe it’s just me, am I the only one that views the animated Spiderverse stuff separate from the live action movies? Every time John references the animated stuff when he talks about how Sony hasn’t made all bad Spider-Man stuff recently, my mind always screams “that stuff doesn’t even belong in the same paragraph.”
100% agreed. It's so bafflingly absurd to me. I look at it as Sony Animation actually knowing what they're doing, versus Columbia Pictures flailing around helplessly and embarrassingly with their live-action projects. By lumping them together, it's like giving Columbia Pictures undeserved credit for someone else's work (since, regardless of the producers, Sony Animation's division clearly has better management), just because they all report to the same big boss.

Venom is relevant in the comic/video game/pop culture space. Morbius and madame web are long forgotten characters and kraven was cool in the 80’s for 6 issues. Have we forgotten they attempted el muerto? Sonys clutching at straws
Kraven wasn't delayed to Christmas because "the studio has faith in it". We all know why it was delayed to Christmas and it has absolutely nothing to do with the actual film
@@makeroomfordoom @M3m3l0rd12 No. The film was delayed to December because Cobra Kai was announced to be spread over 3 parts going into 2025. As such, they pushed the Karate Kid reboot back to 2025 and wanting to keep the Christmas date they pushed Kraven to then.
This has nothing to do with the quality of Kraven. Sony has lost a lot of money this year. Christmas box office is the best way to ensure Kraven gets more money than it deserves.
Sony is underestimating the hype of Sonic 3 with Sonic and Shadow. Would end up like Morbius with how that came out a week before Sonic 2 and flopped, so same thing is happen again
For me it's an "if I friend asks, I'll go see it", but...I'm easy, so I'll see almost anything under that condition. Otherwise I might just watch it at home later. It's not a "gotta see it in theater" for me. Not sure for whom it would be.
I don’t understand why Madame Web was made in the first place. I really wanted to see Silver and Black. To me Black Cat and Silver Sable are much more known and compelling characters
I remember how hyped I was for that first Venom. Even getting the vibe from the trailer, that it wasn’t going to be very good. And man, I was so disappointed leaving that theater, And it remains not only my least favorite Spider-Man related film, But the worst of the Sony Spin-offs, including Morbius. I grew up watching the 90s animated series and the Raimi films, Being around my uncle who was even deeper a fan, having posters of Venom, Carnage, Morbius, Nightwatch, Deathlock, so on. So I always get a little excited for the next movie Sony puts out, even knowing I’ll likely be disappointed. I honestly didn’t hate Madame Web, finding it to be the most enjoyable of the Sony spin-offs, Even if it isn’t very good. Even though this movie has some red flags, and they likely have shown us the end of the movie in the trailer, I once again am getting excited. My hope, is with the more grounded nature of the story, the talent involved, And the learning experiences they’ve had over the past 6 years, That they’ve improved their efforts with this one.
I was excited for Morbius and curious about Madam Web. After the let down for both I am neither excited nor curious for Kraven and have no intention of watching it in theaters.
Kraven looks stupid. Getting his powers by being bitten by a lion? Really? We all know his arch enemy got his powers from being bitten by a Spider. The MCU should've adapted Kraven's Last Hunt. It would be better than Kraven vs Rhino, (who probably got his powers by being bitten by a Rhino.) Take the live action rights away from Sony please.
I give all the movies a chance but this is definitely not the comic DeMatteis Kraven who was defined by his hunt for Spider-Man and suicidal tendencies and inner turmoil. Death meant actual rest for him from his inner turmoil and childhood wounds after he bested Spider-Man.
i'm not excited for Kraven but i will watch it anyway cause it's a super hero type of movie and it's a genre that i like. i liked to hear you guys thougthts during this video
To me, it’ll be hard to top the depiction of Kraven in the Spiderman 2 game. They really set the bar high for what people can expect with this character. Even though it’s a different medium, I think it could still play a factor in perception
Yeah high hopes that's why it was delayed so many times because they believe it's going to be successful, not that originally it was terrible and through multiple rewrites and re-shoots the product that there left with to them is good enough to please the masses at least that's what they're hoping and believing, unfortunately even if it's decent what's next for the character 2 more movies with him as a anti hero again or they'll go down the Joker method with full villain storyline but with no Spider-Man it'll just be another Black Adam situation.
The dumb thing is they should have put Venom in it. If they did Last Hunt, substituting Spiderman with Venom that would have caused massive buzz. Heck you could even throw in Morbius in some form. But Sony doesn't seem to think when it comes to these projects.
They didn't even mention that sony is releasing Kraven movie in the same month for sonic 3. Also with other movies coming out in December it can hurt Kraven at the box office. That was a really poor decision for sony to do that and the Kraven movie is rated R. Plus thanks to Madame web and Morbius it seems sony made things worse for Kraven and maybe Venom 3 as well. Because of those movies people will hesitate to see those movies in theaters.
Sorry, but I just don't trust the producers and studio executives over when it comes to live action, because they thought Morbius and Madem Web were good ideas too, and outside of that, they thought the Tom Holland Uncharted movie was a good idea. At this point, it's clear that only Sony Animation or Playstation (specifically Insomniac) are the only ones who know how to handle the Spider-Man IP with respect.
All this movie needs so be successful is a solid story and good interesting action scenes As long as it’s a fun time i think people will see it It’s not like it has the biggest budget and needs to make a billion at the box office
I really have no interest in seeing the Kraven. I mean he's not a major villain or character in the Spidey Universe and no one...no one outside of comic fans has any idea who the Kraven character is so unless the marketing is brilliant I don't see this movie going anywhere.
The second Suicide Squad was a good movie but flopped because the consumers lost faith in DC. And every DC movie was better than Morbius and Madame Web. Even if Kraven is good it's going to flop.
I don't think IF the movie ends up being somehow good / gets good reviews ..will still flop. Word of mouth will travel / reviews will be seen or read so it may bring people to see it. But it will definitely flop if the movie ain't good / gets bad reviews.
Eh, writers are a mixed bag you’ve got Richard Wenk who wrote the 3 Equalizer movies and the latest Magnificent 7, but you also have the duo who did Uncharted, MIB: International, and Transformers: The Last Knight. Along with a relatively green director, I’m expecting another Sony Marvel “masterpiece”.
If they think they have a hit with Kraven why did they keep delaying it? Hopefully kraven flops and Sony gives up on Spider-Man and sells the rights to marvel
I tried to watch Madame Web on Netflix and couldn’t make it through the first 5 minutes. As soon as the chic started to go into labor in the jungle with the god awful acting and writing. Felt like a 2 year old wrote the lines. I had to turn it off. It was so bad.
after finally watching Madame Webb on Netflix, the other day, I realize that it has a worse version of the same exact plot from that newer Power Rangers movie. Evil Spider-Man equals Rita repulse. Madame Webb equals Zoran. The spider girls equal the Power Rangers. It’s just that this movie is even worse than that one.
Have sony delayed it because they need Aarons popularity to be up because hes the new bond ? To have it be released now and its seen the new bond is in a bombing franchise before they announce it would be damaging.
Honestly, Venom 2 felt warm for me, but Morbius and Madam Web 🕸 left a bad taste in people's mouth that I think will linger and carry over to Kraven. I think the aforementioned films already did damage to the Sony live action brand.
Venom 2 wasn’t good. A sign a movie isn’t that good. Is when the only thing people are talking about when they come out of your movie is, the after credits scene
I’m gonna give the movie a chance. I’ll admit when I hurd they were doing a kraven movie I was not excited at all I just rolled my eyes. Iv never liked kraven, not in the games or shows. And iv seen/ played every game and show he’s in. But when I saw the trailer I liked what I saw and I was interested, so I’m gonna go see it and give it a fair chance. (Also I’m just happy they didn’t give him that stupid annoying accent where he talks in the 3rd person)
The Phantom Menace is a really good movie but you think it's crap. The Venom movies are pure cheese, but you love them. Why do you think you can recommend anything to anybody??? You clearly don't have good taste.
I’m watching this while one the toilet. And the absolute toxic sludge coming out of me right now would be better enjoyed by the masses than another Sony spidermanless spider man movie.
Bad casting. This role was made for Karl Urban - Missed opportunity (yes he’s in the MCU, Marvel do recycle their actors). Kraven just has the grit and ruggedness, this guy they got just looks to fckboyish and looks like he played the main bf in a Taylor Swift music video. It sucks what Sony is doing to these characters
