Luckily it was a grade 1 or mild right soleus strain which is more manageable. The only thing now is how his calf will react positively on the treatment and rehabilation process.

@@kingmark4233sounds about right. But knowing the Celtics they’ll play game 1 and 2 without him. If we lose they’ll bring him back to help. If we win, just save him for the finals. Maybe play him on the last game of ecf. Always the hardest game!!

I’m more encouraged. KP says stronger than the first time injuring the calf against Orlando on Nov 24th. He was out 14 days until Dec 8th against the Knicks. Oddly two teams we could face in the playoffs. Sounds like it will be 3 weeks with no set backs. Aggressive would be 2 weeks I guess but this should probably take 4 weeks to be safe. I worry about re injury and ramping up to playoff pace.

So many things here after the dust is now settled. Firstly the closing out of the Miami series is very underrated, sure KP gets time for recovery but now Al gets a good break before the next round. Also, I’m curious to see how the Jays settle into the next round. It’s been a minute since we’ve had a playoff series end in 4/5 games. I’m hoping they lock in slowly, mentally before tip off. I also think with KP out of the picture at least for the next round and possibly ECF. It might be the space needed to get Tatum going offensively, for the most part he’s left the load to others but I think he’ll be fantastic in the next round. So the story goes, KP is out. The jays come guns blazing and win the next round. KP returns mid ECF and we cruise to the finals. Hopefully earlier than the west so we’re rested and ready to go.

Hey John i wanted to get your thoughts based on next round matchup and the bench. I feel if we play the cavs Luke should get most of the minutes but if Orlando I feel Tilman matches up better. What do you think?

Luke should get most of the minutes against either. In fact luke is needed more vs. the magic because they are tall as hell. X however would be needed more vs. the magic than the cavs as we'd need to go double big more often vs. the magic who goes triple big. Franz is also a big dude for a wing. We'd need less of jrue, pp or sam unless they're shooting the 3 well. cavs are the better matchup as allen and wade are injured. They are small now and our guards can handle their guards. The magic cant shoot but they have the matchup advantage against us without KP. so it would be time to break out the zone. It will be a physical matchup as the magic are a physical team (though not dirty unlike the heat). Cs wings and guards have to crash the glass.

Well John, God-Willing this'll be the LAST time KP gets injured this season. We knew coming in that 7 foot 3 guys are highly susceptible to injury seemingly everywhere from the hips down, yet Boston Medical kicked freaking ass in my opinion - pardon my French - by keeping KP in all but 25 games this season, which was like EXACTLY what Brad expected by the way, so I'm not in the least concern that that trend will continue. We'll be fine anyway, even without KP I truly believe, but it'd be a MUCH easier road with "The Original Unicorn" on the floor. 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀 still = 18 No matter who's in the game!

Yup. All the more reason not to rush KP and risk him for next season. Earliest KP can be back is middle of ECF but finals is more likely.

Not encouraged. Sounds like a grade 2 sprain. I'm more encourafed by JB practicing FTs news. His FT% has been unacceptable this playoffs, shooting below 50% and missing at least 2 FTs per game.. Earliest KP will be back is middle of the ECF unless knicks/pacers go 7. whats more likely is KP is back by the finals instead and we have to figure out how to beat the knicks/pacers without KP.

I think we can beat the knicks without Kp. they dont have randle either. Starter matchups: jalen brunson vs. d.white Jrue vs. josh hart Jb vs. OG JT vs. achiuwa Al vs mitchell Cs need to focus on rebounding and shutting down everyon else (brunson will get his). Whats important is the role players dont get going.
