I hate this narrative becuase it is a lie. Every single stat outside scoring tatum leads. He accepted all the defensive pressure and even through struggling scoring wise didnt fold. If brown was in a slump and was the target of double and triple teams, would he have facilitated and raised tatums level of play like tatum did for him and everyone else? Tatum lead the team, with the entire defenseive strategy to stop him, and still assisted his way as a leader to help the team. Brown just did his job, allow tatum to attract the double team, wait for tatum to make the right read which he always does, find the open man, and if it gets into browns hands with the entire defense out of roation trying to double tatum use the 1 v 1 iso to get a bucket. Brown did and conjtinues to do that job well, but that job is insurmountably harder, if tatum isnt the guy free him up on offense and making the smart play out of the double team so brown can score. All that and tatum still goes for 31. And if not 31 he is pulling in 12 assists like he is magic johnson. come one now. Dont let the tough buckets and flashy dunks fool you tatum ran the entire offense like a war time general

Brown still struggles going left and doesn’t have a great mid range bag. He’s offensively limited but can get away with a lot in today’s game. Definitely not a tmac or Kobe. He’s a very good defender though. Tatum has a solid bag for sure but he needs more refinement. He’s still the better overall player between the two for sure. Boston is definitely the best team this year. I do believe that the nuggets or lakers give them a challenge; even the wolves would’ve been a better matchup than the mavericks, but Luka and Kyrie were clicking and made it difficult. There were too many injuries and bad matchups for teams this year, but it’s all apart of the game.
