Hindsight is 20/20. They offered him a lead role and a lot more money. If you're offered lead/more money, there is no way you're not going to take the job. It's the risk one takes. It's unfortunate that it didn't work out in his favor, but that is the business.
I went to HS with Kristin and she was as adorable then as she is now. I was really bummed when this show was cancelled. It was on in the summer instead of in the Fall when all new shows come out. It's a real shame. We all know though, like Kristin and Ellen who both has comedy's that were super funny, they came out on top.

Lucile Ball was gorgeous in old age and I think your just a little prettier than her although that may be a little un-pc. Love you. Love your look. Please allow me to appreciate your age.
