As a huge fan of Oscar, I am literally blown away by your feeling, especially, while you have a classical background. The notes are here (which is in itself a huge achievement) but also the accents, the swing! Congrats, kudos!
My Favorite parts in this piece are you playing the "ragtime-parts" if I may call them that way! Such enjoyment while playing is seldom showed! Congratulations with this marvelous performance!
@@kristinamiller891 When I found your celestial renditions of Cziffra's TT Polka & Liszt's S.139-10 nearly 3 years ago, I became immediately your admirer. Your recordings are awesome and delightful. I'm glad to see your new work today.
I hope you do more great songs like this all the great jazz standards. You are definitely one of my favorite piano players and I think Oscar Peterson would be proud. when I first heard your performance I thought wow I was really amazed and blown away I loved it. thank you Christina for giving us such wonderful music to listen to on RU-vid.
I just left you a complementary comment regarding your Oscar Peterson recordings but I did forget to mention your amazing facial expressions which show’s just how much you are enjoying playing Oscar’s music and you are really into it and ‘digging’ it thanks again Kristina you are amazing !
Hi Kristina. I've recently discovered you on RU-vid and I see you read the comments so I'd like to say how much I've been enjoying your videos, and say how astounded I am by your technique, also your lyrical playing, often slipped inbetween barn storming virtuosity. Thank you so much for the pleasure you are giving me, and all these other commentators who are equally knocked out by your talent!
This lady demonstrates what is possible on the piano. Her technique is as close to perfection as any I have witnessed in a long life. Fabulously dexterous, yet completely relaxed. Amazing and inspirational. Islamay, Oscar Peterson, you name it, Kristina will play it as well as it can be played or even imagined. Bravo to the 10th power.
Hi Kristina I am a great fan of yours, this is a request more than a comment is it possible for you to make a video of Ocar Petersons ‘Oscars Boogie’ I’m sure all of your fans worldwide would love to hear you play it😊 thank you so much. Colin Forte
I found Kristina a month ago when I did a search for Oscar Peterson and classical. I found her "Back to Indiana" performance and was blown away. I'm just a budding piano student but I know greatness. I've been leaving RU-vid comments here and there about this video. Maybe her RU-vid fame will sky rocket some day like Domi and Cory Henry's. Today it's 13,146 views. If it skyrockets maybe I can say I helped.
Fantastic as always, your fingers are simply dauntless! I’d love to hear you play Tatum’s Lulu’s Back in Town. It seems unplayable but you could probably do it.
Thank you so much! Well, I think the most important is not to be afraid of making mistakes and than learn from them. Very often we stress ourselves because of fear to make mistakes. If they happen while practicing, be productive and try to understand WHY they happen. Its important to analyze everything you do before repeat it. Hope that helps! Take care!
Greetings. I do not know for sure, but when I look at you It seems like the fact that you're playing an Oscar Makes you great inner pleasure. And no less important ... it was a pleasure to see and hear You're playing. (Oscar. Wow). I wish you success in the future ..... And stay as charming as you are. Thank you.
@@kristinamiller891 Talk about modesty!! Your beauty is inspiring dear Kristina. A rare mix of royal elegance and nobility. Maybe in another life you used to be a Queen??
I love how you can play very fast like Oscar Peterson Oscar Peterson Hass to be one of my favorite jazz pianist besides our Tatum and I think that your performance is really fantastic I absolutely love it you should do songs like play Saint James infirmary and squeaky’s blues that’s another Oscar Peterson can I just love how musically and fast you can really play and you were definitely one of my favorite pianist favorite pianist ever Have you thought about doing any CDs of jazz standards or Oscar Peterson stuff? Oscars but he hast to be one of my favorite tunes.
Dear Emma, this one is not everything from ear as there is score online (just I had to listen to some places and than play as they were not correct in the score, compared to what he really played. But many other jazz pieces I do play by ear, when no score exist!
Kristina, you really should upload more videos of the jazz pieces that you play by ear! You are one of the rarest classical pianist, most of them dont improvise and they dont even play by ear let alone playing anything other than classical! Show more of your talent dear 💓💓
You are a wonderful pianist.Do you actually improvise a piece of music and play it differently every time you play it or do you memorize it note for note
2 : 13 IS A GREAT ADVANTAGE THAT OSCAR HAS , A HUGE HAND THAT ENABLE HIM TO STRIDE WITH TENTH INTERVAL IN A FAST TEMPO AT EASE .. ITS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO EXECUTE WITHOUT A HUGE HAND ..I AM WAITING FOR YOU TO PLAY MIRAGE OR CARAVAN BY OSCAR ..I HOPE I COULD MY REQUEST COULD BE HEARD..:)AND ALL YOUR CLASSICAL PIECE PERFORMANCES ARE ALSO PERFECT...I AM A BIG FAN OF YOU,KRISTINA..BRAVO..
Yes, thats true! His hands are huge and thats amazing! I have big hands for woman, but of course not as big as his or Rachmaninov's (and thats why need to break some chords...:))) I want very much to play Caravan, Mirage already did! Its amazing!
@@kristinamiller891 EVEN A WORLD CLASS PIANIST LIKE YOU ARE EAGER TO PLAY OSCAR'S MUSIC..HE IS AN AMAZING LEGEND.. MAYBE,SHOULD LISZT COULD MEET OSCAR N SEE HOW HE PLAYED,HE WOULD BE AMAZED BY OSCAR TOO... ANYWAY,KRISTINA..CANT WAIT FOR YOUR NEXT VIDEOO😀 YOU GOT A HUGE FAN HERE... I HOPE I COULD WATCH U PLAY,LIVE SOMEDAYY 🙏
Thank you dear Emma! To be really honest, I never played scales or exercises (because I was always too inpatient for that...) Instead I took all Etudes from Chopin, Liszt etc. and played all books just through every day, first it was not easy at all, but than got used to it. I think we have so many scales etc. in the program, so no need really to practice them separately as we have them all the time in pieces. But people are all individual, I know some pianist, who swear on scales and exercises. We all need to find the best for us, sometimes not to listen to 'what others say' is the best advice:)))) Respect YOUR hands and try to find whats working the best way for you! All the best, take care!
@@kristinamiller891 omg thank you for answering! You know ever since i saw you play i have been trying my hardest to play piano like you. To play the piano as light as you! I changed the way i play bc of you! My fingers are still weak but compared to last year my playing has become lighter and it was all because of you! My goal is to play as light as you and as good as you are. I really think you underrated and you deserve more fame! In my personal opinion, you are better than most of the well known classical pianists today!!! 💓💓
