Part II here - • Krone BiG X 1100 - Far... The Krone BiG X 1100 is often misunderstood by newer players because it is categorized as a harverster, but my friends its SOOO much more.
Like most people, I had written the "Big X" off due to bad information. Then I stumbled across this video. Intrigued, I decided to sell crap-tons of silage so I could try it. I absolutely love it! Thank-you so much for the in-depth analysis. I am now a new sub to your channel and am catching up on all your other vids. Great work! Much appreciated!
Believe it or not I've just discovered this game on my old xbox 360. Your tutorials are awesome and have been invaluable to properly get started. Thanks so much for all your work.🤘
I only watch your channel when it comes to ANY and ALL Farming Simulator videos. I have always wanted to do the cows in my game and watching this video has really opened up my eyes to a new world to silage. Please keep the videos coming!!! Your doing a great job and have so many tips and tricks to show and I have used %90 of the game. Thank you!!!
you just saved me hours and hours i was using the mower then the windrower then the loading trailer for silage, now i can just use the krone with the corn! much faster thanks man!
+Brad Pierson Don't forget that grass is a great way to use it too. Grass is free and you don't have to plant or fertilize it, Corn does get it done faster though.
oh my goodness how did I miss this video no more mass mowing then wind row etc this saves about 10000 hours of time, amazing idea and thanks for sharing so awesome!!
I've seen a lot of people say that another name for its is a chopper (which they obviously know more then you do) but regardless what a chopper does is chops up the material being fed into it and shoots it all out one pipe. It's sort of like a lawn mower, it chops the material up finely. The other self propelled Harvesters in this game are different because they separate the seed from the plant and stores the seed in the top while it spits the rest out on the ground (aka the byproduct). I found that the fliegl 226 is the biggest wagon that I can hook up to the Harvester but you can hook as many together as you want. You are also limited on how big of a tractor can pull it as well so the biggest tractor I can pull it with is the case 160. As long as you don't have a trailer attached to the chopper you can hire someone to drive it then you can hook three wagons up until them up at once giving you a total of 96000 which is 37000 more than the largest trailer on the game.
I am a farmer and this is a chopper my family owns 4 john deere choppers we do custom work for dairys and feedlots in Nebraska Iowa and South Dakota thanks for properly describing the machine I envoy your videos and this game
Personally, I always thought the Krone Big X 1100 looked sort of like a giant driveable vacuum cleaner. Also, I can't stand pulling even a single trailer that has a second pivot point like the two you attach to your Krone in this video. If I ever bother using them, I basically give up being able to ever drive my vehicle in reverse without looking like I'm derailing a train in reverse. Fantastic videos as always; haven't found a one of your tutorials, or other Farming Simulator videos, that I haven't enjoyed. This is the kind of stuff I watch whenever I can't play the game myself.
if you don't hook a trailer to the Krone you can hire driver for you. and you can use larger tippers with tractor to follow. Other good thing about that is that it will stop when you get filled so you have less waist for that reason.
interesting. I will have to try that. I haven't seen a "hire worker" dialog, but I haven't run the crone without a trailer either. I just watched the product video for the real one and it seems like they all do it that way.
You can even set up 2 BigX side by side, hire 2 workers, and then drive a Tractor with a huge trailer between them.Looks awesome and fills up your trailer in seconds, but you have to buy 2 BigX, pay 2 workers and turn them at the end of the firld manually. But it looks awesome, if i havent said that already.
One more thing about silage, you only need to ferment it firdt time, and when you dumping it,don't empty whole bin or whatever it's called :D live just 1000 l in it and bring new chaff or grass, and it will automatically ferment into silage :D May be a glitch n the game I don't know, but I'm playing 1.3 version and it is happening, just like in 1.1 version.
Arthur Chapman I'm glad that you could "translate" and understand what I wrote in comment :D I was so tired (just got back from work) and English is not my native language. I'm sorry for bad spelling. LoL :D It look like cheating to me too, but, that's in game < is it a glitch or what I dont know but it is useful :D
Arthur Chapman And just now I've tried that once more in 1.3 and on other pc I've installed 1.1 version and tried that. In 1.3 now says "grass is not accepted here" :D and just yesterday it could be done :D But on 1.1 version you can do it as long as you wish :D
Hey man I've lived on a farm since I was 7. My first job was on a farm, we even raised egg layers and meat birds ourselves for a number of years. I'm 25 now still living in the middle of nowhere, on a farm, and I love this game!
Lol so true it literally just takes the whole thing not the chaff that's why it fills so quick, also it's a direct cut head and a hay pickup head😂😂😂🤦♂️🤦♂️
This is awesome!! Defiantly going to using the EasyFlow to get crop and chaff. With CoursePlay as well, the combine can run its course and then the Krone can use the same course to pick up the chaff.
Not that this will ever be read by anyone, as for efficiency, you can also note that you have to plow and plant separately for corn where as you can do both in one pass with canola, barley, and wheat.
+iTz_Bruce_Banner That is a good point - the larger seeders cultivate as you go, except for Potatoes, Sugar Beets and Corn, that have to be cultivated separately. Still, Corn gives you the best yield for a planted crop. Grass and Straw are still the most efficient cause grass is free, and straw is a by-product.
+Arthur Chapman Ah! Should have looked further. I discovered it while messing around. Noticed the auger followed a trailer when I drove past it. Made about $1.5 mill in good time after that. A heavy rigid truck between two conveyers at the biogas plant sped up the process. I guess (without searching your channel) you have already seen/tried that.
I like doubling the fleigl trailers adds up to 640002 then I hook 6 of them and haul to my trench or biogas plant . But my tractor takes a beating. Fleigl is the biggest trailer that can be hooked to big x but can't go any higher than a 230 hp tractor.
what it does is chop up the whole plant including the seeds and makes silage or chaff as you call it, you do not lose the seeds it is chopped up along with the plant.
+JamesCrowonline - this is true - I didn't explain it correctly. What I was trying to say was that you lose the "harvest" by chopping it up, seeds and all - if you Harvest the wheat or barley first and THEN use the easy flow to pick up the straw swath you get both your grains to sell (your "harvest") AND your chaff to make silage. Does that make sense?
Yes that is correct - however, in real life the almost never make the harvester pull any kind of trailer while it works, so I try to keep them smaller.
As far as efficiency, yield rate would also reflect time no?You have to cultivate before you sow corn, correct? So with yields "almost" as good with grains as corn, don't you win with grains because there's no cultivating? Excellent vids too btw! I'm on 360 btw..
+Someone Diff'rent That is a very good point - I am going to have to break down and make a "Silage Q & A" video were I test out all these questions. You may be right. Glad you are enjoying the vids :).
+barrie mcdermid correct. Sometimes I will attach 4 and swap to out once the front 2 are full. Honestly, prototypically, you would use a tractor to run alongside the harvester, and the tractor would pull the trailers. I haven't seen any actual video of a Krone (or any forager) pulling trailers like they do in this game.
you can use the 3rd tipper and attach up to 4 of them but it will only fill 2 at a time, its way easier to hook up than those tippers hes using in the video and they hold 32000 each
Great vid. Totally understand what that thing does now. Thanks for making such informative and fun and helpful videos. Now show me how the hell you are able to get those two agroliners together. Lol. Thanks again for the great videos!
If you go real slow you may be able to do it, but I know what you are saying - I usually just shove the lead cart with my tractor until its lined up, and then connect them.
The hired workers only do field work, so plowing, cultivating, seeding, fertilizing and harvesting. They will not ever pull trailers unless you are using the "course play" mod. For the silage harvesters, you can only hire a worker when doing corn, and you will have to follow next to him with a tractor and trailers while he harvests. Does that make sense?
+Arthur Chapman ah, OK yeah that makes sense. Was just wondering cause I planned to get a test world going for trying out mods by doing silage. thanks!
for your test map, start a new game and save it. Once its saved and the game is closed go into your game folder (the same folder where the mod folder is). Go into your "savegamexx" folder where your test farm is saved. open the "careersavegame.xml" file with note pad. In there look for your money, and you can give yourself any amount you want. Be sure to save the file when exiting. Now when you log back in you will have the money amount that you gave yourself.
Nope - Just tested it - Maybe you have a mod that allows this? - By default its only 2. Now, I did get a little bit to go into the 3rd trailer when I went around a corner and it got close enough to throw, but once the train straightened out it was no longer able to fill.
TheFavess Its funny, the longer I play, the more I like small fields because I can do most of the work myself without hiring workers. Feels more like the farms around here in Ohio. But with those giant west bridge farm fields you gotta hire workers or you will go bananas.
yea i live in michigan so its the same thing. you should check out old family farm map. its a cool little map the only thing that sucks is i do not think it has biogas
+Dima T That is correct, but its kinda hard to back two trailers up over and over, so I unhook them. From a compression standpoint, its actually probably better to leave them hooked up.
+Jake McCaig Using the corn header or the Easy Flow 300 straw header you will get the bonuses of fertilizer if you fertilized your corn, wheat or barley fields.
you make a tutorial a yuo not now to distinguish the low and the regular tow hitch ? the big boby is equipped with low tow hitch you cannot attach to krone.....men.
Are you still going to do WoT videos? Like the test server is out and you still haven't posted a video talking about the new tanks in game and stuff...
+MidnightWolf49 Yes I can - the 266 is the largest trailer that you can double without using mods. the kipper (the first red tipper) is the first one that doesn't work with the foragers.
+MidnightWolf49 Ah, if you have a device like an Ipad that you are watching on you won't see my annotation where I say that the 266 works... That could be why. hehe, I wish you could update videos - this one is so outdated its bad. I think a new "forage harvester" video needs to be in the works.
+MisterFister Yessir - the "1" key lowers the speed, the "2" key raises it, and "3" sets it on/off. The best thing you can do to find a good multiplayer game is to buy a couple copies for your friends and get them to play, or start a youtube/livestream channel as people like to be famous :). But in all seriousness, most of the servers out there suck.
Yeah, I peeked into a few of them and saw tractors hung up on fences, semi-trailer combinations with upside down harvesters on the flatbed intentionally submerged at the logging camp, the main farm lot impassable because of more than a hundred powerwashers, etc. I will say I just picked this game up a days ago and I am rather horrified by how addictive it is. I never got into Farmville on Facebook, but I'm guessing this is essentially a 3D version of that game. If you'd ever care to multiplay, or if you need a helper for a recording session (you've commented on a few vids about how logging is easier with a buddy) or like in this video if you could use a tender to bring replacement trailers when your harvester fills instead of having to cut away, etc, PM me and lemme know. I'm in NY.
homer pimpslap Hi homer! I don't play online too often as I play late, or sometimes I just set a worker and let the farm run itself as much as possible..
Your intro is so right... I bought it because its the ocolest looking thing! But then it made pulp (chaf) from the stuff I needed :D thx god I saved first :D I'm actually looking if there is any way to have a krone that not makes green crap out of it :D
+shane8911 This is just the default map, westbridge hills - I have tiled field 11 using grass strips, so it makes the map look different. Here is how I did it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-krfk2sYk5AY.html
@Vbluguitar you're amazing, 80k subs and still respond to fans! Glad to know I'm not the only Ohio guy playing this game . I do still play fs15, would you recommend 22 or should I hold out a bit longer for 24?
Why would you mow and wind row and then pick up grass when you could just use the X-disc? The easy flow is designed to chaff straw that left over from a harvest. You can bail too, but if you don't need to bail, you can always get chaff rather than just turning the straw swath off. Hope that makes sense.
will zealand Ok, I looked it up - I am quoting the EASY FLOW 300 manual from Krone - "The Pick-up of the EASYFLOW 300 / EASYFLOW 380 series is a front attachment unit especially for the KRONE forage harvester BiG X. It is used to pick up CROPS in blade form along its working width, to bring them together along its infeed width and to release them continuously for transfer to the forage harvester. " - so its designed to pick up ANY bladed crop - not just wind rowed grass. Grass is a grain BTW, so its in the same family as Wheat, Barely, and other bladed grains. Now the X-Disc 6200 Manual "The direct cutting system of the X-Disc 6200 series is a front attachment unit specially for the KRONE forage harvester BiG X. It is used to cut crops growing on the ground (except maize)." I never said you couldn't use the 6200 for cutting wheat and barley (as I show it doing in the video) but it's wasteful because you have to pay for the seed, the time to plant and fertilizer. Grass is much more efficient because it grows on its own and doesn't require fertilizer for reseeding. You are able to run it anyway that you want, and there is no wrong way. If you want mow row and then collect, and only use the X Disc for crops, go right ahead, but there are more efficient uses for both of those headers, and They are designed to be flexible so that you can use them for different things. Hope that helps.
Thanks for taking time in reply... =3 I thought you deserve to know your videos are helpful (funny) even after almost two years... =D Best of luck budy!
+Zack Boone You mean the silage bunkers? Yeah... :( Apparently it's a specific dataflag in the mapfile. There's a coordinate definition that allows a liter of silage to fall below the boundary of the map so that it's inaccessible to be picked up, but still triggers the bunker's capacity sensor. Chatterings that I've found suggest that it's something that can be edited and fixed manually, possibly using the game's stock-included world editor, but I can't figure out how to use that solution for the life of me.
+si barsby You can, sort of, but you have to do it multiplayer, and it still latches and aims automatically. You can also hire a worker in the Krone when chopping corn or wheat or barely and run a tractor along side for more proto-typical operation. Part II shows this in action
Oh my bad ! I'd like to say you make very Nice enjoyable videos , you're very good at holding the viewers attention , so far the videos of yours i have watched , i watch to the end .
Yes, for those of non-farmers, this is something new - Most people know a combine when they see it, but this is not something you see often here in the states, though you are starting to see them more.
Arthur Chapman awesome stuff you talked about here arthur.... I was one of those who didnt know how versatile and useful money maker was the krone harvester... thanks for enlighten us!
