Kalamandra. Basically a mix of Chameleon, Salamander and Dragon. Ka(meleon)-(sa)laman(der)-dra(gon). Ka-laman-dra. Anyway, what I like about this character is how it is the Kroot variant of a spotter. It relies on hitting things to trigger its ability, so it will be interesting to see all the stats(including other weapons) and how it might work with some of the new detachments.
Man, Tau is bout to be a wildly flexible army where (hopefully) when you show up at a tournament, you won't really know what to expect. Is it a clasic crisis spam where everyone believes there is only one weapon option available? Will it be infantry heavy? 50/50 Kroot and Tau? 100% kroot? I've been hungering for this variety, and I hope GW leans even more into the covenant aspect of Tau.
OMG yes thank you for saying what I been saying for years. I miss that aspect of tau. I been butting heads about it a bit because some people just want more Mechs nothing else?! Anyway lets have some fun.
I hope if they do a model refresh for Aun Shi, that he has some new lore tie-ins with the Kroot. For instance; - Aun Shi learned his outstanding melee skills not from the other Ethereals, as many presumed, but in fact he had the humility to tutor under a Legendary Kroot War Shaper, who taught him secret techniques of the war stave, only shared with those possessed with the patience and respect to learn the language and cultural traditions of the Kroot - firsthand. By spending years living among the Kroot, Aun Shi came to learn much more about them than mere weapon skill, however. He came to appreciate and admire their deep commitment to their own communal wellbeing - through such acts as voluntary self-sacrifice of one’s body for consumption by the tribe - seeing a much deeper cultural affinity with that of the Tau’va than his peers had been inclined to investigate with any genuinely sincere consideration or curiosity. If others of his Caste had deigned to look closely, they would have discovered - to their surprise, a culture with much wisdom to teach the Tau about what it means to serve the Greater Good. After his time among the “Savages”, Aun Shi returned a changed Tau, some would even say one of the most Enlightened examples of his Caste to have ever lived, not to mention a formidable warrior besides. Among the Kroot, he is considered as one of their own, and is always permitted audience with the most esteemed Shapers to discuss diplomacy, advise on war plans, or simply debate philosophy. Among the Tau, there are whispers that Aun Shi has even used his considerable status to afford a special concession by the Empire; upon the event of his death, he has arranged to have his body brought back to Pech to be consumed in the manner of a true warrior of the Kroot people, so that his wisdom may be immortalised in the next Generation of genetic code of the Kroot warlords who partake of his flesh. What new form of Kroot such an unprecedented communion of body and blood could produce would be a source of rampant speculation among both species, no doubt... - That is my head cannon at least :)
He seems awesome. I'd love to see another video from one of my favourite RU-vidrs. Keep up the good work, and I can't wait to see these hounds tear the enemy's in melee!❤😂❤
Invasive war gaming said that this might be the last kroot unit we get. That would break my heart. They show 5 new datasheets in the box set and said it was only half. There should be two more. 😢
@@CommanderNearsightThis doesn't feel like enough for a full detachment..... it needs a great knarloc 😞 ..... I'd settle for a good knarloc at this point
Well I am surprised the horse mudpuppy is not a Kroot. I love the model all the new models are great will get them all. Without stats I am not sure like might be good might be bad that's not even talking about points. If gw wants ALl Kroot to be something 2 things have to be in the rooster. Something to kill tough infantry and big monsters/knights. My negative side probably be good then they will nerf him because rude not space marine. Kinda makes me think Kroot marker light with his ability. Finally please gw Greater Knarloc for the greater good!!
Well it's only reroll the hit roll for a kroot, which are terrible at shooting. So it's not really that amazing of a buff. Unless the new Kroot units have really good fire power.
@@CommanderNearsight I saw that too. But did you see that apocalypse TAU vs Tyranids game recently? 6 death leapers killed over 50 kroot and another 20 kroot Hounds. I don't think they were able to cause any wounds in combat. Again, hopefully new models fix that. But damage wise kroot are laughably bad damage dealers. Rerolls won't fix that with the current models.
