Jayson Cooper Nah dude its actually "The Big Beat" by Billy Squier, Battlecat just looped up the intro drums for KRS to freestyle over. Dizzee also sampled the Drums from the Big Beat for Fix Up Look Sharp, Peace
You guys are all crazy criticizing DJ Battlecat, he's a legend and was getting busy on the tables.. Do your research on him, legendary DJ and producer, SUCKAS!!!
Perhaps some contextualization is needed here. Some of you people have grown up watching your favorite rappers "freestyle." They are NOT freestyling. KRS1 is freestyling here, OK. To freestyle (free of style) means that the rhymes that you are spitting, at that very moment, to a beat, 16 bars or more, are being created on the spot, as you go. They were not previously committed to memory. You are creating a narrative out of thin air, and mistakes are frowned upon but generally accepted as freestyling can be tricky. Especially to a novice. It's better to practice in your bedroom until you are competent as gaffes are painfully noticeable. Bro, trust me, if a high percentage of todays "best rappers" freestyled, in the orthodox fashion, you would fall on the floor laughing.
