"Krupp und Krause" is a East Germany 1970-s song, which talks about the injustice of capitalist society. The titular characteres are a reference to same-name East German film, and in turn, krupp is a reference to the giant company owned by the Krupp family, which survived the Franco-Prussian war and two world wars. Since the time of the Franco-Prussian war, the phrases “Krupp steel”, “Krupp guns” and “Krupp armor” have become common nouns.
