This lady is so in the zone when she plays, she always gives it her all regardless of the atmosphere. This is a virtue and probably stems from her street busking start to public performance. That said she has a flair that is unique and amazing, she loves music heart and soul!
As a musician, I wish that more crowds acted like this. Respect the performance, then show how much you enjoyed it. You can't hear anything if the crowds' being obnoxious.
I disagree. If you watch close enough, Ray Lamontagne is swaying & clearly feeling the beat with his eyes closed. David Gray seems to be studying her use of the loop pedal. They are big enough musicians in their own right; they certainly could have avoided being on stage during the performance if they were bored. KT likely just wanted to do her own improvised version of the song without any help, as she usually does.
By doing nothing they emphasize the fact that K.A.T. the entire song carries, it is unbelievable that all live versions of the song are so similar, true craftsman.
the audience or deaf or so stunned by her performance ,but what gets me the most those 2 bimbos sitting next to her on the stage ? wtf get the hell down or you get along with her some movement some clapping ..gee...she deserves way more than that .. love u kt more power to you go girl go.. kick their asses,,
David gray to the left, who took a standing ovation about 5 mins before KT's performance with at this gig; the crowed a silent as they are literally stunned buy how much heart and soul is performing to them; here's the beginning /watch?NR=1&v=JvGn3qIQ02U
I think the audience is just stunned. That's why they're so quiet. I would be too. I'd just want to hear it and watch it happen. It'd be like watching Picasso paint.
I heard her tell a story that this song was the first time she’d ever experimented with that looping device. Boy, talk about knocking a song out of the friggin ballpark.
Yeah - I've deleted this too - but it was one of the best TV gigs in years. 3 very different singer/writers at the top of their game - David Gray & Ray Lamontagne were awesome - and KT's acoustic version of 'Weirdo' was miles better than the proper single. Well done for posting
excellent stuff... could you possibly post up Beg Steak or Borrow by the chap on the right as i don't seem to be able to download the show.. ta in advance...
Well in my opinion they are quiet so that everybody, both audience and viewers at home can enjoy the music to the max without stupid cheering and clapping, if you look to the MTV Unplugged series you will find that the audience do not interrupt the performances. Can´t get any better than that for those who wish to hear live music without people shouting and making background noise...
wow ! I haven't known that she made it with a loop station. I thought there was a band.. But that's just make me love this version of the song more :D I can't understand why the audience is so quite..
She's obviously very musically talented to play guitar bass drum and sing at the same time, like of of those people you see busking playing a whole lot of instruments at once 👍
It may be bcz she was doing a music loop. any background noise would have been on her loop so they were prob asked to refrain from making too much noise. I would not have known when to start making noise, actually.
+Augustus Henderson This is actually the first time i heard that explanation and it makes perfect sense! Thanks for sharing that information. I always guessed it was just different musicians and "higher educated" people listening to each other for silent inspiration. :)
It depends on the mic. Usually stage mics are designed to take care of surrounding sound, or else you wouldn't be able to perform with multiple artists playing at the same time.
That´s not true, the audience VERY RARELY gets in the loop in her live performances... Probabily, most of the audience are musicians, and they´re listening really carefully to what she´s doing... (I think, cause that happens all the time when musicians are watching you play xDxD)
Have you ever watched or listened Nirvana´s Unplugged in New York? It´s one of the most live music events ever made. Go check it out and then tell me if you see anyone clapping or cheering while Kurt Cobain was performing...
I asked you once.........not sure I can humble myself to ask again. Ditch the cheery tree and come to marry me. I could make your life so much more.......and that is saying a lot. I have your soul in my hand........I shall set it free, gurl.
