Sharing my experience dealing with powertronic customer service and getting a warranty replacement for a failed fuel x lite unit... #KTM390ADVENTURE #MODIFIED #POWERTRONIC
My fuelx just started causing low voltage O2 sensor error code and check engine light intermittently. My warranty period passed before it happened. Oh well I will see how it goes. I will probably end having to buy another one at some point. I wonder what % of these units fail like this.
I brought a FuelX-Lite kit for my new 22 RC 390. After installing as per the instructions and turning the key on the module failed to light any led's. Had to contact the supplier of the modules in Aussie (I'm in NZ) and he has contacted PT regarding a replacement. Waiting now to hear back from him.
I too had to replace the "FuelX Lite", The only issue I had was I could not understand the person on the other end. He had a very strong Indian accent. Other than that ,they sent a new unit and told me to do what I wanted with the old one.
I've only had the engine light come on once, and it fixed itself the next morning. I have the habit of turning on the key, and then getting my helmet on and any other pre ride thing to allow it to tune itself. I figured you are supposed to do that the first time, so I sort of do it every time. I hope it won't happen again
Great reminder of letting the unit calibrate when connecting for the first time. BTW WhatsApp is so widely used in Asia, including India where these guys are from, that it basically is replacing email here (I’m in Indonesia).
WhatsApp is also the app everybody uses here to chat in Germany. They established themselves when SMS cost money and are now owned by Facebook. Nothing malicious about WhatsApp
Hi, I noticed you have both the 390 Adv and the 901. Can I ask why do you keep the 390? In what cases do you prefer to ride the 390 over the 901? I'm asking because I own a 390 Adv and about to trade it for 890R (or Aprilia Tuareg 660, not sure yet). I wonder if there are advantages for the 390 over the 890 / 901 Thx
Hello Sean. Do you mean that the check engine light appeared because you didn't wait for it to calibrate before starting the engine? If the answer is yes then you did not have to install the new Fuel. Is there a way to tell that the Fuel X is calibrated without having to lift the seat? That is, every time we start the motorcycle we will have to wait for it to calibrate? This would be an inconvenience in situations where we have to start and accelerate the motorcycle quickly.
Having the same problem with my Fuelx pro unit bought this in March 2022, did you purchase it around the same time frame? They asked me to ship the whole kit across to them so that they can test it.
