KTM 390 Adventure Review - More Of A Tourer | MotorBeam 

How many of you were waiting for the KTM 390 Adventure?

Finally a KTM on which a six footer like me won't look like bear on a unicycle. It's touring friendly nature is more desirable since most of tiger owners seldom takes their bike off-road. They use it for touring mainly. Perfect upgrade for Dominar owners. No need to look for versys 650. I myself would have bought it now ,Had I not bought the car... But it's surely gonna come into my parking maybe next year.

The peak torque comes on at 8000 and peaks at 10,000 rpm. That’s not when you need it for trail riding. Think about it, it’s engine is mapped exactly the same as the RC390, even the sprockets are the same. Seems the long stroke boys over at Royal Enfield got that part right, with the Himalayan torque coming on at low RPM. And the KTM dealer here in Seattle told me that I need to pay for two services before 9000 miles, at a cost of another $800. That KTM maintenance is extensive and expensive. I think I’ll get the Himalayan and get 70 mpg.

Loved the look of the video, very cinematic color grading.. shadows were wee bit strong though... Please see if aspect ratio can be enhanced.. phones these day have larger screens. The stoppie at 7:27 was smooth unlike many others which look erratic sometimes.. Very well made review overall!!

43 hp for 166 kg it's even better than a CB 500 X with its 47 hp for 196 kg, all the features missing on the Versys 300, a killer for the Himalayan lame engine, a perfect all rounder, can't wait to get it in Bali, thank you for this great review

Off road it is great just not fast. just look at some of the videos ( KTM Adventure off road,) You do Have to turn off traction control when doing hill climes on loos gravel or sand. but it will get you up the hill no problem, and you do have to go easy in rocky parts as the ground clearance is limited. KTM offers a better bash plate and better hand guards for more extreme conditions. It is a ADV bike and it does it very well It is not a dirt bike or a duel purpose bike, so drive like a ADV and take it easy and it will get you there no problem. If in muddy or sandy conditions you will want better tires. There is one video that all they did is put better off road tires on it and they go through more than most people would want to. And the only difference was the tires the rest of the bike was stock, but they did crack the bas plate, which I would change wright away for the cost it could save you a lot in the long run. Please stop putting this bike down as off road cable, Just open your eyes and watch some of the Videos.

Only reviewer who have explained it very well and elaborate, which is helpful to interested buyers.

Next video comparison between KTM adv 390, BMW GS 310s, Himalayan & Kawasaki Versys 300.

3.60L a lil on higher side, 3.60L can get you an used, well maintained kawasaki ninja 650. Which is a class apart from 390 as far as riding is concerned.

Why they ditched adjustable suspension for India? Price?

It has got the electronics; so a round of applause! But is it going to eat up the market share of Dominar? Cause both are more of a tourer, but this KTM is way more modern with a slight difference in price.

Typical Faisal(Aka Motorbeam) styled review, yes this is perfect Touring motorcycle. Not a motocross or rally motorcycle. Still you can do bit of off road activities. Change the tyre to motocross tyre and ride. Good review by far.

for how many years yours this bike will be your favorite and you continue riding same even after updates from very next few months.. if you are not confident staying with the same bike then don't boast too much...

Neither 390 Adventure nor G310GS is built for off roading. If you want to tour and do some off roading with your bike, Go with Himalayan or add one more Himalayan and buy Versys.. Still nothing comes closer to Versys..

I had just booked 390 Duke I had see the adventure. I like it but not I'm using activa 4g I'm upgrade to 390 I'm little bit confused now after see the 390 adventure and my height is 5.6 I can touch my one leg on ground other one is on air for a half feet what u suggest me to buy can tell me ??
