Good work bro! I've had and 07 exc 450 and I have bought another one one year after sell it hahahah I love this engine. And with more than 600 hundred hours of enduro and daily supermoto use with 0 problems. Sorry for your piston. I use 10W60 oil and changes at 20/25h. Obviously the bike runs with a powerparts radiator fan. It overheads a lot in enduro use without it.

I also wanted to ask you what you replaced in your forks and if rebuilding the swing arm bushings made it any easier to hold steady when you wheelie it
It looked like the nikasil coating was scratched from the piston ring failure. Did you re-use the cylinder from your first engine when you were rebuilding the second One? Hope you're luck improves with your EXC. It makes me worry something is going to suddenly grenade on my 525sx now. I've had it almost three years and according to the guy I bought it from he had put 30 hours on the engine after doing the 570 piston, a cam, oversized valves and a 6spd swap from an exc. It was definitely an impulse buy and while it was being shipped to me I thought- you know This might a little bit stupid buying this thing what if it's modified to the point that it can barely survive one trackday let alone stop and go traffic...it took me weeks to get the kick start at TDC so it would start. But now i don't even think about it. I bought it as a supermoto but even with a full akropavich pipe it is so so so loud. I should be shot for driving it on public roads lol. Haven't even tried to get it tagged. The police here don't even try to pursue fleeing bikes.
Kim Szeplakay, well well well i can tell you as a mechanic that this is the best engine ever produced by ktm (you can run a single piston for 300+ hours easily
