Puckguy14, No, 44's announcer was Darwin Gillette, a staff announcer at KBHK. And, as MrCombustion said, KTXL was never a Stockton station, it's always been in Sacramento, although I don't know how long they've been on Fruitridge. That's the only place they've been that I know of. However, what it seems not a lot of people know is that Channel 40 was Sacramento's first TV station, signing on in 1953 as KCCC. "Triple C" was sold in 1968, presumably becoming KTXL in 1969.
@KLXT77 From what I have seen back in 1982, KTXL did go to bars with their generic "You're watching" graphic at the bottom of the screen. I'm not sure, but no clock was used. Sometimes they did cut the carrier, sometimes they left the bars going all night.
Oh yes, the RCA TCR-100. Plus the TR-60 and TR-600 VTR's, TP-66 film projectors, TP-7A slide projector, TP-15(?) multiplexer, and TK-27 (or is it TK-28?) film camera.
That is a great theme. I have no idea what it is. I wish I had more of these sign-offs, but this and the KBHK one I posted are all I have. I'm glad you posted that later one. I don't know if they went to bars or what after this ended, as I stopped the recording the instant it faded out.
This appears to be the third variant (the one on KHBK's 1984 sign-off being the second - would anyone have a sign-off with the first, pre-1977 INTV logo which looked quite different?).
