I love that tractor its got some power and weight. I know you know about the bug net hood and jacket. I don't really like them so I just use a full brim hat and a bug net on my head only. I look like a bee keeper but I don't have to beat my self up all day try to kill them bugs. I think the deer flies and nats are the worst.

In Florida, where I was raised, it's Creek. I moved to Idaho, and there it is Crick!! No negotiating that...Crick, or you're labeled!! In Texas, it just depends, probably on the angle of the sun, the moisture content of the soil, if your audience is from Brady, Texarkana, or Orange, or if protests are a-brewin' in Austin. Good job, Jon! Keep tractoring!

Wow, that is a strong machine! This backhoe seems to have a very wide range of action. You did not have to move much to cover the culvert from the material you picked on the side of the driveway. Thanks!
@ritterjon

That’s the biggest and best difference between the BX as the 3940. Range of action is about three time as far. I love the power that larger machine has. It’s fun to operate. Keep on tractoring!

Hi Jon! Good work with the backhoe! I always enjoy any chance to use mine. I don’t have a tooth bar either for my FEL bucket so I often use the backhoe to break up the dirt so I can scoop it easily with the FEL. BTW, looks like you got pretty good with that larger FEL too! Thanks for sharing another great video!
@ritterjon
@ritterjon 4 года назад
I eventually caught on with that FEL, the backhoe controls are the same as what I have on my BX23S. So that was easy to figured out. It’s always fun using the backhoe. A tooth-bar would be helpful for rooting up brush and clearing land. Hope you’re enjoying some tractor time as well. Keep on tractoring!

Crick, creek, stream - what about brook or babbling brook? I’ve often been severely mocked for saying crick, (junior high kids can be brutal, as I’m sure you know). Great vids by the way. You have also cemented my decision to purchase tractor WITH CAB so as not to be eaten alive by bugs. Without cab, you are, as they say, “up shits {crick, creek, and brook} without a paddle”.
@ritterjon
@ritterjon 4 года назад
So many choices!!! Happy to hear you’re going with a cab model. You won’t regret it at all! It will keep the bug off you and keep you warm in the winter. Thanks for watching! Keep on tractoring!

I would leave the two markers on the edges of the narrow spot. Next year when you are mowing and the brush is 3 ft high you might forget where the narrow spot is and go over the edge otherwise. Next time it might work better to taper the hole first by pushing the sides in. Then fill in what's left to get better compaction.
@ritterjon
@ritterjon 4 года назад
That’s exactly what I’m going to do. 👍 That would not be fun to fall down in there. It’s about a 6 foot drop. Keep on tractoring!

I would love to see what a properly sized flail mower could do on that L3940. You'd have Yukon Acres clear as a park in a day, I bet.

Ok if you could have just one (1) tractor which one would it be? Hopefully not the most expensive.
@ritterjon
@ritterjon 4 года назад
Good question... Well it would depend on the most frequently used applications. In my case I clear snow and mow grass mostly and make some money on the side. Implements are cheaper for smaller tractors. I’d have to go with the BX. It can do anything a larger tractor can do just in smaller increments. Keep on tractoring!

It was my fathers tractor who passed away in 2015 so this tractor sat idle for a couple years before i decided to purchase it from my mother and putting it to work again.
