#KubotaBX #BackFill Using my Kubota BX to back-fill and bury a corrugated drainage pipe/culvert pipe + Building a berm, and Leveling/Grading the area at the end. #Drainage #Pipe
Hey thanks a ton Chris means a lot! A lot of it is just getting the seat time in, I’m on my tractor quite a bit, after awhile it just becomes a second nature. Thanks for the comment!
Thanks man I’m glad I’m able to help others learn and people who are new tractor owners, that was always my goal as I love to help people. Your right I missed hearing the music too but it was such a lengthy video this time around it woulda been pretty difficult and I wanted to get the video out as soon as possible so you guys could see the end result like I promised. Thanks for watching!
Right on man, 10 years old huh? How's it been holding up for you, I assume very good? How many hours do you have on it now, just curious. Ill def be doing more tractor mods come fall/winter when things settle down a bit, always great to have more ideas you can never have enough useful mods!
@@BiffsEquipment She's held up great. No repairs needed, just routine maintenance. 630 hrs on her. Use to live on 2 acres of property and moved to a smaller lot, so my hours have trailed off last few years. As for mod's, I did the Racor fuel filter, added LED lights to the ROPS, made a weight bracket with a 2" receiver similar to yours. Also drill and mounted a 2" receiver to the bucket so I can move my trailers when the backhoe is on. I also fabbed up a 2 spool valve that mount to the side of the ROPS when the backhoe is off by plumbing it into the backhoe loop, then bought a top link cylinder. Got almost all of it from Surplus Center. Was cool to have top-link tilt for my box blade, etc. Kubota makes a nice 2 spool factory set up for the not backhoe BXs. Was around $300 buckets a few years back.
CHDinCT that’s awesome man! Sounds like you got all the mods I have done and more, making your own rear remotes using the backhoe hydros was a smart idea. Since I don’t have a backhoe I plan on buying that factory Kubota rear remotes, almost pulled the trigger on them 2-3 times but still havnt actually Bought them, they are cheap tho for what your getting, $320 out the door he told me if I install it, which I told I’m I would cuz I enjoy doing it plus I feel I could do a better job than some of those guys lol. But yah that’s the rout I’m going with cuz i already have the top cylinder, hydraulic hoses and all, just need the rear remotes.. even plan to run my first grapple off my rear remotes for awhile until I can afford the 3rd function.. I really like how the factory rear remotes mounts right on the fender in that empty slot, nice and clean, I planned on making a RU-vid video on the install cuz nobody has done a video on them yet.. there was only one video on RU-vid that I had seen and it was just a guy showing it work.. not how to install it or how much it cost so that’s why I wanna make one cuz I think it could help a lot of people specially people looking to buy a grapple who can’t afford a true 3rd function. Sounds like your bx is in nice shape man! Thanks for sharing
Haha thanks man! Yah it sure is gonna be nice down there now, specially in the spring and fall.. im currently uploading a video replacing a radiator on my cummins. Should be uploaded in the next 20 min
Biff, I admire how you always seem to have your bucket at the right level when scooping. I know it takes a lot of experience to move as fast as you do and always have the right bucket angle. Being about 15 or so miles closer to the lake than me, your ground looks to be much sandier, so it digs way easier than my rocky clay ground. My BX2680 does a good job on it though.
Thanks Ron I appreciate it! Yah I have pretty nice soil up at my house tho it does change from road to road it seems, I have done jobs 10 minutes from my house with real tough ground, then others not bad at all, my father lives about 5 minutes from me and all he has is straight clay.. his grass grows like mad too because of it haha. Thanks for watching man!
Nice series of videos... your insights have helped me pick among the sub-compacts. Quick question around the backfilling... any reason you scooped and dropped at the start, instead of back blading? I'm asking about any limitations with loader power, I guess.
Congrats on your new tractor buddy! With so many sub compacts to choose from it can be difficult to find the one that fits you (the end user) best. I’m glad you seem happy with your decision and confident you made the right choice and I’m glad my videos were able to help justify your purchase! I don’t get paid by Kubota but many people say I should 😂 As for the way I used the loader and spread the dirt.. there is no particular limitation I was avoiding.. I just use my loader a bit different than most because that’s what I find works the best for me.. sometimes I push the dirt forward with the bucket curled back, other times I back drag.. all depends on the angle I’m approaching it at and what exactly I’m trying to do when I’m grading it out. PS. I have lots of great info on this tractor on my channel and many more videos showing me working with the tractor.. if you click on the “playlists” tab when your on my channel you’ll see I have categorized all the types of jobs and work I’v done with my Kubota BX so you can find the category that suits you best. Best of luck!
Hey guys! Do me a favor and list down below what tractors you all are running! I know what a lot of you guys are running but not all of you and would love to hear what types of tractors you’ve got and how your liking them!
Greetings from Texas. My Kubota is a BX23S and I love it. Only had it for 2 years and it is still stock as the day I bought it. Do want to do some mods though. Increasing hydraulic pressure is at the top of the list. Then adding 3” spacers, weight to the rear wheels or fluid in the tires or both maybe, tooth bar for my bucket, and a thumb for my backhoe bucket, a grapple as well. I want to wait until after you do your grapple installation video before I decide which way to go with mine. just to name a few mods in mind for the near future. Really enjoy your videos. Learning a lot about how much I can do with my own tractor by watching your videos. Keep em coming.
@@mannysustaita6585 awesome Manny sounds like you have quite the growing list for your new 23s.. sorry I’m just now seeing this comment how have you been liking the tractor thus far?
Im wondering how that pipe lasted so far being so shallow and covered in dirt? Did it get plugged up at all? Any roots in it? I have a similar project in mind to run a drain line at my farm, but thought id likely have to burry it deeper and surround it with pea gravel and landscape fabric.
Thanks Gordon, it’s actually a factory aftermarket muffler that I purchased for the sole reason to modify it instead of cutting up the original .. this way if I didn’t like the stack I could always remove it and install the factory muffler back on it. If you go under my “videos” tab and scroll down till you see the video named “Kubota bx slow HST pedal” at the end of that video is where I start showing what my plans were for the stack and why I wanted to build a stack, in the video or two directly after that one is where I show exactly how I built my stack and how I installed it all. Let me know if you can’t find it I’ll give you links.
Plasma cutter and the mig welder I used is linked in the video description. The plasma cutter is a Cut 50DF with piolet arc, there are many look alikes out there tho that wont work nearly as well so you just have to be carful. Thanks for watching!
Hey man, I did most of the heavy work in low, the only time I used high was at the end I believe where I was grading, I’ll usually leave it in high when grading as I like to move quickly and swiftly but when straining the machine it’s always best to keep it in low gear to save your hydros and just pick up the throttle a bit to help with speed. Thanks for watching man
It’s still doing just fine, I’v got no more water saturating my lawn in that area, it has stayed nice and dry and the pipe isn’t collapsed. This tractor doesn’t weigh a ton so when I used it to compress the soil it didn’t crush the pipe.. the ground hasn’t sunk at all in this area either which also tells me that the pipe didn’t or hasn’t collapsed cuz if it did then the ground woulda sank above it. Should be all set. I appericate your concerns
