If you are planning on living where you do currently for a long time, get the biggest garage you can afford. Thanks for the shout out. Your right, if the bonnet/ side panel needs removed you might as well remove the hood and have plenty of room. I wish I could have a front hitch on my BX. I move trailers all the time with the BX.

Hey no problem Roger! It was a fantastic video, I also linked it in my video description as well for anyone who wants to find it there. I agree it makes life so much better being able to have that darn hood out of the way, I never felt it opened quite high enough for me.. it was always getting in my way and shadowing my engine bay making it tough to see what I was doing. Now in under a min I can have all that out of the way and back together in under a min. As for the front hitch I agree they are extremely useful, I also use mine for my front weight bracket when I mow in the summer.. I know you have a front weight bracket also that you custom built, im assuming this is why you can’t install a hitch on the front?

I hope it all works out, it’s gonna be awhile yet and it’s gonna be a slow process till it’s totally finished the way I want it but the first step is getting the bare frame up so I can at least start moving equipment in there and freeing up some space. Was at menards today 7.00 bucks for a 2x4x8. When you build your new shop it could cost bigtime .... plywood was 60 bucks a sheet hope you can get a good price on lumber ,Would make a great video of the shop going up .The brush guard looks good ,have seen some guys weld heavy screen to the inside of the guard to keep the brush out. GREAT VIDEO

Hey Gary, yah your right man prices are just insane right now! Def is NOT the time you wanna build a dang garage that’s for sure and it has me worried.. this garage is gonna be built all out of metal/tin tho so I’m hoping the prices havnt jumped up quite as bad as the rest. The company told me the prices are changing every day so they are getting me an updated quote soon. Garage is prolly gonna be a 32x22x14 is my hopes. Thanks for watching!

Double check your third function clearance on that grill guard when you go to raise the loader. From the way the top of the guard flares to the outside it looked like it would hit your third function when the loader is being raised up. Don’t want you to bust something or tear a hose!
@BiffsEquipment
@BiffsEquipment 2 года назад
Hey Ryan thanks for your comment, I agree in the video it looked like it was gonna hit, but as you saw when I lowered my loader down after the install it did not hit the grill tho it came very close (I was watching it the whole time I lowered it) I shoulda mentioned in the video that you/I could easily slide the 3rd function bracket down a touch to the left if this does become a problem for you .. so it’s easily avoidable and not a big deal. I didn’t worry about it because I plan to remove that 3rd function valve hopefully in the next video to replace it with something else. Thanks for watching!

I would only have one request for you...don't change, upgrade, your tractor...please. Meaning the model to some 'super' L series or M or whatever. I, for one, really appreciate your videos for the tractor you have, and I only speak for myself in this, I have what you have and the videos are golden to me. For example, the hydraulic pressure videos were perfect in that I only needed to go to the second level to make my work so much better and efficient. The maintenance videos are also important to me. Keep up the great information for the upgrades and efficiency, they are certainly important to me as I am sure they are for others...and, I can't afford an L or M or B series....so, thanks!!!

Hey thanks Jeff, I appreciate you telling me how you feel. I totally get that, iv always felt the same way about certain channels I watch too, it’s nice when a channel you enjoy has the same tractor/equipment as you. I did for awhile plan on trading in for a B series Kubota just because I often wonder or worry when I’m gonna actually break something big on my BX but so far that hasn’t happened.. it’s one TOUGH machine! At some point that was my plan was to go with a B series but if I ever did Iv debated still keeping my BX if I could. None the less I don’t think you have to worry as I don’t plan to get rid of my good reliable BX anytime soon! Hope your doing well and thanks for your input!

Good video Biff. When you build your garage, make it as big as you can afford, and then make it a little bigger. It is NEVER big enough. (This is the voice of experience).
@BiffsEquipment
@BiffsEquipment 2 года назад
Haha yah buddy you got it! Only thing is I am gonna be limited on the money I can spend unfortunately.. and my second issue is the property lines I have up in my front hard, my yard is like a pie shape and I need to stay at least 5’ minimum off that line. When I measured it out I came up with a 32x22x14H.. I can’t go much longer than 22’ because I’ll either go too far into my driveway or I’ll go to close to the property line. Only way i can go bigger is if I move the garage somewhere else but I really don’t want my garage out back and if I did I’d have to build a road back there.. and I can’t have it next to my main driveway because I have that massive tree there and I like that tree as it gives me shade in the summer.. my plan was to do 2 bay doors in the front so I could easily shuffle things around or work on multiple projects at a time; I wanna do 14’ ceilings because I also Plan to install a 2 post rotory lift some time

Hey Biff, I got a new bx23s a couple months back now, absolutely love it, got to use it for the snow we had here, took the top off some grass that had grown over the driveway, even did some work on a friends driveway as well, and flattened some old garden beds. Still got lots left to do, once we get a few solid days of sunshine, should be going back to it.

Hey congrats man! Sounds like your really loving it so far and giving it a good work out already too that’s what I like to hear! Glad it’s doing the job well for you. They are really amazing little tractors with a lot more grunt than most would ever think. Iv also been waiting for things to warm up and dry out Iv been dying to get back out in the lawn with it and back to side jobs. You’ll pick up all kinds of work this summer with it and it will pay for itself in no time to flat, Stay safe!

I hadn't thought of pulling the engine shroud off by going straight up. I have to say that the redesigned grill-guard/hood on the 80 series is really attractive after having to pull this thing off almost every time I want to do some maintenance. It's not the end of the world, but just one of those things that make me think "Really Kubota...really!?".
@BiffsEquipment
@BiffsEquipment 2 года назад
Haha yah buddy I totally agree with you! And the plastic they used was terrible! But hey if that’s all we can complain about I guess that’s not too bad haha. Yah I agree the new bx80 has a great design, both with the single piece hood design as well as the pivoting front grill. I debated trying the bx80 grill on my bx70 to see if it would give enough clearance to slide the bonnet out the proper way with out having to unbolt it but I never got around to purchasing one to try it. Thanks for the comment hope your doing well 👍🏻

@BiffsEquipment
@BiffsEquipment 2 года назад
Damn man, thanks a bunch for letting me know that! RU-vid really does screw things up sometimes.. Iv had it happen to me with other channels too. It often happens when you don’t upload a new video for over a 2 week period and youtube throws you out of the recommendations list to your own subscribers which isn’t cool. I always shoot myself in my own foot by not uploading videos consistently enough and it def puts a damper on growing your channel and getting views but it’s hard working a full time job + side work and always keeping up on videos even tho I’d like to…. Sometimes I just can’t but I’ll never stop making videos so long as I know my subscribers enjoy it because I enjoy connecting with you guys! Thanks for watching!

Max Ball recommended your videos and this one is great. I've got 2670 and want to install an LA344 Loader on it. Do you have a specific video for that install?
@BiffsEquipment
@BiffsEquipment Год назад
Awesome! Max is a good dude, he’s been watching my channel for years now! As for the loader install, I did not have my channel when I first installed my loader though it is very straight forward. Just bolt the loader brackets on, remove the hydraulic manifold that the La340 loaders come with and instead install the 4 standard pioneer hydraulic couplers.. from there you’d plug them into your existing hydraulic ports and attach the loader to your tractor like you would with any other loader/tractor. Best of luck!

Thanks Tony! Really appericate you sending your old one to me. The ones with the removal pins is a nice upgrade over the original. Does it vibrate or rattle at all? Sure does save you time not having to use any tools to remove your hood bonnet so that’s a great feature. Hope your doing well!

Grill guard looks great on there Biff! Hey don`t feel bad about the plastic breaking on your side covers. We`ve got a 2017 BX23s with the metal hood and metal sides all built together, and the welds on the support brackets broke right off the hood in the first year we owned the tractor because it shakes so badly. So kubota is still asleep at the wheel with these awful hood designs, even when they went back to the all metal hood & sides. The tiny metal support brackets were barely even tack welded on. Piss poor design. I`m still in the process of building & welding better brackets on.
@BiffsEquipment

Thanks buddy! Damn that’s crazy to hear they still havnt got it right! Total bummer too because they make such amazing equipment. I wonder if maybe you just got a hood built on a Monday or a Friday? Lol Hopefully that’s all it is tho that’s still no good for you the consumer so I hope they get it figured out and that it isn’t an issue with all newer models. If they can just fix a few of these simple things they would really have a perfect unit IMO. Thanks for the info and glad you enjoyed the video!

Another great video Mr biff I would like to know when you did your Rear remote did you ever look at the Summit hydraulic kit rather than using the Kabota kit just wondered if you had any thought I can’t decide what I want to do for rear remotes and what size is your cylinder runs the top till on your three-point hitch thanks again for Answering all my questions
@BiffsEquipment
@BiffsEquipment 2 года назад
Thanks Mike glad you enjoyed! As for the rear remote kit I would go with a genuine Kubota kit ANY day over a summit kit because the Kubota Kit is gonna be built specifically for your tractor and the leavers for the valves will actually come up through the slots on the fenders like they are suppose to instead of having this big ugly valve to mount somewhere where it’s gonna look hideous and in the way. Now when it comes to the 3rd function I Belive the summit is one of the best for sure! Also if you owned a tractor that didn’t offer a true manufacturer rear remote kit then I again would go with the summit as not all tractor company’s offer one like Kubota does for the Bx. Not sure on the cylinder length I havnt measured it in awhile, I’ll have to measure it sometime and get back to you on that.

@BiffsEquipment
@BiffsEquipment 2 года назад
Hey David, great question, if you have a regular muffler/exhaust on your BX you will still be able to do what I did with my Hood Bonnet no problem at all.. when the bonnet slides forward it allows it to clear the exhaust tip and you stretch it and pull it up and out.. now if you have the exhaust tip upgrade you’ll prolly have to remove it first to be able to slide the bonnet up and out.
