It was a rare thing to see a Eagle. Now I've been told there are 50 pairs in the river bottom. There's a lady out of town who says they carried her Dachshund off. Thank you Gary.
The bald eagles didn’t seem to be too afraid of the tractor noise, the grapple is definitely a great attachment unfortunately mine was not getting used 🤷🏼♂️. I noticed some leaves are starting to change colors, you know what that means… snow ❄️ is not far behind 🤦🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🙂. Have a great week Gary 👍🏻🙂🙋🏼♂️🇨🇦🇺🇸
Thanks Luc. I was astonished that I could drive right up under the tree like that and have them stay right there. I see them every day but as soon as I found the bend and they come into view, they usually take to flight. Not this time. I didn’t have my go pro with me. Trying to hold my phone and record on that super rough ground was tough to do. Much of the video was mo good. But hey, I did get some that I could use. Thanks for watching Luc
You're right about nobody making videos of these being used. Other than a few little demo videos, there's not a ton out there. I'm looking at the L3901/2 and videos of that in use are even more rare than the 2501. It's a shame because the DT models of the two have different transmissions - the 39 looks to be more of a true shuttle shift and I believe it's fully synchronized. It also has a 2 stage clutch for the PTO, allegedly... But of course I can't confirm any of this because the dealers don't want to stock the DTs and nobody is making videos with them 🙄. Thanks for doing what you do!
The bald eagles are pretty neat....I logged not far from a nest one winter years ago...They got so used to me, bringing scraps of food for them , they would sit and wait outside my logging shack after I had lunch...I would walk, 8-10' from them while they had their lunch, they knew I meant no harm. I'm sure they were a bit dissapointed in the spring when I left that site.... You sure have a nice piece of ground there....Thanks Gary.
Thanks for watching Brent. When I hauled feed, we used to see them all the time. They would flock to the compost piles and dig out the dead animals that were buried. Buried with a skid steer and yet they would still dig them up.
Hi Gary! Wild turkeys make frequent visits here too. Nice grapple and grapple work! I’ve resisted getting one, but more and more I’m seeing the need for one so I probably will get one before too long. I’ll go with a 3rd function kit in my case since I don’t have rear remotes - yet. 😊 Thanks for sharing!
Worksaver makes this same grapple with an electric actuator. It is not as powerful as the hydraulic version and I gather that they perform poorly in super cold climates. Which shouldn’t be of any real bother to you Martin, since you are smart enough to live in a warm climate. The other downside is the cost. They cost roughly $1000 more than the hydraulic version. I can see you you installing your own 3rd function. That would be a cool video. Phil@Peterson Farms of Nashville installed one on his own and did a good job with it. Thanks for watching Martin. Always enjoy having you drop by.
Hi! Gary, yes a grapple is one of my most used attachments for the woods. I added a forestry winch to my arsenal last year......and let me tell you it's a game changer if you do lots of logging. Anyway, getting ready for another winter here in Montana. Happy tractoring into 2024.
I had the same grapple on my subcompact when I had one. Great attachment and was on most of the time. Use one on my new tractor quite a bit as well, but find the forks on there fairly often as well. The bucket has been on twice, when i got it, and once to move some cut firewood rounds. The bucket looks brand new as you may guess! Keep plugging away Gary, the white stuff will be here before you know it!
It will be here soon enough Tim. Even in a drought year, winter won’t forget to powder us. We will soon be playing everyone’s favorite winter game,”Am I Still On The Road”? Thanks for watching
Good Morning Sir, Very Nice field and Nice Turkey on patrols 🤣👌👍👍Big Eagles 😇😇👍👍Big Hornets Nest 🥴🥴Some Tractor Field climbing 👍😇👌OUTSTANDING Tractor Grapple Informative Action Video Sir 🧐👌👍Yes Sir Life is Good for sure in a tractor seat and Have a nice week Sir Cheers 😇😇😇😇👍👍🍻🍻
Thanks Dave. The eagles were pretty impressive. Don’t usually see the turkeys in groups like that until winter. Starting to see them more and more in groups now. I thought that hornet nest was abandoned until when I came back down the hill and saw one fly out of it. You can reach that nest from the seat of the John Deere tractor. That is right along the logging trail up the north side and you have to drive right by it.
Gary I agree that a grapple is one of the best attachments and I couldn't do without it. Definitely, the ROPS and seat belt are there for a good reason!, tractors are dangerous. Happy tractoring Gary!
Thanks Paul. I have come to find out the hard way that if you are around tractors long enough, you are going to know someone who gets killed by one. I know of several
Pretty impressive setup there Gary. That grapple is definitely one very handy attachment to have around for the Kubota or any other compact tractor. Thanks for sharing & demonstrating the equipment. Take care.
Good morning Gary☕️, wild turkeys and majestic eagles👍 Having a million large rocks on our property, I couldn't imagine not having a grapple. Nice demonstration! I like your seat belt/rops safety tip. Living on a slope I'm always aware of the roll over factor. Very nice video 😎👍🚜🪵 have a great week, Ben
Thanks Ben. The grapple hasn’t been off the tractor since I got it last spring. It is going to come in super handy when we start dropping all these ash trees and logging them off. We are going to drop a couple hundred trees.
Those eagles like the sound of a JD too😉. Nice hornet nest. It’s clear that grapple is really the best tool for safe working with wood and brush. I might have to get one for the Kubota skid steer. Nice info for tractor users. More and more of these around.
Man yeah Mr Gary!! Those eagles and turkeys were amazing!! That little tractor never seems to meet its match!! Very good review once again on both your Kubota and the work saver grapple!! 😁 I couldn't believe it moved that log!! Awesome job sir, thank you for bringing us along!! Look fwd to seeing what's next!! 😁😁👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks Nelson. I always appreciate the support that throw my way and the friendship we have built with the back and forth👋 I was sure thinking of you the other day as the yellow jackets are getting bad here. Even Steve is having issues with them. That bald faced hornet nest that you see in this video was one I thought was abandoned. You can reach out and touch that from the seat of the 520. Coming back down the hill the last day I was up there, I saw one fly out just as I got there. Man that will give a guy pucker factor.
@@tractortalkwithgary1271 Always Mr Gary, I apologize for missing a few sometimes. OMG....NO WAY 😳😳😳😳 I would have had a trip to the hospital in my day, mainly to get that seat cushion out of my rear probably!! 😂😂😂 Pucker factor would be an understatement!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Very capable tractor for sure, Gary. Great opening scene and what a wonderful day out in the fields and woods. That grapple is very capable on the LA525. They can really left some heavy logs. Have a good weekend, Gary!
Birds didn’t mind the tractor at all Gary. That’s a handy tractor and grapple. Some nice to pick up a log and be able to cut it standing up. Just love the tires on it. That’s the way to go. Log would have to be 2000 lbs I’m guessing. Have a great day Gary. 👍🏻👋
I better just keep quiet for now about how much I use mine and the fact that it hasn’t been off of the tractor since I got it when we still had snow on the ground
The eagles are a beautiful bird for sure. I love the Kubota. Hopefully, my next tractor will be one. It is just hard to find a gear drive one around here. The grapple is a great piece of equipment to have. Thanks for sharing
Thanks John. For what you do, I think you definitely want the gear drive. Messicks does a video of the difference between gear drive and hydrostatic. The gear drive destroyed the hydrostatic. Wasn’t even close in pulling power.
Hello there Gary!! Seeing those eagles was awesome eh!! I have to say, if jealousy wasn't a sin, I'd be jealous of your grapple. It sure looks like a great attachment. Thanks for sharing and take care!!
Thanks Mike. This grapple has been a game changer. I worked in the woods all day one day last week and never left the tractor seat. Well, I had to leave a couple times. but we don’t need to go there. Thanks for watching Mike. Always great having you drop in and leave a comment. Tell Nannie we said hi.
The eagles were very cool, we do not see them in our part of the UK. That was a huge log you had in the grapple, the Kubota did a great job moving it. It looks like you are very busy
Hello Gary. I'm a little late but I made it. There were 3 Eagles on the fresh roadkill deer down the road today. Nice to have hardwood ground you can actually drive on. Unlike my swamp. 😂
What I like about your grapple is it probably doesn't weigh much more than my pallet forks so you're not loosing much lifting capacity. Time to grow the beard back Gary!
Boy, I could sure use that here in my patch of the desert. Lots of scrub brush and dead Mesquite trees. What brand/model chainsaw scabbard do you have mounted on your tractor?
That is a Tractor Talk With Gary original Matt. Made that from scrap stuff I had around. Handiest thing I ever came up with. When dragging logs or tops and something isn’t completely cut in two or gets hung, the saw is right there with me to take care of business.
Good morning Warren. They are year round squatters now. I usually am not able to get close to them. Word must have gotten out to them that I have a You Tube channel and they wanted to be in on the action. 😆 Thanks for watching Warren.
We have some down by me in the Waterloo area but only in the winter months. Yours did not act very scared at all. You need to get a camera with a nice zoom lens and a tripod and get some pictures of them.
@@warrenpotter , I got close enough that time to shake hands with them. Usually, as I come around the bend from them, they take off. According to my range finder, that is a bit beyond 300 yards, when they come into view. Not unusual at all to see them. See them almost every day. Just not that close.
