It kind of reminds me of a jacket from the 90s. Almost a faded sort of look but I like that its durable. Not sure it exactly looks like a $350 piece but perhaps seeing one in real life will change my mind.

Just got the hoodless version of this and I love it. I have a 10 plus year old columbia coat that is twice the weight, is bulky, and no where near as warm or stylish. By far my fav winter coat I have ever had.

Great review, I just got the gray hoodless version. I actually purchased one up in Utah but they only had a large and I’m about your build and I think I definitely needed an extra large so I took it back but then they were sold out of them for a while and as it’s getting cold again, and I really hate being cold, I decided to purchase another one. You’re right about it being a good looking jacket though, and the fit really is amazing for athletic builds.

Nice review! I just picked up the Khaki colored no-hood version (wish I'd have got the hoodie now...) this past weekend. Love my Puffy Coats but also love Waxed cotton on some of my old Filson jackets. However those Filson jackets are not very warm (definitely need to layer under) and heavy heavy heavy, compared to a puffy coat. This is the perfect combo so far. I normally wear an XL Jacket but due to the very tapered fit of this one I had to go XXL. The XL was a bit tight for my 5'11" height w/ 50" chest w/36" waist. Arms are normal length and the jacket length is a tad bit long... but not too long. I'm also normally carrying a pistol, a light and other accessories on my waist so another reason I opted for the slightly more roomy XXL size. The XL fit like a custom Sports Coat on me. :)

Have you reapplied wax to it and how did it turn out? I have one and I’m surprised at how much it absorbs water. I’m in Alaska and even with some light snow it was making the jacket wet.

Do they make it in a XL TALL?, I'm 6' 4" tall and have long arms, I usually wear a 42" long in a jacket.

Great review - how would you compare this to the Spyfire Hoody and Aktivator Hoody? Im based in San Diego but looking for a jacket for mountain/hiking trips as well as visiting the wife's family in Germany during snowy winters. Thanks for any insight!

how heavy is this jacket compared to a more traditional puffy with similar fill?
