Kuhn Mower Rebuild Part 2 Gearbox Removal 

Hi Jay, you did a good job taking that gear box off there. Now all you have to do is see what new seals and bearings you need in it. I replaced the gear boxes on a woods mower one time and it needed new seals and bearings. Then I put it back together and it worked just fine. Pete

Take you some thin car leaf springs and weld to skids I have done that on my old bush hog cutter works good last forever.

It's steel and unfortunately it's shot as you'll see in the next video. I wish I had some GOOD chisels. All mine are junk...Made in China.

Is the cutter bar made out of cast iron or steel I got one but I don't know I was thinking cast but I might be wrong. on those rounded off nuts when I was working at the plant if we at a place where had no torch take a chisel and hammer and mark the nut good most of time it would come lose, the plant was old chemical plant used lot of acid about all the bolts and nuts were rusty and froze up so I know about rusted bolts. I may mail you a good ball peen hammer.

Could of saved yourself a lot of time with a bigger hammer instead of using the chisel lol
