Brother please talk to me i dont want to make a public statement about this because i actually love your work snd dont want to tarnish that, let me resolve this amacably i have no idea where your frustration is coming from especially if you dont commuicate with me. Ps for anyone not in the loop i have paid for this song and have a contract and kujo is fully credited so im not sure why he has decided to copyright strike it. For kujos sake I don't want this to go the legal route either. But it's frustrating if he won't actually explain what's wrong. Ren poured his heart and soul into creating Sick Boi, which is not something that I am just assuming. This is what I know, because it can be seen, heard, and felt when someone is being truly real and genuine. He has given us so much more than just great music for us to listen to. He has shown us his struggles and opened up about these in a very personal way that many of us can relate to ourselves. Watching his earlier videos, he looked so frail and vulnerable and I really felt for him, yet you could see what a truly beautiful soul he was and there was this light about him and you can still see that now. He has overcome so much to be where he is today from where he was with his health and that level of drive to overcome such adversities could not be purely motivated by greed and a love of money. So please, yes you should have the money you originally agreed on, but think about what you are doing to Ren and the people who care about him and his music purely over $$$.

Do the right thing, kujo. You can see how hard Ren worked on his album, dont take something that special away from the world.

Acrually fuck it, lets make it public, they also pointed out they could legally claim 100% of all royalities on this song over a youtube content ID technicality and loophole in the contract. Sadly the way the legal system is weighted against small artists there may be weight behind this, so not only are they asking for more theyre threateneing (or as kujo says 'ppinting out') that they could claim the whole thing if i dont agree to the terms. This song was not made famous judging by its views until Ren paid for and sampled it. I hope it gets resolved before the media get hold of it. Because Rens profits aren't spent on living it up large. Hes sick, and hes battling. And taking a percentage of what hes created isn't fair or right.

I've been ill for over 25 years, and the song Sick Boi and others on the Sick Boi album have helped me feel seen and understood for the first time. It's absolutely right that everyone should be compensated for their art, and I hope that you and Ren can sort this out so that the original contract is honoured properly and everyone - including the artists you yourself sampled here - can be proud to be part of such an awesome track that means so much to so many people. Ren has worked really hard on the song and album and did everything the right way and is now going out of his way to sort a problem that wasn't his to begin with! It's unfair to use the copyright strike on his video, please allow it to stay up 🙁. Ren is really trying to sort it all out fairly!

BeatStars terms: "Users may not post content they do not own or control". Kujo didn't own the content (sample) he made the beat out of, didn't control the copyright of that sample, and was in breach of the BeatStars terms, so shouldn't have even been allowed to sell the beat in the first place. Kujo cannot make a legal claim against Ren for a beat he didn't have clearance to profit from, and legally wasn't allowed to sell that beat to anyone, or place it on the BeatStars site to sell. At worst, Ren needs to give royalties to Koutev Bulgarian National Ensemble/Philip Koutev. The 70 years copyright rule does not give Kujo the right to use it because Philip Koutev died in 1982, so there's still 31 years left on the copyright.

So many of us are drawn to Ren as a musician due to his empathy and integrity. They are powerful traits to have. Please work with him and allow his fans to have this video back. Do the right thing and people will notice. The music industry is unnecessarily cut throat when it should be a medium that brings us together. Why not fight WITH Ren instead of against him?

Can you please give back Sick Boi? You can’t go back on a contract, you literally agreed on a price/percentage and you can’t just decide you want more because Ren is doing well. It’s unprofessional, contracts are literally legal agreements - you can’t just change the perimeters of it once it’s signed.
