I would like to note that Kuma is actually pretty good in Tekken 8, not the best, but he's got a lot of good going for him. Panda is terrible though, do NOT play panda until they fix her bugs.

I love my Bears just as much as I love Bass in DoA. I wish Panda's 1+2 grab were more like Xiaoyu instead of the headbutt. The small thing is what bothers me 😂

If you're new to tekken, it'll be like that with almost any character In the beginning besides the ones with brain dead options like Victor, those Ls come later. But everyone goes through it mostly. Lots and lots of Ls.

Kuma is very rewarding and fun to play with. You can actually get away with a lot of things using him. For example, you can spam 1, 2 for chip damage. If your opponent starts to duck, do 1,1,1 for launch. Then if the opponent doesn't duck again, you go back to 1, 2. Also did you know that from Hunting Bear, if you do 1, hold 2, you get +3 frames on block and some chip damage? Kuma works well with threatening chip damage. I've won matches by chip damage alone, so learn moves that do just that. Then work on the stances. Best of luck, you got this!

This is my first Tekken that I’m actually trying to learn and I’ve been having so much fun with Reina and Kuma. Kuma was an unexpected surprise and I’ve learned so much more with him and how intimidating he can be, but this guide helped remind me I should be using some moves that I don’t use often. You are singlehandedly carrying me in Tekken. These guides are so good. One thing I think would be nice is if you kept the inputs in the bottom right as you were talking about them. Might just be me but it helps me visualize what to press if the inputs were kept there the entire time, even if it's small. Could also show the input (hunting stance for example) down arrow below it. Looking forward to more videos. You're the goat!!

I'm kinda new to Tekken and I play king atm. My plan was trying out jack8 and kuma next. This was before you released all your videos 😂 it's crazy imo, how similar taste is in fighting games. I'm a long time sub and this was like that in almost all the fighters I played in the last years. Potemkin, Astaroth, Broly, Geras, King and so many others. You had them all and I wanted to say a big thanks. Especially for the fact, that you dont focus on "likes" alone. So no better way to come up with kuma on your 2k video ❤

I'm glad Kuma gets a video so early on, I just love the big fella. I just got into Tekken with 8 and my friend told me to just pick a character I thought was cool or whose gameplay was something I think I'd might like and stick with it. So I thought how about the bear since he's silly and I've been enjoying every moment, even the moments when my friends rage at my Kuma gameplay.

I’ve played Kuma since release and its been an absolute ride to say the least, went from going on an absolute tear one session hitting Vanquisher winning 10 sets in a row, and then absolutely getting rolled the next session and I considered dropping him. As time goes on I think Kuma will be harder to play as people adapt but I honestly enjoy playing him so much I dont wanna drop him. This video will be insanely helpful 👍🏼

If you have rage and heat and get a launcher, after the normal combo when you get to the u/f+2, you can dash in, heat burst, get another u/f+2 and then Rage Art. Does over 100, and can easily close out a match even if you were way behind. Best part is it doesn't use a Heat Dash so you still have Heat afterwards if they survive. This comes in clutch more often than you might think.

Good stuff. Only thing I would add is something about the Bear’s “get off me” moves to slow people who rush you down and jail/frame you out. Also, I just like that they added a snake-strike to the Bear’s HBS throw… you can be farther away than in 7 and the bears will rapidly reach out their necks to grab you, at least from what it looks like😂

Love this guide! actually there is a difference between Panda and Kuma heat smash. Kuma 13f startup, 51 dmg and wallsplat/wallbreak Panda 15f startup, 44 dmg and groundbreak, can go into bear roll

I always need to learn basic Bear in most Tekken games. Back in the heyday of T5DR I was shown the light when a dude who usually actually played Lei busted out a pocket Kuma and just did some incredibly goofy shit, KOing by the jumping sit-down or the backstroke. That and in this game, Electric Wind Bear Claw is a huge appeal.

Look for the- Bear 'lectricities, the simple bear 'lectricities. Forget about your parries and your heat.

Legitimately the only reason i started playing panda was because i looked at the community tier list and saw she was the only D-tier and have been using her exclusively through the Arcade Quest in an attempt to get good at her and see how far i can get (i never played fighting games before Tekken 8 and was never good at any of the fighting games ive tried) and well, i believe im almost finished Arcade and she hasnt let me down once, im interested in seeing how far i can get when i finally get to online battles.
