Was practicing the combo coming out of the backup stance 3 meteor kick to get the timing and noticed that if you listen for the sound of Alisa's boosters activating on the run in and react to that with your DF+1 to continue combo, it makes that insane damage pretty much 100% consistent *with just a little practice. Incredible guide btw, insane this is "starter"
Lets go im looking forward to this. Welcome back frame! Dude i still love your style of character guides. I watched this slowly over the span of a day. It is not a complete guide of everything that you can do with Alisa but it makes her gameplan very tangible while still giving some in depth tech and ideas. Great work frame, much appreciated!
Great video! I picked up a lot of useful information. A few things I found that might be helpful: 20:10 After f3,2 you can do b1+2(powercrush) and you'll get 50 dmg instead of 47, but the new string is wall carry 21:05 the second hit of hopkick is safer than the first (I believe it was the other way around in T7) so make sure to always do both kicks 22:15 b4 is extremely useful in some situations as you mention it has more range, to get more dmg you need to counter hit with JUST b4 and then you can use your WS 1,2(,3) string to get the combo going. Just be careful not to press the second hit(b4,4). It's not just nonoptimal but also EXTREMELY punishable. I still can't stop spamming it and get my ass beat -.- 33:25 after F1+2 you can also follow up with b1+2 for more dmg but be careful not to press it too early, or you'll be stuck in back launch animation which is -53 on block, so good luck getting death combo`ed. You can do the follow up in the video for wall carry. Launch if you can react well enough to see if the hit connects to get the oki(DBT 1+2 works great in that case) or if you are back to the wall you are guaranteed a backwards 1(or 2) attack with the saws but (again) extremely risky as you can get wall combo`ed. 52:48 you can follow up WR2 with b1+2 for the same 50 dmg, it's safer as it's powercrush. Or If you hit, you can continue with showcased f1+2 and go into SBT or DBT for oki. 59:58 I couldn't get this to work consistently even 50% of the time, (practised just now, still can't get it to work ;-;) so for those who struggle I suggest the other options in the video or play around with WS 1,2,delayed d3 and my fav move d2,4. Both alongside ff3,4,4 go into chainsaws so it's not that bad and they are great options if you don't have spin at the wall after wall carry. Also I want to elaborate on two moves. b2,1 imo is now only applicable in 2 situations: get a cheeky counterhit with the second hit(d/f4,4 to pick up your opponent) or in combo for floor breaks. You can use only the first hit bc it's safe but why if you have d/b2,2 which is also a mid-mid string and the second hit is also -9 on block. Also you can use it in combo to get a wall or general wall carry AND you get your chainsaws with 1+2 for oki/pressure/wall. It's just better all around but (AGAIN) don't forget to finish the string or get -18 punished. And yeah, the second git of b2,1 doesn't have nosebleed effect now like it used in T7(yeah, it was in the game and it gave you guaranteed f3,1 follow up. I abused the heck out of it xD ) My absolute fav mixup now is instant WS1+2 (for example after b1 or d/b3 etc.). If they try to stand up instantly, you get a ws1,2,3 into u1 and I don't do anything fancy, just new DBT f1 ender. All of that hits for 75% hp :D And for the love of Dr. Bosconovitch, don't forget to utilize the Alisa's staple WS1,2(,3). You can do so much with it in this game in combos and at the walls. Peace
instead of WR3 you mean WR2 and instead of b2,2 you mean b2,1. I was so confused reading from your notes without clicking the timestamps but thankyou for the very helpful footnote. b2,4 is awesome ur right i managed 89 damage at the wall from b2,4 > b2,4 > u1 > b2,4 > 2,3,3 man i love resplats
What do you mean with "If they try to stand up instantly, you get a ws1,2,3 into u1"? If I set the practice dummy to quick recovery after knockdown and use ws1+2 into ws1,2,3 it does not connect?
@@NikoPikoo Yeah, it only connects when they press up or back to get up. It rarely works (after beginning ranks) but that's why my game plan is to apply heavy pressure and make the enemy make mistakes. But when it hits, it feels super good :D
Tried Alisa for the first time after watching your stream on Friday; was never a fan in 7 but curious to try her in 8. My god, she's perfect. The pokes, the movement, the absolute face-wrecking mixup/knowledge check potential of the chainsaws. She's insane. Very excited to sit down with this guide and study; thanks for posting, Frame =)
wow at the end where you recommended playing along with the guide in training, that's actually exactly what i was doing. This style is really nice for that, I was able to keep up and see firsthand what you meant while you were explaining, I think it'll be super helpful, so thank you!
im new to tekken and ive been practicing majority of her moves. i havent watched any specific character guides yet, so i dont really know which moves are good. this really is an excellent and detailed guide, and everything makes sense. thank you for making this.
Great video! At first i found it too long but as i picked up the character and started playing an began to see the format's true value. This is a subscribe from me. Here's to many more great guides and videos!😊
This is the first time i'm watching one of your vids, I was an alisa main back in T6, even in 7 (TTG), now we're here. This guide really clarified the changes between 7 and 8, the magic 4 that is not CH launcher, some input changes, wall carriers etc. I have to admit that this is probably the most helpful guide for T8 alisa, and it really helped me to transition from the previous game to this one. You're amazing, thank you :D p.s Dear viewers, this video is legit if you wanna start playing alisa in T8, trust me, it's 100% to what he says.
Excellent guide. I appreciate in depth stuff like this for my main. Loved using her in 7, gonna definitely love her in 8. Thanks for this useful video!
Watching this video as a complete beginner to both Tekken and to the character, I must say this video gave lots of insight! But I also want to say that it would be much more helpful if you put the combos you are doing on the screen aswell as you are talking/showcasing them. I know I can see the button history on the left and I get it that people who have played the game a lot will understand the strings, but as for others with little experience as myself its very hard to transcribe and try in-game. But otherwise it a really good guide and I really appreciate the length of the video, will most likely watch the whole thing a couple of times as I get better to try figure out the more advanced stuff.
Starting out with T8, finding Alisa as my main (mostly due to how she looks as i need to learn the game anyway), this guide has been super helpful! As ive been playing matches i indeed noticed a few things you mentioned (like the power or UF1 which also works when pressuing just U1, though the F part helps moving in for more dmg). Ill definitely be adding more based on this! ^^
When I started playing Tekken for the very first time with T7, I started with Alisa, watching your tutorials on her with a notebook by my side to take notes on important stuff. I look forward to doing the same now. Keep up the good work
Finally got the chance to watch it all the way through and definitely a bunch of stuff that helped fill some gaps I was noticing, especially some of the wall stuff. She's quickly become my favourite character to play in the game right now and the mix of dry 'they can't complain, they know why they lost' style pokes and launchers crossed with silly shenanigans makes her a nice balance.
Very good guide. The only thing I'd say is that you shoulda mentioned the Power Crush that she has from Chainsaw stance. Everytime one of your moves get blocked you can make the opponent second guess themselves with the Power Crush and if it connects you can keep your turn and apply more Chainsaw moves, it's amazing for her. Edit: The input is b1+2, I don't think it shows up in the Move List for some reason. | Also 1+2 (the Homing High) is +4 on Block, not sure if that's a change from T7 but it's insane for her.
Crazy that I was on this channel years ago for the Eliza guides. Now with Eliza gone I've found myself here again for the Alisa guides. Just the type of video I needed, thanks for this ^^
Great video man. I haven't played Tekken properly since Tag on the PS2, I just messed around with friends in Tekken 7. I never got into Alisa but I sat down and followed this video while playing and damn....she's so good. Going to practice with her for sure.
This helped a great deal! My only critique is maybe adding annotations on screen for some things you are talking about. But, other than that great guide!
First video saw from this channel and subscribed. Great guide! Would be even better if there were some timestamps for different sections (basic moves, punishes, combos etc.). Would help greatly if wants to come back to video and check certain section again.
10:33 One important thing to note about this extension (df1,1,2) is it's guaranteed on CH now, so if the df1 counter hits the rest is all guaranteed. Does 60 damage and leaves you in DES at +8, so definitely worth throwing out sometimes.
The timing of this couldn't have been more perfect for me. My buddy asked me to learn Alisa because he hates the matchup. Shes been alot of fun to play again. Really solid imo
Hey man good video! I have watched some of your Tekken 7 videos in the past also. I main Kaz but I like to play other characters as well and this video has helped me with Alisa like tremendously. Gonna watch your Lars guide as well, but are you gonna do a Zafina guide like you did in Tekken 7? I saw the Tekken 7 videos and they were over an hour long. Might have been my best 1 to 2 hours though cause most of those characters move list are so damn extensive. Thanks and have a good day.
btw I like the option of screwing at wall with b2,3. the crazy uf1 wallcombo worked every time for me with it. no backdash requierd, but 9 dmg less (still a lot though) also worth metioning that it is worth to save up your screw if you can make it to the wall without it. ub2 is also a good option to wallsplat at the end of a combo.
38:00 yoshi can option select both options here with flash, doesn't matter if NSS or 1SS; and raven can parry both options with his universal parry as well, just a tip for both alisa players and yoshi/raven players
New to the game so genuine question; would the WS 1, 2 not be decent even when you just use it as WS 1, 2 ,1+2(destructo cancel) to get the saws out on plus frames?
Happy to see a full fledged character guide from you for T8. Would you consider doing one for Zafina as well? I really liked your T7 guide for her, and she feels a lot different in this game. I’d be curious to hear your thoughts on her gameplan
Is 2,2 too fast to be duckable on reaction? You talk about punishing it on block but it's a non-jailing high string which I'm always a little wary about.
Alisa is B tier imo. Tho They gave her a few changes, she's pretty much what she should have been in t7. So she's still playing catch up. Especially since the nerf to her df 1 4 and db 3
I’m combining with 1,2 d charge 2 into while standing 1,2,3. Haven’t tried online but it shows a 4 hit combo off the d 2 charged 1,2,3 which leads into big damage following with u f 1, single jet dash with neutral 3 1,2,1,3+4. I’m new to tekken so maybe it’s not true combo but it shows it does in practice 🤷🏼♂️
The up back 2 when hit and the opponent does not roll backwards, you can follow it up with an up back 1 before the opponent is fully lying down and it does much more damage compared to up back 2 then f 1+2
Pretty useful I already mained her since 6 tbh even older guides can help just peeps gotta remember her Key moves they are "Key" for a reason db3 and b1 are way too important so many alisa's forget they are playing a poker.
Alisa now has a lot more fun new combos, but to get maximum damage you have to quit chainsaw stance at the end, which can be troublesome. I kinda tend to maintain my chainsaw stance and continue with the chainsaw plays...
While standing 1, 2 can indeed be very dangerous. Earlier today, I kept auto-piloting into this, and my opponent just kept ducking and punishing the ever-living sh** out of me, it was brutal 😭
I remember the early days of T7 where DES wasn't even that good. It's been nice to watch her get continually refined and buffed over the years since then. Being able to switch back and forth between cautious poking and explosive chainsaw rushdown is really satisfying.
when trying out combos and struggling with the timing of "while standing" a bit during matches (first time actually trying at tekken since years), i tried going into up forward 2 instantly. The timing to do a run up for a second up forward 1 is a lot easier and still deals 66 damage and you get a mixup after. And then i actually tried more and you can get a chainsawboost 1+2 after the second uf1. 75 damage and pretty easy to dofor beginners. Edit: Nvm the 1+2 comboing might have been the tiniest bit of wall influence, cant replicate it. But launcher into uf1 run up uf1 works well for beginners, though obv not optimal. also messed up connotations and wrote up forward 2 instead of 1, fixed mistake)
hello! im totally new to tekken so i dont undestand evrything yet so could someone tell me how he gets out the chainsaws after teh dash at 18:14 ? all i see is him pressing 2 i think but i cant do it ... Thanks for the help and thank you for your video!
Welcome to Tekken! The chainsaws only come out if this move hits an opponent who is attacking. This is called a counter hit. If you score a counter hit, they will come out automatically :)
@@FrameWhisperer oh I see thanks! I'll try it again not sure if i'm just inputting it late. I just noticed she doesn't go into chainsaw mode when i do the boot
