As with most Black kids born in the '70's, Jim Kelly was THE Black action hero we tried to imitate in the ghettos. Black Belt Jones stands alone in my martial arts movie favorites. The character Sydney that Gloria played so well is the entire reason why I named my daughter so. She's only six months old but I know one day she'll ask where her name came from and I'll have her watch the movie with me.
