Kunpengopterus antipollicatus was a middle to late Jurassic pterosaur from the Tiaojishan Formation in China. K. antipollicatus had an opposable digit that would have made the pterosaur adept at grabbing tree branches and possibly other little tasty things.

Judging by the photo above the bed, this bug didn't learn from the tragic death of his wife a few years prior to this incident. She had told him to get some kind of door/window/anything for better security, but he always insisted that they lived in a safe neighborhood. He should've listened.

Singularily fantastic folly work on this one, which is usually something most non professional animations lack. The skittering sound of the pterosaur on the tree sounds the exact right weight, the clapping of the beak is right, and while not anatomically correct (since pterosaur's breath out the end of their beaks) the breathing sound while its eyeing up the bug just *feels* right. And ouf course the fact that the whole joke is sold off the perfect looney tunes ass snoring of the bug in bed. Fantastic work all round

Okay weird suggestion: a Lepidodendron (or any arborescent Lycopsid, really) falling over in a Carboniferous coal swamp. Maybe have it crush an unsuspecting Arthropleura or two for good measure.

This was adorable and so creatively brilliant. I love this idea of a limited static perspective that still has a perfectly energetic narrative happening in it or offscreen. I half expected the punchline was that the bird was going to crash in headfirst and reach for the little bug but only just after he woke up and stood, then stretched and bent over, maybe to grab to reach something. And the bird would crash violently and hurt its head and miss, and after destroying the room and leave the bug distraught, offscreen the bird is heard flapping away and in a funny voice going "RRRRGH GAWDDAMNIT!!!"
