Of course he was a "legit wrestler back in the day", he's a freaking Gold medal olympian. He did had many opportunities to do UFC, especially since he's pretty close with Dana White for a while, but he loved professional wrestling more and was given the choice to drop one or the other.
@@AlexSanchez-tj4ph he was not the best wrestler in the world during his career That honor belonged to Aleksandr Karelin He wasnt even the best US wrestler That honor belonged to Bruce Baumgartner
UFC was a thing. The two of his idols growing up and guys that helped train him were the Shultz brothers one of whom had a match at UFC 5 I believe. The thing is that MMA was REALLY looked down on at that time and wasn’t paying even close to what it is now (which isn’t nearly enough) and the major colleges wouldn’t allow you to coach their wrestling programs if you were doing MMA, that’s why Mark Shultz only had the one fight. Kurt made way more money wrestling than he ever would’ve doing MMA, but he’s as legit as they come.
Coleman and Kerr would've destroyed him They were buch bigger by then (as opposed to when they competed amateur) Much bigger than Angle Angle would've had to cut weight to under 200lbs and then he would've been dealing with fellow gold medalist Kevin Jackson or Frank Shamrock
@@shooter7734 wow can see every of your hate comments on all of the comments section. Someone's being jealous here. Haha he's a olympic gold medalist, what are you boy? Some chump with no profile picture. Get a life
Even though I'm more than familiar with The Schmo for some reason, maybe because I didn't see his face, I thought it was Nardwuar doing the interview 😂😂
If I had never seen Kurt in my life I'd say he looks old. But because I grew up watching him, I still see young Kurt angle when i look at him. It feels like my mind's playing tricks on me.
I think the first time he played it was against Usman 1... that steez almost had me shaking. It's a shame people like Dan Hooker dont understand it at all
Vs Lawler and hooker just doesn't like the shit talking not many do, their real fighters not wwe stars that at the end they shake hands and go on with their day, remember when werdum confronted him and punk him?
@@713JL Idk if I would call what Werdum did punking anybody. He got into it with a guy close to 100 lbs lighter than him and decided to throw something at him like a schoolgirl would
@@713JL the man is selling ppvs his own own, chael was doing the same thing but better. But Hooker and Werdum get their feelings hurt... the UFC forces fighters to do things like that...
Pay some respect. Kurt Angle is not just "The WWF Guy". He's Olympic Gold Medalist in 1996. Kurt Angle was a beast back then on ACTUAL COMBAT SPORT far before the guy name Colby.
Embarrassing response, especially with all the exclamation marks. He wasn’t mocking him, he just didn’t know who he was yet. And 90% of the UFC fanbase did actually know he was, hence chanting the “you suck” reference to his heel WWE gimmick when Colby used his song.
There is a surprising amount of bald middle-aged men in the fighting world -Joe Rogan -Dana White -Jon Anik -Kurt Angle -Daniel Cormier -Bas Rutten The list goes on 😅
@@Flixlim No, he's just a Khabib fan who is unfamiliar with unpadded records. Colby didn't pad his record for 20 wins against plumbers from Dagestan so he's no good according to Khabib dickriders. Anyone with any loss is garbage (except Pisslam of course who's knockout loss they ignore).
