Hey, there. If you're a Mac users, please understand that MacOS currently does not support MST, and using a single USB-C cable won't allow you to have 2 extended screens, but only extend to duplicate screens. For AV Access users, we do offer 30-Day Money Back policy. Feel free to talk to our support at info@avaccess.com if you have any questions. Hope you can find your perfect KVM. ; )
I’ve been using this for several weeks now and i have experienced disconnecting issues for several seconds many times on desktop machine. It reconnects after several seconds so it’s not much a problem when you work, but it’s a big issue if you are playing games.
Hi. Thanks for your feedback. This model is not for connecting desktop PC, but two laptops. Not sure what's going on with the setup. You can contact us via info@avaccess.com. Detailed information about the product, connection and devices in your setup will help. If the product has problem, our 30-day money back policy has you covered. Just don't miss out the date.
HI, 1) may I know if the 2 monitors can be switched between both laptops on command? so from 2 monitors to 1 laptop A switch to 1 monitor to 1 laptop A and one monitor to laptop B switch to 2 monitors to laptop B ? 2) does this support gaming with 120Hz or 60 Hz?
I bought this and just set it up an hour ago. It was fairly easy to set up. I have a MacBook Pro 2019 and a Lenovo Thinkpad sharing 1 monitor. First off, I actually like this! It makes work and my personal projects so much easier to toggle back and forth whenever I need! My issue now is that I wanted to connect my Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse so I wouldn’t have to use two kinds. I was able to connect my these to my Thinkpad, however, when I switched back to the MacBook, it disconnected the mouse and keyboard. When I switched it back to the Thinkpad, it disconnected there as well. Is this just a glitch or did I do something wrong?
@@avaccess Actually, I connected them via bluetooth, as they do not have the usb to plug into the dock. I did find a solution though: I used a PC keyboard and mouse with the usb to plug into the mouse port on the dock. It still works on my Macbook. So I'm fine with that.
I am not super techie and trying to learn about KVM and what I need. I have 2 laptops and 2 monitors. I want to be able to display pc 1 on 1 monitor and pc 2 on the second monitor and be able to switch and use the mouse on either screen / laptop. Will this support that? I didn't see how you woudl switch the mouse and keyboard from one monitor to the other.
Hi. KVM switch switches screens, kb, mouse, and other peripherals altogether. Looks like you don't need to switch screen but only kb and mouse. You can use a USB switch or just use kb mouse combo that supports dual device connection.
Is the iDock C20 compatible with the Lenovo thinkpads T14s Gen 1 & 2? These laptops usually require a docking station and I was wondering if I could bypass the docking station with the IDock c20?
The built in MST function, is this limited to two screens? My current Docking station has one DP port that goes to a 3-Port DisplayPort 1.2 Splitter to have 3 screens. Could i easily replace my current dock with the C20? it has everything else i need, just i'm hungry for 3 screens. 😀
No, I mean can we project (display the laptop screen and keeping laptop screen of, like we do with CPU desptop) screen to Monitor(instead of mirroring to monitor)
Is there anyway to remove / change the Hotkeys for swapping screens??? Mine are on the mouse buttons and i hit them randomly when i dont want to change the screens, this kinda a problem....
I've been using this for a couple of days now. My work laptop works smoothly with it, but my personal laptop won't wake my monitors once the laptop has gone to sleep. Even if I open the laptop screen again, it will not connect to the monitors. I have to unplug and replug in the USB C connector. Is there a solution for this? It's frustrating and almost defeats the purpose of having a kvm switch. I don't know if it has anything to do with the fact that my work laptop is powered by USB-C so I am able to connect it directly to the KVM switch so that the switch is also charging it. My personal laptop is a gaming one and is powered by this massive plug thing. I connect my USB-C port from it to the back of the KVM. Does anyone have any solutions? I've tried so many things to no avail.
Have you tried setting your computers to not sleep? That may not be the solution you’re looking for but may overcome the KVM’s quirks. I don’t own one of these so I can’t say it is a solution
Try change the settings: 1. « Hardware and Sound › Power Options › System Settings When I close the lid: do nothing 2. Go into the BIOS and found an option to "Resume by USB device" and enable Check the power of your gaming laptop, if it is over 100W, it might can't be charged by the iDock C20.
It is not clear in the video or product description. In addition to switching all peripherals (both monitors), does this dock support split mode where laptop1 can use 1 monitor and laptop2 uses the other monitor?
Thanks for letting me know. We'll explain this in the future videos. No, this model only supports KVM functions. The "split mode" you mentioned would be like a USB switch, so we named it "USB mode". We do have a model supports that (bit.ly/3DlK2cy).
@@avaccess the ultimate KVM product would be a mix between this C20 model, with the USB-C connectivity, and the "USB Mode" of the product you've linked. With that linked model, no one wants to connect 2x HDMI cables from each laptop, that's 4x HDMI cables sprawled across a desk, and still needing 2x laptop power cords, so 6x cords - crazy! At this stage, it's still easier to avoid a monitor KVM to achieve "USB Mode", just using a single USB-C cord per monitor directly into each laptop and, if one laptop should display on both, simply connect the 2nd USB-c cord into the laptop. It's a manual apprach. Devices, such as webcams, keyboards, mice etc, can be managed by a standard USB Hub Switcher connecting to the monitors. Your products are close but still don't provide a solution to the USB-C compatible "USB Mode" that everyone is wanting.
Does this provide power delivery? If it does how many watts? If two machines are plugged are both charged or only the current active machine set by the KVM? Is this powered by its own adapter? Is the adapter autovolt (supports both 110v and 220v)?
Hi. Quite an important reminder. For MacBook users, you are right. Currently MacBooks don't support MST, so 2 extended videos are not allowed to happen. That's why you see 2 extended screens for Windows, but not Mac in the video.
Be careful, marketing is misleading, but even the KVM specs do not clarify this. You cannot use both monitors as separate displays, which makes this switch useless in my opinion.
Hi, understand your concerns. The KVM switch itself supports 2 extended screens. Most laptops will be OK, but Mac users do need to take this into consideration (most Macbooks do not support MST).
