There is a good old saying that you should never meet your heroes. The ppl that the media loves to prop up in a good light tend to be the biggest narcissists and assholes. MJ was lucky not to have social media in his time or he would be crucified like Lebron.
Giving them millions of dollars expecting them to produce is tearing them down? You do understand that teams want their players to succeed? That no one wins if he fails as no1 pick?
Wow, I have run dealerships for 20 years some of the places had over 100 employees! #1 rule is praise in public discipline in private!!! When you tell someone, you will be the worst #1 pick ever, and not give the recipe to improve that person, there is no upside! It’s sad because people need to hear this because most people are quick to judge, quick to call someone a bust, but would you ever want that verbiage for your kids from their employer!!! America Better Wake Up Real Quick!!!
The problem with someone like Doug Collins was that he has connections. For whatever reasons, he was consistently liked. And that is a problem in any industry despite one's flaws. I always heard stories on how well liked Doug Collins was. Whether he was either fired or he decided to step down, Doug would always land on his feet working at an NBA studio or do broadcasting. He always had some type of job. I initially thought Doug Collins was a super successful coach when he coached for the Chicago Bulls. But my opinions changed about him after he became the coach of the Pistons. It's unfortunate, but Doug Collins is a certifiable representation of a guy in charge that many people despise at the workplace. But he stays ahead of everyone landing more high paying jobs after another because someone really high simply likes the guy and receives positive references from other high powered people. Doug was a solid NBA pro, I'll give him that. But the way he's often spoken about, I once assumed he was a Hall-of-Famer.
How Kwame was treated during this time. Needs to be investigated big time. And the NBA should Be held accountable.😡😡 . So Stephen A Smith You Decided You Wanted to Tear A Young Black Man Down. I There was a lot of people who knew About this. A whole lot of PEOPLE!!!!
What are you talking about? he wasnt misstreated. This is just attention. Look at his stats! they never improved he was an average player at #1 draft pick, he never delivered if anything he was lucky they were pushing him toward greatness, but he just couldnt go there. He thought he was extra special cos in highschool, he was, AGAINST HIGHSCHOOLERS. he had a longish nba career, why believe this guy? What did they do hit him with a newspaper? Molest him? Push his abilities? That last one is every player and coaches and trainers job.
@@T..1147 lol this guy kwame trying to drag names through the mud cos he never produced HIS WHOLE CAREER! He is blaming mj why didnt he improve? Mj follow him around city to city? Think about it man.
I really want to hear Doug Collins respond to how he treated Kwame. He's been real quiet throughout all this. He probably too embarrassed to admit how horrible of a coach he was.
@@davidvickers8425 assuming you have a job, if you went to work and were subjected to harsh daily belittling and berating (never mind at such a young age) the mental abuse should take a toll on your confidence and work output.
@@MauriSky2437 you think every rookie didnt get that? Every greehorn, every noob, tenderfoot, aprentice, learner, virgin, new hand, recruit. If he thinks mj was tough try being a ranch hand and add some angry 2000lb bulls to the mix of demanding bosses. I have a house and small farm, i dont owe a bank money either.
I’m just curious just how is MJ like as a person. Cause psychologically it’s seems he gets a kick out of making people miserable. Either that or the stories are exaggerated
after watching the documentary i decided he was a whacko. was he a hell of a competitor? yes. a great winner? yes. but who cares really its just a game. he treated people like shit so if i saw mike i would flip him the bird and keep walking
@@davidhopkins462 yeah christian and popeye were putting up better stats at the same position, and they were only averaging 8 - 9 minutes more. Highschoolers were seen as weak so no matter what team if he wasnt outplaying the vets he would have been put in a box. He seems to have a crappy attitude now, and maybe he did then? Mj wanted to win to prove himself, not babysit, its like a welfare mentality, he worked to get to the nba, and had expectations, but getting there is just half the journey. You have ~30 teams with ~15 on a roster. theres still work to do, esp for a child. Kobe worked his place.
"You know, dang, I do got a Mercedes outside." What a perspective. They couldn't beat you, and I am thankful for your experience then because you are strengthening SO many others now.
I remembered reading a story from the media that mentioned that coach Collins and MJ made Kwame cry and run into the dressing room. A story which is now verified as false. The media can be cruel. I actually once believed that story until teammates such as Etan Thomas stepped up and confirmed the stories weren't true.
Two brothers from much different back grounds and education levels with a common thread of a love of the game. Friendship is real and nice to see brothers support each other.
So they yelled at him and worked him out 5 hours before game time? No wonder he wasn’t scoring! When he was rested, he was able to score. WOW! All about the narrative and politics. The NBA, aka The Machine, ain’t shiiiii!!!
The redemption of Kwame Brown, and also Ryan leaf in football, is just extraordinary. These are two dudes, who were the butt of every joke, who have created another life for themselves through the media. Amazing.
From what I remember kwame was a really good defender good rebounder his offensive game just never got to "#1 pick" level but neither did tyson chandler 🤷🏾♂️
I think Kwame played on more than 7 NBA teams and played in the league 11 years.thats more than the average drafted NBA player which is 5 years. I'm glad he stands up for himself even though he wasn't very successful. But playing in the NBA win or lose is a blessing.
Y’all keep talking about investigating how he was treated when it’s been documented that the refs purposely was fucking over Allen Iverson just because they didn’t like him. Discrimination at its finest! First of all, Iverson was an actual superstar that deserved to be treated better than most of the people he played against. If Kwame was anything like A.I, we wouldn’t even be discussing his career. Secondly, what job have you ever worked where the older more tenured guys are looking out for the younger guys that are actually there to replace them? I’m waiting. Any and every job I’ve worked at was more about keeping who we need vs keeping who wanted to be kept.
crickets boss, they not gonna answer you because most of these people are soft af and they want everything easy. Lil momma boys Massive Success is obtained through NO PAIN NO GAIN, period.
MJ., Doug, legacies matter.Think about that. The journey u took to get there. The journey...,All the players you've encountered on the NBA level.Remember the one constant, with all of u that have made it.Respectability ,give back to the ones who are comin, never compromise the essence of the game or a player for selfish reasons.Unfortunetly there is a blemish that surrounds this story and legacies of the two involved...In conclusion,Just Being a vessel and a "positive"force for this great game is what matters the most.
It's called tough love and training. Get over it! The world isn't ever going to be nice to you. You want to succeed you need to fight for it. MJ, Collins, etc, no one did anything wrong. They were trying to make men out of these boys but they wanted to be coddled and told they're great, when in fact, they weren't. Instead of wanting to punch them, they should internalize that anger and hit the weight room, work on their moves, shot and practice, practice. Then maybe they would be known more for their NBA careers than for being complainers and whiners years later. I had a physics teacher in college who was very hard on me. Instead of whining I worked even harder and studied more and aced his final. It's how you react to adversity that makes you a man.
Lol....dude that sounds absolutely ridiculous. You're comparing a physics class in college to the egos and politics involved in PROFESSIONAL sports. Those are two completely different worlds.
Maybe Etan Thomas should do a podcast about Jim Boeheim and invite Syracuse alums such as himself? If you're going to call out this kind of harshness - you can't pick spots and act like Doug Collins and MJ are different.
The truth, as always, is probably somewhere in between. Jordan and Collin's were probably trying to impart a mentality of "Oh you think that, **** you, I'll show you how Wrong you are/good I am". That worked with their generation but younger generations do not respond to that. They (Jordan & Co) probably think, yes I am mean, I am an asshole, but the world is mean, the world is an asshole, so you better toughen up. I don't think the intention was as negative as is being implied but I don't think that it was the right approach either, young people are just different in terms of how they are motivated now and somebody being an asshole to you is taken very literally where once it was just seen (mainly) as talk/bait that men habitually responded to and used to build each other up a little bit, it was mainly left at the door and taken as part of the game, so to speak. In other words, the line for what was going too far shifted with the passing generations. Similar parallels in soccer, the likes of Roy Keane were simply too abrasive for the new generations when they tried to coach them. It's interesting to see how the alpha's have changed in this regard. Wilt was a complete asshole and narcissist, Magic and Bird were all about winning and Bird in particular did not suffer fools and trashed the hell out of opponents, his teammates were alphas in their own right so he didn't need to tough love them, Jordan arguably was an asshole but he was a team player and did ultimately care about his teammates besting themselves, Kobe was another evolution unbelievably driven and unforgiving of anyone not pulling their weight but not to the degree of Jordan. What can you say about Lebron?
Michael Jordan wanted another draft pick but instead the Washington wizards had chosen Kwame. Michael decided to take all his agnst and frustration on Kwame because he couldn't have his way.
It is a damn shame how those we look up tohave such meessed up minds that they nfeel the necessity to attempt to try to negatively affect th next generation so they won't advance past their accomplishments...all because some may choose to go straigt to the pros and limit the amount of money higher ups in the leagues can make on prospective draft choices!
There have been high schoolers since the late 60's. They get injured faster they generally dont get much time because they are unpolished when it comes to ball IQ.
Is this click bait? Why MJ did it then? That is said if BJ was giggling.. but I mean coaches sometimes get a laugh off their players.. until it gets serious. Sometimes pin players against each other and since if they have that fight in them.. I dont think disrespect is the correct word. It doesn't do it justice. It leaves out the bigger picture, which was all wrapped up in filth. MJ got done dirty with the trade so attempting to protect his image.. force to return to play to tarnish his image & stats.. then was indirectly used to do Kwame dirty to make him look bad.. and then SAS was used to take that outcome just for David Stern who was head of the NB@ to get this one and done rule accomplish. And thet did it right after LBJ was successful. Next thing you know Kevin Durant has to wait a year b4 he can go straight to the NB@. Idk how much MJ was involved.. but I do know he is not about stopping players from making money from H.S. except for the tug they may have given him.. aka the G.A.G.A.G. pulling him into situationships..
@IDK Jackman Please STOP it MJ was not force to do anything fuk that DEVIL he is the MACHINE .. Funny now MJ is trying to contact Kwame MJ sent one of his boys to deliver a message to Kwame lol!! he could do it himself WHY his scared his been watching and he know what his done.. Kwame said sorry ___ I'm missed your call you stated MJ wanted to talk Kwame I don't know about WHAT? I'm to listen. On yesterday Kwame video just like that. Of course MJ want to pretend to kiss Kwame ass NOW! he scared to have his perfect Fake image be touched with the TRUTH! he was an ass hole and much worst attaching a child his was much older. TOO late MJ had over 20 years to reflect on his mistakes I don't believe he EVERY give it a second thought how could he have his EGO never make mistakes he never give a Fuck about anyone but himself his not a people person he can't even speak sorry but it's true I feel bad for him because the good side of me say its not his flat this is how he was raised by the MACHINE the devil.. Then on the other hand it shouldn't have to take a BAST BAST to mentioned MJ name on RU-vid to want to talk now or even Apologize beside it wouldn't be real anyways MJ trying to save face not going to work for Kwame there is no amount of money or apologies to make up for what Kwame and others may have gone through no one can tell me this is just part of the Game BS! LIARs if that is true prove to us that MJ was every miss treated just once? when did MJ have to Fetch for balls? when were balls every thrown in MJ face? When was he every told he wasn't shit ? When was MJ every made to go set in the back of a freezing aircraft? NEVER Kwame had to do all that he had to set in the back of Aircraft with freezing temperature while all the other set in front How does that work? how is that part of the NBA or in anyone Contract? is not What MJ and others did to a Child at 18 years old was straight out Mental and Verbal Abuse.. We only been told small details not all yet for me this is all very disturbing Kwame said he suffered Psychological trauma during the NBA because of MJ he did reach out for help himself after the NBA WE THE PEOPLE STAND WITH KWAME and I wait for his book
