Kwame Brown discussion with former Washington Wizards Jahidi White, Chris Whitney and Tyrone Nesby | The Rematch To read more of Etan's thoughts on Kwame's time as a Wizard click here: www.basketballnews.com/storie...
Coming from a athlete that has played sports our coaches on game day would want us to relax and save all of our energy for the game so sound like sabotage to me 🤔
Micheal Jordan had to be scared of Kwame and I feel he used his influence with Chicago's Management too make sure Kwame didn't shine. I also believe Jordan had been looking at Kwame for a long time even before he hit the draft, he knew that with the right team and couching Kwame would have ended MJ's NBA legacy.
🤯😳 I’m having so much trouble wrapping my mind around the fact that he never said a word. It’s totally blowing my mind. I’ve never had this much respect for a man I’ve never met. Kwame a real one forreal
@JustSayin He never said a word because he has old school morals and values. He was/is blessed. He wasn’t worried about the media, other players, he was focused on helping his family and his people. He was/is a God. He’s revealing how little the masses really utilize LOGIC when analyzing situations.
@@LeadWithLogic Facts. I don’t know why people are so shocked by a man, who grew up before the social media era, keeping his business to himself lol. He only snapped back, because even well after retirement, they still wouldn’t keep his name out of their mouths.
Sounds to me Kwame is a real man who took a lot of shit, however, he listened to all the noise. Kept his composure and kept it moving. The four brotha's who spoke up in this video, God bless all of you. Kwame ain't no bitch and thank God for that!
Well you state he aint not bitch but you know when Kwame signed the 1 year deal with Charlotte...owner was Jordan. I'm guessing the early years with Jordan werent so bad after all as Kwame decided to work for the man 😂
@Mypussy Hurts Kwame was 19 when he got drafted and turned 20 in his first season. You lames are so gullible. He got 60 million plus and never got better. No one wanted him at 31 years old because as Jordan said, "He is lazy and full of excuses."
Im suprised they havent spoke up about him until now. But maybe they have, ot maybe they didnt really have the platform to. Ya know damn well the media wouldnt have asked these guys to come on.
@@drmahidhar1876 yes he was! He seems like a Stand up guy!! This platform and perspective Is so necessary! (from the players, not just the popularity contest winners lol Matt and 'em)
...which is a damn shame. Kwame seems like he has his money, actions and mind wrapped around the Black youth. MJ seemed like he distanced himself w/the exception of marketing his shoes to the youth.
The irony is the black community built up MJ but whole time MJ behind the scenes breaking down a black boy with low self esteem🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️. I Am glade I never bought any MJ 👟
Mike Tyson said it best “ the internet has people feeling as though they can disrespect, murder mouth & character lynching you as if they won’t see you in person....”
"Outstanding?" I don't know; I just started listening. I'm gonna be open, but I forgot Collins was the coach. Still, it doesn't change how it was. Kwame didn't perform well during games. What they're saying is Kwame was too young. The ball in the stands story I don't know if I'd do it.
Garbage? Yeah ok,but 12 years in the league 70 million dollars of income over the years, where are your comprehensive skills, did y'all get what these brothas were saying, gtfoh, with that mess
Easily one of the best sports episodes I’ve seen. And I’m a lifelong fan of the NFL and NBA. Been buying their product with my hard earned dollars for many years. These men all played multiple years in the league and know the grind it took to make it to the best of the best. None of them talking crazy. All relatable dudes. Somewhere along the line the mainsteam media and the culture in general has lost this down to earth, sensible type of content.
1 hour from guys that actually made it to the NBA. And are looking at things from an eye level perspective. Is worth more than stephen A's entire career.
Kwame said Jordan wanted to trade him Chicago for Elton Brand. The Wizard’s owner vetoed the trade. It’s obviously Jordan and Doug Collins were out to sabotage Kwame once they didn’t get their way with that trade.
He is so deserving of a major and GRAND apology. A man that loved his mom so much that he was willing to endure all to take care of her like he promised her he wld at 5. That is so beautful. If and when a movie is done they need to do it right.
People get called bust everyday B....ppl treat Iverson and others who did more worse....it was cool on the beginning but now dude just ranting. He's mad about them talking bad about blacks when that's all his idols Candace owens and Tommy Sotomayor do....I been watching his channel. Now he's being mad sensitive about everything and you all are keeping the bs going because when ppl apologize you call it fake and say they are scared of mommas cooking...gtfoh...he had apologies and didn't except.
@Wade you must have been there with him because judging off of what former players say they said he was a great kid. And if you was 7ft tall you would be doing the same shit you doing now. 😂😂😂
@@blackbird3809 Valid point, but I am sure at that time they had to be concern with there careers considering they were not mega Stars. They did mention they were also young athletes at the time.
Sounds like a whole setup. MJ was like I’m coming back and if this shit don’t work out I’m gonna have my peoples make sure Kwame takes the fall for it.
Kwame was the second to the youngest of 8 boys. And persevered to to take care of his mom. He grew up playing basketball all summer with no shoes. The man is a beast. Thank you for having your old teammates back.
Hearing this is unbelievable! When K.B. said this is bigger than me, he wasn’t kidding! This is sad!!! They are revealing more than K.B. is about how his team treated him!
What happens in the dark, comes out in the light....2020 and beyond...i am sure this is a prequel...can’t wait to see when -this- type of situation spills into the politicians...it HAS to be OTW...
Blessings chris, nesby ,etan and jahidi you brothers full of love and speak the truth michael jordon and dug ruin kwame career they should apologize to him to do that to a 17 yr old
Thank you Kwame Brown teammates for standing for truth✊🏾 "The media's the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty, and to make the guilty innocent. Media has the power to influence minds, ideas, behaviors and attitudes of the masses" Malcolm X
*Black men aren't building businesses. No gas stations, corporations, etc but stay on RU-vid, a platform created by 2 white men and 1 Asian man, claiming manhood. Create your own platform independent of other races*
These guys are saying everything I had been saying for over 20 years about MJ. David Stern and the NBA owners protected MJ at all costs. This is only the beginning.
Singing "Brothers gonna work it out!" Classic! Very nice how these brothers came together to support Kwame...so nice to hear them speak the truth and reflect on the abuse that he endured.
I watch baseball highlights and commentary and all that I hear is stats, updates about injuries, a little relevant news or fun facts about players and things like that. No negative bashing and such.
The way they describe his emotional abuse at 17 makes me want to throw up 🤮 he stood his own made it out God Bless him he was just trying to feed his family real Nigga shit he’s strong 💪 salute king
They done forgot people actually come from something ... Everybody on this internet done got use to faking and shaking but a real man figured out how to get on this internet and shut the Bs down ...
I wouldn't call him a Nigga sistah. We as a people need to get rid of that word. Kb was a grown man, a warrior and fearless in the face of all his struggles.
So proud of you guys changing the narratives. I would rather watch you guys speak on sports than watching SAS on ESPN Black people need our own sports network to touch on our own people 🙌🏿💪🏾
NOBODY WOULD LISTEN TO THIS IF MATT AND JACK AINT WAKE THIS BEAST. TIMING IS EVERYTHING! THE UNIVERSE IS WITH KWAME. HIS MAMA WATCHES OVER HIM.. #MommasCooking
Regardless of what Stephen Asshole says he never made the NBA so STFU. Jalen Rose said there r 15 players per 30-32 Teams about 450 to 500 out of thousands. In my eyes a lot of it had to do with age and the team he was with. He was or is no bust he's a former NBA player he has game.
I’m so glad I watched this podcast. Glad they all told the truth and defended Kwame. At the end of the day, this time in history proves the point “what it is done in darkness, will come to light”.
Skippy has really thin skin for someone who always goes in on athletes. The same goof who gives athletes all kinds of wack nicknames to criticize their play.
Respect to these fellas for getting together and telling the truth. I bet Kwame is watching this smiling. Finally people saying good things about him 😀
Even tho Kwame is a grown man but my heart breaks for the kid that was mistreated and all he probably wanted to do was to give his family a better opportunity in life and he took all that abuse just to make sure they were straight. If Jordan this stand up guy he claims to be I think he owes Kwame an censer apology publicly he probably want admit it but you hurt this person Jordan do the right thing the world that’s paying 200.00 dollars for your shoes standing outdoors all night just to buy them even when they’re struggling themselves because they have that respect for you. Show little boys what it is to be a real man and how to resolve issues like one this man deserves it!!!!!!
I really want to thank these guys for telling the truth and not jumping on the band wagon and I don’t know any 17 year old kid who could put up with what kB put up with and still have a positive outlook on life
They are lieing and speaking shit. For example Kwame was drafted 2001 and born in 1982. That makes him 19 years old when he was drafted. He literally wasnt a 17 year old , these guys dont even know what age he was.😂😂😂
@Etan Thomas...Kwame Brown keeps asking Stephen A Smith...What was you doing at them Colleges and High Schools BOY?!?! Do you think the NCAA paid him(SAS) to bad mouth Kwame to slow down High Schoolers from going straight to the league? Great discussion by the way
Real talk...before I watched this interview I was one of those that thought Kwame was a bust as a #1 pick and that his rants were bitterness over being a bust. NOW...I understand his backstory and I'll forever think twice about judging anyone about anything without having more information and deeper knowledge. Thanks fellas.
Probably the most important video in sports of the past 20 years! These men deserve to tell this story on a larger platform. And much respect for being honest and telling the TRUTH regardless of how unpopular this story may be towards the narrative.
@@charliej8104 Of course they won't. And that fact just further highlights what Kwame has been saying. Blacks get on these platforms and protect "who they like" while demeaning those they don't. And that's a bad look. Especially for someone like Kwame who HAD the game, but wasn't given a fair chance to succeed according to those who were there.
@@KelzKelz This is the video we needed. Because up until now, all we had was Kwame and Stephen A's side of the story. They sounded nothing alone, so SOMEBODY was lying. Now, we know who.
All this going back and forth sounds like a Hip-Hop beef. I can tolerate it, as long is no one gets killed. Brown seems too be enjoying his new found fame. He is a bit of a showman and very intelligent. He'll get the most out of this, even though he may not have gotten, the most out of his basketball career, by whoever's standards, and for whatever reasons. What the public gets out of it is more important, IMO. The mixing of entertainment with social and political discourse for the advancement of Black people, has not proven productive. I hope this new phenomenon doesn't continue the mistakes of previous similar Black subcultural fads, and produce, or simply perpetuate, the level of violence and disrespect among Black people we see today.
I'm truly starting to think that there really was some kind of conspiracy to deter high school players from going to the league. Kwame Brown was the example they had to make.
Who would benefit from that? NBA is gonna draft talent, they didn’t have to draft him. He just landed in a bad situation with bad people. Not a conspiracy
@@tradariusmaddox6827 yeah, I remember a few years after KB was drafted, they official released the rule to be in college for a year instead of right out of hs. colleges won’t lose millions & nba won’t either, and they used KB as their example... I’m sure MJ was all about MJ and making a comeback & the media/Doug was in his back pocket. everyone tried KB. It was messed up & im glad KB stayed strong. 🤜🏽🤛🏽
This was an awesome segment. Lifelong Wizards fan since Ledell Eackles. Loved all you guys. Always played with Wiz in 2k so it’s like I for real know you now.
This video makes Stephen Jackson, Matt Barnes, Stephen A. and all other haters(media/fans)! Look like 💩! MJ included! That’s why it will always make sense to know the whole story! Keep going Kwame! You are a real one! Shout out to you four brothers for sharing your truth!
This conversation needs to be held on TV, because if the media really wanted to get the facts.. they would have brought these four gentlemen into a sit-down and spoken one-on-one with them so that the world would understand why kwame is dropping the bombs that he's dropping
This was awesome my Brothas, it's great to see a group of Black men talking good and positive about another Black man, please keep it going Etan you have gained a bigger supporter, as well as the Jahadi, Chris, Nesby.
I was down in the DMV at this time, I used to see these brothers in the Ritz (club) and D.C. Live I believe it was called, along with the great Rod Strickland, cool brothers
We watch the Last Dance, we know MJ is ferocious. It's clear that they denied him his growing process. Thanks for sharing these stories. The media has been using Kwame as a scapegoat and they never stopped. I am actually proud of Kwame for speaking now. If not, they won't stop.
I never like MJ cause I thought he is a selfish, arrogant, Mj treated Kwame brown bad because he didn't want anybody to out shine him!! Kwame brown would have been a hall of Famer if he had went somewhere other than MJ!! Jordan kill kwame brown confident with his arrogant!! MJ is a jerk, but he knew who to treat like that because I would have kick MJ in the mouth!!
@@normajeaneason6983 Kwame should go off on MJ!! MJ didn't like Kobe Bryant at first cause he knew Kobe Bryant was going to be better than him and now MJ the jerk act like Kobe Bryant was his best friend
@@tedlondon4987 Kobe Bryant is the one that looked up to MJ. In fact he wanted him on the stage for his HOF induction. That wasn't something Vanessa Bryant thought up. MJ stats speak for themselves. I doubt he ever worried. And as far as Kwame Brown you are disrespecting him like the others. If he doesn't or hasn't gone off on MJ who are you to say he should
