Thank you for the kind words ! Appreciate that, I'm a normal person having fun and sharing bike stuff. No pro so consider myself a normal person lol. Cheers and glad you enjoy the content
Good to hear you also think it sounds right. Next test will be a ride mainly to check all works fine, gears etc is my next concern. Great condition looks so much better after a good clean Cheers
Haha another to the collection as long as Mrs don't look. Was pre covid price so unless gears or it grenades soon its a decent price. Would love to keep it the more I spend time with it, just bit too good to ride properly as don't want to smash those plastics now, dilemmas. Thanks mate
@@motomachinezuk8786 ridiculous in price want & 1200-£1600 for ragged 85 I'm like yeah neder seen a track but them rfz pit bikes look good or the kurtz
Hopefully this 1 rips OK and all gears work that's my next kinds test needed on this. I know them 94s, decent bikes. These old 2 strokes don't half produce a good punch Good luck at the track not sure I will go to a track with this, mainly because I can't ride 2s on jumps, quicker on my crf250r
Its puffing a lot of smoke rings out. so that would be a 2 stroke engine I imagine, heard those are becoming more rare now except for the KTM brand. " Several motocross magazines hailed the 2005 Kawasaki KXâ„¢250 as one of the best all-around two-stroke motocross bikes due to its sheer power, ideal handling and superb brakes. "
That's correct old school 2 smoker, and yes ktm are common, cornered the market they have. Then in 2006 the suzuki rm250 was updated and knocked it off the spot then all the Japanese manufacturers stopped making new ones apart from yamaha but haven't changed the 250 for over 15 years now. For then though I won't benefit the difference between the years, only a pro would gain from those.
Hi your kawasaki looks mint bit it looks like there is something burning off in the exhaust maybe some residue oil or new packing in the tail pipe keep up the fantastic videos 🏍 👍
Hi and yes that's what I hope smoke is plus it was cold and unused for years. Hope that when I test and get it hot the smoke should calm down. Thanks glad you enjoyed
Thanks for the update looking mint mate and for the forks tubes you can just buy KYB UPPER FORK DECALS MOTOCROSS GRAPHICS CARBON stickers of eBay for £11 and for the smoking it may settle down after it’s had a good blast or it could be exhaust back box need repacking looking forward to seeing this monster rip and great content as always thanks
That's the only bit I can't really make better apart from covering, might get some decals or fork protectors for it. I agree I think it will pass but never know exhaust can is a good shout. I shall test ride it next, feel that power and give it once over with gears and then check coolent and fluids are good. Should pack some punch Cheers
Lovely bike mate and probably will smoke a bit until you burn the old oil off so definitely a oil change needed looking forward to the test ride vid 👍👍
Also these 2 strokes weren't called 2 snokers for nothing, it was cold so once hot and used I think will clear too. Will be testing tomorrow I hope but then editing can take a week or 2. So busy at moment. Cheers mate can't wait to feel the power of this thing
Cheers yes I'm taking it out tomorrow but the editing etc.. can take a week or 2 mainly because this channel is a hobbie and I've got work and a family plus channel small so only spoon feed if you get what I mean. Thanks for watching
That's a 2004 as designated by the number stamped on the cylinder 1959. Mine is a 2003 it is stamped with a 1979. Clean old bike though. Couple of things I would suggest doing is make sure your carb is jetted correctly, you repack the stock muffler, timing is on, clean power valves, Reed valve check and she will rip.
Someone else said its also a 2004 because of the hole on swingarm. Good information I shall do those jobs once I've checked it all works correctly. Just before I find 3rd gear or something doesn't work. Hopefully all good tho Cheers for feedback 👍
@@motomachinezuk8786 no problem, oh and the ticking noise is very normal of these. It is just the power valve making noise at idle, the noise dissappears once you are riding and getting on the pipe.
@@tcrides2137 I'm just looking at vids about cleaning power valve and notice it's quite a time consuming, most people seem to take engine out to do it is that correct ? Just planning the job for another day. Just seemed you might be able to answer and kx 250 owner. Thanks
@@motomachinezuk8786 yes sir, the power valve job is something to do when you get into a top end rebuild. Your bike sounds great and healthy. I think you got a gem there.
@@tcrides2137 yes that's what I thought just wanted to confirm. Cheers and thanks the bike gets better the more time I spend with it I notice how clean it is Thanks again
@@motomachinezuk8786 i could tell as soon as I saw you measuring out the pre mix mate. Its the closest to the old castrol r oil and has a smell of its own. You know a castor oil based smell from miles off. My brother used to race and as a kid I was addicted to the pit lane smell. 😆 🤣 top man!
@@SiR2Dean haha it is distinctive but also does the job, it was that or shihl 2 stroke oil lol. Nostalgia for alot of people 2 stroke smell. Once I've got the engine nice and hot I think the smoking will pass but may get worse before better if alot of build up in can etc. All good fun
@@motomachinezuk8786 what brand u looking for thee dnm shock are pretty good I had a mountain bike one was good but a swapped out as to short I'm looking for a pit bike after my Rc projects are finished note rode alot since the car accident and put and end to my mx day so I sold my cr125 😢 I never should have but needed the money
@@motomachinezuk8786 volt and elka shocks u can use ktm 85 parts swing arm and shocks be the ultimate mod and u can get the triple clamps made up to fit the ktm forks I think kx 85 work too but not the swing arm and shock as it linkage
Would be nice to have the lot. Only have a klx110l now, that kx was bullers, he sold it. Once i did have a kx65 wish I never sold it. Kx 500 are very expensive now
@@motomachinezuk8786 I want an 160-190 pitty or a 85cc two stroke to learn to ride again but yeah the dnm Is good value for what it's and prety well known as u know elka ar around £400-£500
@@motomachinezuk8786 but I've just checked cw and dB racing and still in stock the dnm piggy back 320mm is what u need and even sell the mud shock flaps too 👍
@@Lee-At-Green-Pheonix-Rc piggy back won't fit mate mine is electric start so no space as battery is taking up most of it. I need 1 with connected to a pipe so I can find room for it.
Just been looking and to be fair you are the only one to pick up on that, think you are right I've just been looking. Cheers I shall do a frame number check also now but I can see your point
Yes cheers another confirmation it's a 2004. It's been pointed out to me a few ways now but all I said is what I was told. Probably a bonus being a 2004 rather than 2003. Cheers for the input this mistake will be corrected 👍
@@motomachinezuk8786 I looked to see if anybody in the comments said it and didn’t see any lol. But okay 👍. That is a very nice kx you have. I got the same bike! Still with the original tires haha. If you want more top end out of it throw on a full pc or fmf system. I did with mine and it definitely pulls more up top.
@@curtsawchik1480 ah good to know q full system helps un that department. Do you have stock reeds ? Wow I'm not sure if mine are stock tyres ?it was a guess really on mine. Sweet that must be a tidy bike you got too Good to get the feedback from people about age, should really have done a frame number search first but I only repeated what I was told
@@motomachinezuk8786 yeah I do have the stock reeds still in the bike. Only thing done to it is a full pro circuit exhaust. Which really helped give it some more top end pull. Your tires have been changed. But that makes sense because the stock tires are not very good. I’m about to throw a new set on mine. But by looking at your bike I’d say you only got 20-25 hours on it just judging by the wear. That’s def a low hour bike
