What is the part number of the shim kit you used from hotcams

MUELLNER MACHINES HCSHIM01 ... you need the 7.48mm size for this kx250f... my kx450f takes the 9.48mm size

My 2013 has a knocking noise coming from the transmission side also, starts and drives perfectly. Engine seems to be running a little rich however when checking the spark plug, any suggestions what im going at fixing before i start? It’s really just a noise and a lot of people told me it’s fine ignore but you can see why I don’t want to

you could be fine, a lot of people worry about the kawi engine noise .. checking the valve clearance would be a really easy test to make sure nothing is wrong there as that could add noise..make sure your cam chain isn't worn out and the tensioner is still working properly, that could add some noise..

Do all Kawasaki have the same type of bucket valves ?

Not sure. But I have a kx450f and the process is the same, just has a different size for the shims

What feeler gauges did you use? What’s the part number

I was using a combination of two sets and the part numbers for both are: 173147 BikeMaster Feeler Gauge Set + 173146 BikeMaster 12-Blade Combination Tappet And Feeler Gauge Set .. they both worked good!

@@taylorpowell5198 probably very similar... I just Googled the clearance specs for 2014 and they are the same as 2009.... I would double-check the timing picture too (like what I have at 6:47) as I haven't found a picture of that yet showing any difference to my 2009

@@sebastianbarriga7057 mira mi video a las 6:29. utilice los dos puntos de cada leva para colocarlos. la leva izquierda tiene puntos a las 9 en punto y a las 12 en punto. la leva derecha tiene puntos a las 12 en punto y a las 3 en punto. mire el diagrama a las 6:47, puede contar los 12 pines en la parte superior para confirmar. asegúrese de que el motor esté en el punto muerto superior al hacerlo.

I’m getting a knocking sound seems to be on transmission side but I’ve read forums saying it’s normal on the 2011 kx250f can you confirm or do you think it’s a valve adjustment?

I would definitely check your valve clearances just to make sure, it is pretty easy to check.. and if they are not all in spec I would go for it on doing the adjustment too because that could cause the noise and not too tough... I guess the cam chain could be another place to check and not too difficult to replace .. if that did not fix it I would either take it to a pro mechanic or do some deeper digging on the forums and maybe post pics and videos so the pros can help out.. sorry I am not a pro yet

@@MyDylan360 yes the shims were off . Due to 2 shims being off it was off of timing .

I mean, when u put it in line, i see reflection of two lines when u record it

Matija P it was hard to know which line was for tdc... it does appear to have multiple lines.. there is a trick to confirming if you are using the right line, if you put a screw driver in the spark plug hole and turn the engine you can see the screw driver go up and down, and when it is furthest up it should be at tdc and on the right line.. check out my kx450f valves video, around 3:30 I did that

Matija P so there are two lines and you want to line it up with the line that is further to the right if you are looking at them both on top... or said another way: if you are rotating it counter clock wise it would be the second line

you need feeler gauges to measure it (173146 BikeMaster 12-Blade Combination Tappet And Feeler Gauge ) , and you need some shims to adjust them (HCSHIM01 ... you need the 7.48mm size for this kx250f) .. other than that it is pretty basic tools needed

Haha bro me too but you should just go for it cause your bike probably needs it, it’s not really that hard after doing it, and kinda fun learning something new .. you can at least check them

@@victorosegueda8510 under the seat where the spark plug goes, you take that cover off.. and you put the engine in top dead center so valves are ready to measure.. then you use Feeler gauge set to measure each valves clearance and see if they are within the ok range or if you need to adjust the clearance by putting different size shim in
