Thinking about this song on a deeper level than 'it's pretty'. A few of my observations, 1. The slight echo, to make it feel more empty/desolate 2. The minimal use of instruments, to reinforce the idea of 'back-water town' 3. The rise of emotion in her voice when she says 'let's get out of this town' to show hopefulness at the idea of finding something better Anyone else have any other observations?

It's 2022 but I'm only discovering this song. My lover had to go back to school in a foreign country for four years. Before he left, we made it a point to spend as much time as we could together. I just heard this song in the radio and it made me smile, 'cause it reminded me from my high school years. I (like many of my friends) was busy planning getting out of that town just like the lyrics say: "Nothing ever changes here, I know, Another day, another year, same old, I don't wanna live my life in circles, I just wanna find an empty road". Now about 20 years later, after travelling around/living abroad more than a decade, I am settled and have no rush anywhere.. The future will show, if this is "forever", but at least now: "No hurry anywhere.. No hurry out of this town.." :) !
