That's funny as hell... was absolutely shocked that many pitted that late, staying out seemed the obvious right call esp after the importance of clean air. Once I realized 9 other guys stayed out, I knew it was game over for the pitters. I think the Coke 600 skewed everyone's idea of fresh tires / late race pit strategy.
Well idk. He rode behind Elliot for a while in dirty air not being able to get to him so I think he knew at that point. I think he just gave up on the race tbh
I thought going into the pits was the right call seeing how in previous races that drivers that pitted with fresh tires had a huge advantage but I was completely wrong, Danny did make it to 6th with the first car on 4 fresh tires
It’s track dependent but ya idk why them yoters didn’t stay out like Logano wasn’t even top 10 on pace and he held onto a top 5 spot like 10 laps into a run being the only one staying out
It shocked the hell outta me too I figured with how much better the Gibbs cars were they would've stayed out, terrible call to come down pit road since track position was key all night. One things more than certain is Alan learned his lesson from 2020 and stayed out this time 😂😂 but man this is too funny but also pretty concerning, Kyle needs to be careful I get hes frustrated and has every right to be but riding the wall twice in half a lap the guys at the shop, his team, and especially sponsors aren't going to appreciate that and when you're already having trouble getting a contract extension and primary sponsor worked out this does not help that process.
Well he was right - it was a bad idea to pit that close to the end of the race, but how did tearing up the car help? Better to tear up the rear end of the crew chief I would think.
What killed him and the others that pitted was Brad K and others running out of talent. They didn't throw a block, four morons just took up the entire track while they barely held on and ruined what could have been a good finish.
The caution flag they did not throw (of course because “ their boy” was in front) was why Kyle was so upset. He had nowhere to go with the tracked blocked by cars that had lost their momentum. Also, the previous caution was extended to “clean the track” ……had Blaney been the leader, a red flag would have been displayed to give “their boy #9” a better chance to close the distance.
@@timechanger9162 he had more pace into 3 than any other car out there tonight, it was absurd honestly. he carried more speed into 1 and 3 and had better exits out of 2 and 4. he may have been able to pass 9 one more time if he didn't get called in. i was so confused watching them all come into pit while 9 stayed out.
@@KumoGoesFast They 9 car passed him twice in the last part of the race. Once during the green flag run. Then KB pitted and cycled ahead of Elliott before the caution came out. Then Chase beat him in the restart.
Easy for the comment section to say this or that. It really was "damned if you do, damned if you don't". If he stayed out, you know EVERYONE else would have pitted and steamrolled the top 2. I think he knew it was over with 15 to go, wasn't getting past the 9 in any scenario.
No his antics are why he has sponsors lol he brings attention to himself and he’s the biggest personality in the sport that’s one of the reasons why Toyota won’t let him go
@@crispykiddo70 yes he brings attention 2 himself but its all negative and he might b the biggest personality but hes also the most annoying and childish as well.
@@butter7734 CC calls a " Tennessee Titan" and booth thinks it means two tires. KB says "M&Ms" and comes in for two tires. What was the Tennessee Titan call for then? 4 tires? No, it was for him to stay out. Check it out before you call bullshit. I'm not the only one that has seen it say he vetoed his CC.
Just baffled why the hell the JGR boys pitted with 7 to go! I could careless about the crybabies hamlin and busch. MTJ was running top 3 all day. They just gave away 20plus points in the standings. May cost him later in the year. Cole Pearn,we need ya buddy!!!
@@ethanhenrichs5677 I know! One of the stupidest calls,I seriously think I even seen in Nascar. Specially since MTJ already won the first two stages. He may not of caught Chase. His car was awesome after the rain delay. He at least would of had a shot at the win. And more than likely a top five finish. Just a heartbreaker, running top 3 all day. Stages won,and ya finish 22nd over a tremendously bad call. Crazy! Go #19MTJ!!!
@@clintondarnell5318 Yeah, a top 5 would be way better than 20th. Hamlin managed to get a top 10 but Truex and Kyle got caught in the Keslowksi stuff. That's usually how Truex throws away his 3ins, bad pit calls.
I heard that it was KBs decision to pit. CC called a "Tennessee Titan" (booth thought it meant two tires), but KB said "M&Ms" and he came in for two. So, it was probably all his fault.
You must have forgotten nascar is the one that designed it. They couldn't even get out of a wet paper bag nevermind design a car that can run good in dirty air.
Everybody seems like they are Kyle Busch haters. With the newer cars and softer walls you can get away with a lot more than you use to. If you listen he didn't make that much contact and wasn't riding the wall like everybody keeps saying he was in the gas just up against the wall very close.
@@JayYo21 The bigger question is, does the owner of the cars he keeps destroying on purpose want him on contact or in his cars. When you're young and dumb, they allow you some of that. At Kyle's age and experience, he should be past all that. Kyle is damn good but better drivers have been fired for less.
Toyota was arguably fastest last night. All the Toyota drivers besides Bubba have had winning cars at some point. Hell Bubba would as well maybe if his crew didn't choke every other stop
I can't believe these veteran drivers would have came in and pit for tires with five laps to go when track position was key and clean air let alone have to pass all those cars in Four laps while Chase just ran away with it. Tires or no tires you had to have a Hendrix motor to win this race as a matter of fact the champion will be running a Hendrix motor they out produce in horsepower more than any other engine on the track and wait until the playoffs they'll be fine tune to a t and then the others will watch them drive right by Cliff Daniels didn't even have to be at the race to win this one he called it from home. Easy win for Elliot he motored on by setback took care of his tires out drove all of them they were hornswoggled.
He was on two everyone behind him was on 4. Once he got boxed in the first time it was a wrap but the second time (Kes & Custer getting pushed high by chastains 4 wide bonsai) KB had no where to go and checked up even more.. he was then getting freight trained by all the fresher tires and said fuck it. And with all do respect with the gimmicky points system that we have I don’t think KB would look back at this and be like damn wish I wouldn’t have done it. Because at the end of the day only a championship matters and you have to win Phoenix in a one off crap shoot.. 2-10th means nothing in this bogus era Nascar has schemed up. I don’t like Kyle by the way. But I have grown more fond of him has the world around us fills with more bullshit he’s always spewing his authentic self at every opportunity. He’s KFB 100% of the time and I respect it. Grinding the fence on purpose after getting a top 2 ripped from you is part of it and I think it’s hilariously awesome.
@@austinjestis7124 winning the regular season championship is 15 pop and is bonus for each round so if that’s not important to u Elliott will gladly take it
@@High-Side-Broadcasting The regular season champ has only won the title 3 out of the 8 times the cup series has used the play-off format. It. Doesn't. Matter. The only thing that matters now is getting a win every few weekends in the play-offs. That's it.
Everyone saying he should have stayed out; I heard on the broadcast he vetoed the team's "Tennessee titans" call for "m&m's" so as far as I'm concerned it was his decision to pit.
Nascar ALWAYS waits for 2 laps at the end and why Kyle pitted is beyond belief ... Has and makes more money than Gibbs... Not sure why he even stays there . Should have stayed out.. Win or Crash .
Yes it was a mistake to pit. But still no excuse for acting like a 4 year old throwing a tantrum by riding the wall instead of salvaging a better finish. I think we are seeing why its getting tough to find a sponsor for Busch and also why I think he is the odd man out in exchange for Ty Gibbs. I don't think Gibbs is ready but I ain't the one making the decision.
First of all if you listend on his radio he said he thinks he has a tire going down, so listen to what acturally happend not what these hms and daddy chase fans say🤡
Typical crybaby like behavior from KB. Hey, blown calls happen to everyone. Woulda, shoulda, coulda. Take it like a man, punk. If I was Joe Gibb I'd make him repair the damage he did to the side of the car..
