Dubé Juggling Presents a new series of contact juggling tutorials. In this lesson, Kyle Johnson teaches the butterfly. www.dube.com www.pullingshapes.com
Sorry but what you're doing in the video and what you're saying to do are 2 different things. What you said at 1:03 about the butterfly is just not true. The Windshield wiper does what you're saying, but not the butterfly. As per your explanation, the laws of physics don't work like that and thus will never allow when the ball is on the back of your hand to do what you're explaining to do. I have the windshield wiper down on both hands and it didn't do anything to help me with the butterfly. When I try to do the butterfly all that happens is I wind up either throwing the ball up or rolling it off my hand sideways. There is no possible way to go in a figure 8, while keeping the ball in contact like it is in the windshield wiper. Physics do not work like that. The enigma has the same exact problem, not because of the move itself is difficult it's because it's impossible to roll the ball the way people say to do it. I've watched over 30 videos on this move, and I still cannot figure out exactly how to roll the ball nor the direction it needs to be rolled in. I cannot make heads for tails out of how to do that move.
