I just finished listening to the audiobook of this about a week ago and I’m still blown away. It was quite the story!!! now I definitely need to go out and buy my own paper copy of this book📚
I am only a quarter of the way through “The Evening And The Morning” by Ken Follett, but so far I seem to be enjoying this more than any other book I’ve read.
I'm at chapter 6 on the book. I absolutely love it Ken Follet's The Evening and the Morning. I'm yet to find out about Edgar and his family's Journey to recovery. Those 4 really caught my attention.
Just finished 'T.E.&.T.M.' this evening. I suppose the title refers to the tides, as it isn't specified in the novel. While I enjoyed it (having also read the first two published Kingsbridge books just before reading this one), I do think Follet needed to do another draft. There isn't the same momentum behind the story as in the first two books and it does feel a bit thin relative to those other two. The events are often strong and the variations on the formula can be surprising in how they play out. But the overall plot isn't as strong or well developed.
Currently reading A Column of Fire (Kingsbridge #3). It's good but not great like Pillars. I think its weak on the characters. That is the greatest strength of Pillars. Interesting characters! I cant wait to start The Evening and the Morning next.
Hey Kyle I’ve known of your channel for years because of our mutual love for follet and the pillars of the earth. I thought this was fantastic too but my favorite (maybe not best but it’s close) is world without end, ugh I love it! Anyway I would recommend you check out Matthew Corbett series by Robert McCammon if you are interested in colonial America. I’ve read the first two and they are fantastic.
@@yhctower the reason I loved world without end is because after reading pillars of the earth (my first historical fiction ever) my mind was blown, and I wanted it to never end. I wanted to experience that again. And that’s exactly what world without end didIt was a similar formula which was perfectly fine by me. It was 1100 pages of absolute joy. That and Pillars are among my favorite books of all time. Pillars miniseries was good too. I haven’t watched world without end yet but I have it on dvd. Sorry for the rambling lol I just am a huge follet and historical fiction fan. Anyway if you check out McCammon I’d love to see some video reviews
Hello , thanks for your review. I've read and enjoyed a few of Follet's books ( including the first two from the Kingsbridge series). My favorite was "Dangerous Fortunes" , but that fell to second place after I read and throughly enjoyed "Never". Can you please recommend another book similar to Never. I enjoy historical fiction, but the political suspense of Never was even more thrilling.
I haven't read Never yet. I plan to but haven't got around to it yet. So not able to give a good recommendation on something similar to Never until I have read it
Hi Kyle! Came across your channel because I was looking for reviews of TEatM. I finished it a few days ago and am now re-reading Pilars (after more than 10 years). I gave a question for you since I don’t recall Pillars all that much. Will there be a a revelation of a connection between Tom and Edgar? I find it odd that with Evening being the prequel to Pillars there is (as if now) no obvious connection between these two. Is the location and the clergy the only true connection between the two books? Thank you!
I was too really furios about this so I looked at the character's list on wikipedia and it stood that Jack the builder was the son of Jack Shareburg which means that he is realated to Ragna
